CONGRATULATIONS TO MY WINNERS!

YOU HAVE ALL BEEN EMAILED.
In order to claim your prize YOU MUST REPLY TO THE EMAIL.  I cannot accept winners through Facebook because there are so many scams. If you do not see my email, please check your SPAM.

DAY 4 – Amy White
DAY 5 – Melissa Berengue
DAY 6 – Jean Siska
DAY 7 – Rita Wray
DAY 8 – Deanna Sutherland
DAY 9 – Lindsey J Taylor
DAY 10 – Lisa Beatty Sargent
DAY 11 – Jess Blackcloud
DAY 12 – Amanda Wooten

Welcome to my annual 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS!

If you’re new to this – here’s how it works:

1.   Each day from December 1 through December 12 I will put up a new giveaway HERE on my website with instructions on how to enter, a detailed description of the prize, and some stuff about the book or series. Each giveaway is different and each has ONE WINNER. MY GIVEAWAYS ARE ALWAYS OPEN INTERNATIONAL

2.   Each giveaway runs UNTIL DECEMBER 13.

3.   Winners are CHOSEN and NOTIFIED on December 14. I will be notifying winners USING THE EMAIL USED TO COMMENT ON THIS BLOG – and all winners will BE LISTED AT THE TOP OF EACH GIVEAWAY POST HERE ON MY WEBSITE on December 14.

4.   Winners have 24 hours to respond, then another winner will be chosen.

5.   ALL PRIZES WILL BE MAILED ON DECEMBER 15.  If I’m waiting on a winner to respond and they miss the December 15 mail date, that prize will be mailed when I get around to it. I live in the middle of nowhere so a trip to the post office is a “thing” for me. 🙂 So make sure you’re checking for winners on the 14th.

6.   I will send newsletters announcing giveaways on December 1, December 6, December 12, and a Winner newsletter on December 14. I NEVER send this many newsletters in a month so sorry if that feels spammy.

7.   You can also FOLLOW MY BLOG. I will also make a blog post HERE announcing ALL WINNERS on the 14th. If you want to follow this blog there will be a form at the bottom of each post to do that. Then you get an email when I POST HERE. I don’t do that often – December is the exception because of the 12 Days and my yearly “Wrap-up” post.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

THAT’S IT! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THIS!

The world is INSANE right now so I’m just trying to spread some cheer and give back to all of you who support me and enjoy the stories I create.

NOW LET’S GET ON TO THE FIRST GIVEAWAY!

IN EACH POST I WILL HIGHLIGHT A BOOK

TODAY’S BOOK HIGHLIGHT IS LOVING DARK MEN!

READ FOR FREE IN KINDLE UNLIMITED!

A man lures a woman into the woods.

Another ruins the life of his best friend.

And yet another strings them along like puppets.

Dark men.
They are intriguing, and charming, and powerful.
They are changing the world.
They are changing themselves.
They are playing with lust, and love, and fear, and loathing.
Addicted to each other, to their secret, to the seduction, to the sex.
It’s a crash in the making.
And yes, it’s on purpose.
These men are dark.
And this is the messy story of how Nova Ryan loves them.

Loving Dark Men is a seductive romantic thriller that will have you turning pages well past your bedtime. A standalone book by New York Times bestselling author, JA Huss.

Nothing beats classic Christmas cut out sugar cookies and yours looks amazing. I love making these with my kids. No matter how old they get it’s still something we do together.

I love Christmas cutout cookies but there are so many other good ones. I love spritz cookies or even just almond bark pretzels. My sisters and I get together every Christmas season and make thousands of cookies to give away. One of my favorite parts of the holiday season.

I don’t go by looks as long as they taste good anyway. They could be any kind of weird shape and I’d happily buy them all 😅

It is not a cookie, but it’s a very traditional cake during Christmas season in Chile, it’s called “Pan de Pascua” flavored with rum (or pisco, Chileno of course) filled with dried fruits and nuts. Usually it is served with another very traditional breveage, called “Cola de mono”, it contains mainly aguardiente, milk, sugar, coffee, and cloves. I already had some Pan de Pascua because is so yummy.

As you’re making them, you have the oven preheating but when you’re ready to put the cookies in you turn the oven off and “forget” about them for the next 12 hours. When done right, they just melt in your mouth.

My mother would make this coffee cake with chocolate chips on top and a layer of chocolate chips that would melt within the cake itself. Sometimes she would switch it up by turning this into cupcakes (altho, tbh, I don’t know how she managed to get the same effect w the cupcakes as well). But I’m not a baker. At the time, I could eat as much as I wanted — no problem. But since my metabolism has changed, I leave larger amounts for the kids and just eat much smaller pieces with, perhaps some vanilla ice cream to make the entire treat less sweet! It’s unbelievably good and probably 5 million Valerie’s per bite… 🥰🥰🥰

When I was a teen, my mom’s friend, Wilma, always made us a confection called John Wayne’s Balls. Delicious chocolate, coconut, sweet milk, I think there was graham crackers. I know I have the recipe somewhere but I haven’t discovered it since we’ve been in our new home. But it’s in a safe place! 😉

My mother’s butter cookie recipe, which we used to make every year before she died, is a treasured favorite. Sometimes we’d use the cookie press to make long narrow cookie logs, cut them when still warm, then press two together using melted chocolate (picture Italian cookies, just more homemade and yummy). Her cookies were always so special.

Definitely my mom’s homemade Christmas candies. For over 50 years, she had spent all of Thanksgiving week off work (or during retirement just during that week) making between 25 and 40 different kinds of candy to share with friends and neighbors, co-workers and loved ones. When I was a little girl up until I left home at 23, I would help. As I got older, I’d be handed one of the recipes and simply be asked to just make that one. I had three sisters who also helped, one of whom has since passed away.

This year is the first year Mom won’t be making her candies. First, she will be 80 in May. She’s tired. It’s a lot of work to do it all by herself, and she just simply doesn’t want to do it anymore. Second, all of the ingredients are not currently available due to the ongoing covid shortages on this and that. She tried to buy some ingredients for just a smaller amount of candies, but she couldn’t even find enough to do just a few recipes.

She’ll be emailing her recipes out to her remaining daughters and all of the grandchildren since we all loved her candies so much. Many have turned out to be terrific cooks (my own kids included) and desperately want to duplicate their favorites from Grandma’s recipes. I can’t wait to have some chocolate-covered peanut butter balls. They put Reese’s to shame. LOL

My favorite Christmas cookies are Snowballs, they are packed with a ton of chopped pecans then I like to roll them in powdered sugar when still warm out of the oven, but the secret is to roll them in the sugar two more times, because the cookies aren’t sweet at all, but they melt in your mouth along with the powdered sugar and then you get the nice crunch from the pecans. I’ve been using a recipe from the first cook book ever given to me when I was 21, it’s a Betty Crocker cook book from 1969, I’m 74 now and still enjoy making these cookies (my daughter’s favorite Christmas cookie) every Christmas, and I still have that book.😉❤

And I’ve taken to pairing them with Loco Love chocolate drops (also vegan, all-natural, RSF), to add an extra melt-in-the-mouth chocolate dimension to them!

Little round balls that melt in your mouth! Food coloring is used to make them red or green. Along with them my great aunt used to make and now my mom makes Mexican wedding cookies. Each of these cookies melts in your mouth. They’re so beautiful with their red, green, and white presented together. And, of course, making and enjoying these cookies every year is one of the ways to keep and reminisce about our Aunt Ollie! ❤❤❤

I’ve always loved pumpkin pie with freshly made whip cream. Growing up my mom would make the crust from scratch. She always made extra so she could make pinwheels that we’d have for breakfast in the morning. They were not quite a cookie, not quite a cinnamon roll. She’d roll out the the extra dough, cover it in butter and cinnamon sugar then roll it up and slice them…pinwheels. When they baked they’d caramelize a little bit. She eventually stopped and our Christmas morning ritual when I was an adult were these soft baked scones with fresh cream and jam/jelly. She and I liked trying new and different jams each year. The first Christmas after she passed, I was in the store and saw this container in the bakery section with something that looked like her pinwheels. They weren’t exactly the same but so close that I cried. Now if I could just find her soft scone recipe….

I love the spritz cookies you make using that device that looks like a gun and that lets you affix different shapes of cookies to the barrel. The taste is similar to a sugar cookie, not overly sweet, and you’re able to eat just one because of their smaller size.

I have 2 favourites. One is a ginger biscuit – also an aunt’s recipe and the other is a vanilla cookie with coffee icing sticking 2 cookies together, which was handed down from mom. They are both huge recipes that were made when families were quite big. The gingers uses 9 cups of flour and the vanilla one uses 8 cups. My traditional cookie bake day is on 16 December which is a public holiday but this year it will have to wait until we are back from holidays

I love the peanut butter temptations. They’re supposed to be made in mini muffin cups, which I didn’t have the first time I made them, so I made them as cookies. Since then I’ve had them in the muffin cups but they’re way fluffier (more fluffy?) as cookies. They’re one of the very few things I bake.

I love Christmas cookies. My favorite is a sugar cookie recipe my grandmother made every year growing up with all us grandchildren. Every year we would go to her house and decorate her Christmas tree while she made the dough. Then all us grandkids would cut out favorite shapes and decorate. I thought we lost the recipe when she passed away so, I was so excited when I received the recipe from my Aunt. They taste SO good and bring back amazing memories. Merry Christmas!

My mother in law always made a mouth watering chocolate covered peanut butter ball. They melt in your mouth and are so smooth.

Oh and my favourite dessert is my family’s “green salad “. Container of cool whip, can of crushed pineapple undrained, cup of mini marshmallows, and box of pistachio pudding mix. Blend together and devour! Technically it’s a dessert but we always served it with the meal. So yummy!

The first time I brought it to my in-laws they were wondering if I was crazy but by the end of dinner they were fighting over who got to lick the spoon.

We have about 6 or 7 varieties of Christmas cookies that we make each year that we’ve made since I was a little girl- my favorites are called Mexican Swizzle Sticks – they’re a chocolate cookie with a hint of cinnamon, covered with a chocolate glaze and rainbow nonpareils. My old cookie press broke and the new one doesn’t have the same star shape – so now I make large snowflakes and we have to come up with a new name.

Sacred Trinity

THE DANGER IN THE DAMAGE

A soldier searching for redemption.
A man addicted to control.
And the woman caught between them…

Ean Shephard knows trouble when he sees it and Olive Creed is the kind of trouble that can burn his whole world down. As Collin Creed’s baby sister, she’s completely off-limits. But her quiet strength, combined with her sad vulnerability, keeps pulling him closer. Shep came to Edge Security to escape his past, but falling for Olive could ruin his second chance and the fragile peace he’s fought so hard to find.

Brose Sinclair has always played the long game. He and Olive are more than just partners inside the shadow organization they both work for, they’re lovers. His absolute authority keeps her on track and Olive likes it that way. But her sudden attraction to their target threatens everything they’ve worked for and for the first time, Brose finds himself questioning whether control is enough to keep Olive by his side.

Olive Creed has spent her life learning to play her role perfectly. She can’t afford to mess up. Not with Brose watching her every move, looking for mistakes. Mistakes she sometimes makes on purpose just to spur on his titillating punishment. But as she starts to fall for her target and her world begins to crumble beneath her feet, Olive finds herself wondering—which one of these two men would truly be there in her darkest hour?

Brose—the one who owns her mind?

Or Shep—the one who wants her heart?

The Danger in the Damaged is a battlefield of betrayal and control, where loyalty is a weapon and obsession takes no prisoners. It’s a best-friend’s-little-sister romance caught in the crossfire of dark secrets and mind games—and this time, Collin Creed isn’t the one calling the shots.

Inside the pages you’ll find…

Enemies to Lovers
Best Friend’s Sister
Power Dynamics
