SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR THE GIVEAWAY…
Rory Gilmore… but make it mafia romance. If she wasn’t rich. And her mother died. With worst taste in men. And bosses. Who only hired her to make her fail. So he could punish her. With a demerit system that lives rent free in her head and she can’t stop thinking about how he might spank her if she fails sexily enough.
This is my ad copy for Her Chains Her Choice because this encapsulates Emmaleen’s whole world in a nutshell. She is cute, and quirky, and naturally funny in a self-deprecating way. Which is a survival tactic since she truly is the inverse of Rory Gilmore when it comes to life circumstances. She is Rory without the safety net of Stars Hollow, and a world-wise and capable mother, and grandparents with old money.
She is on the run from an ex she would like to erase from her list of “things I chose that went terribly awry”. She’s living in a homeless shelter with a 3-week deadline to pull her life together and she gets fired from her job in front of ‘the mobster next door’.
It’s a typical mafia romance set up. Desperate girl. Man with an ‘offer’. She accepts, it escalates. Enemies to lovers.
It is, for all practical purposes… ordinary on the outside.
But I’m just gonna say it plain. Because what’s the point in pretending I write typical romance? I mean, it’s been nearly 14 years. When you pick up one of my books that plot list I just outlined isn’t what you’re getting no matter how many times I tell you it is.
It’s just not.
If you’re here for the plot points you read in “last author’s take on Mafia Romance” you’re gonna be disappointed.
If you’re looking for all the cues that tell you this is a safe story, you’re gonna be mad.
If you’re looking for the ending that ties it all up with a bow, or even the ending that promises more cute enemies-to-lovers fighting that resolves into a higher escalation of ’same-same’ in books 2 and 3, you’re gonna hate me.
So I’m just gonna say it up front.
That’s not what this is.
If you like predictable, and safe, and same-same… well. You can skip it and your life will stay same-same. Nice and snug. Conventional and cozy. My story will have no effect on you.
Or you can trust me and get on the ride anyway. You can even be hostile the whole way through the trilogy. Call me names. Call me out. Call me whatever you want.
Emmaleen IS Rory Gilmore without the safety net. I’ve told you that up front. That is a promise. But that’s not the story. I call this dark romance but to see the specific shape of the darkness I’ve planted in the story requires a desire that only comes from the reader.
Do you want something new to think about?
Then take the ride.
If you like a ride, this is a good one.
You will get a story that’s never been told, follows no outline, and has not even a smidge of resemblance to what you read last week.

THIS IS NOT A GAME.
HE’S PLAYING TO DESTROY
Some cages are chosen, and some monsters are worth the chains.
Emmaleen
Twenty-one days until homelessness, nineteen demerits, and one chance at $31,750.
I am laser focused on my goal of getting the hell out of Riverview, PA—and Giovanni Bavga, mob boss, secret poet, in possession of a Lambo and the world’s most amazing green eyes—is my first-class ticket. All I have to do is everything he tells me for the next seven days.
My chains, my choice… until choosing him became the only freedom worth having.
Giovanni
Power isn’t something you take—it something given.
The demerit system was supposed to control Emmaleen Rourke but apparently, Little Miss Take didn’t get the memo. Now I’m the one losing control. Men like me don’t fall first. We don’t fall at all. In the circles I run in, caring about someone is the most dangerous mistake a man can make.
My game, my rules… until breaking them for her became the only win that mattered.
The Last to Fall series is an intense deep dive into the psyche of possession, obsession, and what one man will do to keep the woman he loves alive. Because some cages are chosen, and some monsters are worth the chains.

If choosing only one, I say #2 but I like a mix of all of those!
I’m mostly number 2, but I’m definitely not averse to number 3.
If I had to choose I’d say #2, but really I’m here for anything you write.. I’d happily live in any of your books
Definitely 2 but all of the above work 😅
#2 for sure! But I mean, who doesn’t like a little kidnapping in their romance!
Definitely #2.
He can be mean to everyone except me! ❤️❤️

I’m listening to chapter 2 right now as I work! If I have to choose just one, it would be #2…he can be mean to everyone except ME!! ☺
I will say 2!
I’d have to choose 2….
I’ll say number 1 but not emotionally just in the sheets!!!
I need him to ruin my life respectfully, in a way that life without him or with someone else is unfathomable, while hes mean to every one but me, in a ride or die kind of way.
2. “He can be mean to everyone except me”
I would have to choose the second choice.
#2 He can be mean to everyone else but me.
I’d say I’m in the he can ruin everyone but me camp
2

Kidnap me and ruin me but don’t be mean to me! Does that sum it up 🤪
