DAY 8 – 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS – 2024 – THE SPENCER BOOK

  • December 8, 2024
  • Giveaways, JA Huss

Welcome to my annual 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS!

If you’re new to this – here’s how it works:

1.   Each day from December 1 through December 12 I will put up a new giveaway HERE on my website with instructions on how to enter, a detailed description of the prize, and some stuff about the book or series. Each giveaway is different and each has ONE WINNER. MY GIVEAWAYS ARE ALWAYS OPEN INTERNATIONAL

2.   Each giveaway runs UNTIL DECEMBER 13.

3.   Winners are CHOSEN and NOTIFIED on December 14. I will be notifying winners USING THE EMAIL USED TO COMMENT ON THIS BLOG – and all winners will BE LISTED AT THE TOP OF EACH GIVEAWAY POST HERE ON MY WEBSITE on December 14.

4.   Winners have 24 hours to respond, then another winner will be chosen.

5.   ALL PRIZES WILL BE MAILED ON DECEMBER 15.  If I’m waiting on a winner to respond and they miss the December 15 mail date, that prize will be mailed when I get around to it. I live in the middle of nowhere so a trip to the post office is a “thing” for me. 🙂 So make sure you’re checking for winners on the 14th.

6.   I will send newsletters announcing giveaways on December 1, December 6, December 12, and a Winner newsletter on December 14. I NEVER send this many newsletters in a month so sorry if that feels spammy.

7.   You can also FOLLOW MY BLOG. I will also make a blog post HERE announcing ALL WINNERS on the 14th. If you want to follow this blog there will be a form at the bottom of each post to do that. Then you get an email when I POST HERE. I don’t do that often – December is the exception because of the 12 Days and my yearly “Wrap-up” post.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

THAT’S IT! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THIS!

All prizes this year are self-care gift sets filled with holiday and luxury items, plus a $25 gift card and a signed copy of a a book.

IT SHOULD BE READ OR LISTENED TO AFTER THE FORD BOOK.

Spencer’s love for Veronica is absolute.

She’s his “one” and together they are the perfect kind of wild.

But his past is filled with secrets and danger. He pushes her away to keep her safe.

But Veronica wasn’t nicknamed Ron the Bomb for nothing. She’s fierce, and bold, and she knows how to shoot.

So when a new guy comes to town and makes her an offer, she’s ready to show Spencer she can handle the danger.

But can she?

(1) COMMENT HERE on the blog (below) and tell me –

What’s going on your vision board for 2025?

A Vision board is a little craft project that a lot of my Romance author friends do to visualize what they want to bring into their lives via pictures. It’s like a collage from the old days when we were kids and we’d cut out pictures from magazines and stuff. 🙂

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME COMMENTING ON THE BLOG IT HAS TO BE APPROVED. SO DON’T WORRY IF IT DOESN’T SHOW UP RIGHT AWAY.

MY ANSWER

My vision board for 2025 would have pictures of farm houses, and barns, and chicken coops because I am really hoping to move to a new farm.

Also, I’d put lots of horses on there. I’ve been thinking about getting a new horse.

I love my draft horses but I’d like a proper riding horse so I could maybe do fun things like jumping. Just small jumps. Nothing big. I just think I still got it and I could do it if I just had the proper horse.

Or maybe try dressage. I’ve never taken dressage lessons so that would be all new. I just can’t do either of those things with the horses I have now.

(But def not planning on getting a new horse in 2025. I just want to visualize.) 🙂

AND HERE is a sneak peek of tomorrow’s giveaway!

Make sure you stop by and enter!

My vision board has an RV, items for starting an online business, and pictures of the open road. I want to travel and work online at the same time. That way I never have to concern myself with finances.

The picture I’d put on my vision board is a picture of Grand Marais Lake front Marina- one of the loveliest places I’ve ever seen even during the winter, view is so serene and almost mystical, as though one could travel into the past just by seeing it.

The biggest thing on my vision board is getting my disability approved. Then, find somewhere else to live and someone to live with. My baby girl is graduating and may leave me. Which is totally fine, I want her to spread her wings, but at the same time she has taken care of me the last 2 years since I became ill. Due to my illness I can not live alone, and if she moves away for college with her friends, then I gotta do something else. I know it will all work out how it’s supposed to!

Finding a new home. Don’t care if it’s to rent or own, there’s just a handful of “musts” that there are literally no leeway on. Also, want to try to finalize getting a service dog, there’s so many requirements and steps that you have to make sure everything is done exact right to get approval foe, it’s not a easy experience at all.

My mother taught me that there is joy to be found even on our darkest days. My vision board would be filled with images of things that bring me joy so I never lose sight of that lesson. There is obviously joy associated with a wedding, the birth of a baby, or landing your dream job, but I often find the greatest joy in the smallest details of daily life like a tulip blooming through the first snow of the season, finding holly berries growing on a bush that hasn’t bloomed in years, a child’s laughter, crossing paths with an old friend/co-worker from 20 years ago while Christmas shopping, or having your old dog and new kitty that barely tolerate each others on most days snuggle up together with you on the bed. 🥰

I’m not exactly sure. Perhaps a picture of my family when we were young & both my parents (who married at 19 & 21) also young were happy & healthy. Myself, somewhat older but really thin and below 100 lbs which won’t happen again. (Made me happy) My nephew w a slew of pics- showing him from a baby to a teen. Random pics to show my love of books, film, B’way & the Philharmonic. Also, maybe, pics of Yankee stadium, & me playing sports when younger or the piano, et al. But that definitely sounds like too many pictures, pos’bly too many topics, & I’m not artistic enough to envision it in my head. So I guess a paired down version of that by somebody who CAN envision it… (that’s why there are both readers and writers!)

WOWZA! I’m so impressed that you want to try dressage. I used to ride and jump when I was younger, but I never attempted dressage. It’s so exacting and difficult to master! I was always too afraid to go there, LOL. So, I honestly never did a vision board, but in my head I have lots of visions of where I want to be in 6 months, a year, 5 years. By the end of 2025, I want to pay off my house and possibly start making inroads to downsizing to something smaller…so that’s probably my biggest focus for a vision board in 2025.

I have a mental vision board, that I will get the house in order (from moving in June – yeah still unpacking), and enjoying my time with my kids, boyfriend, and the times I go on my vaca’s. I also want to start maybe a Side Hussle where I “bedazzle” book covers, book marks, phone covers, kindle covers, all made to order. But we will see if that sells.

I don’t have a “vision board” per se, but I do have lists and goals for the New Year. One is selling the 2 cars that we (my daughter) no longer needs now that she is married. We bought it for her for college and she has been the only driver and well maintained, so it should be fairly simple. The other car is one I inherited 5 years ago this month, and it is time to let go of that last piece. The other goal, in between babysitting and keeping up with my husband’s arbitration suit, is to clean out the closets in my house and list to sell or donate everything that I don’t want or need, including almost 40 years of paper files, etc. My kids want me to get it done so they don’t have to do it. They witnessed me having to go through my brothers’ house when they both died within 6 months of each other and begged me not to do that to them. So my goal is to pick one room per week until they are all cleared out. Of course those rooms are mostly my kids’ items, so they will be boxed up and taken to their house for them to go through!!

    2025 Vision Board
Really focusing on a healthier lifestyle, weight loss for sure, but healthier mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. I’ve never done a vision board, but I know I want my goals to show these kind of things. Health, fitness, adventerous, full of love and laughter and all the animals on my farm and that I plan to add to the farm. I want this to be a year of taking care of me so I can take care of my tribe.

My vision board is all about my daughter’s nationals pageant this year. She, of course, couldn’t go without her bestie, so they managed to get a state and regional title together so they could both go. So I’ve got 2 tweens I have to get outfits and do all the crazy pageant stuff for. We’ve never done a pageant before and both girls actually don’t want to win, they literally don’t want the national crown, they want crazy titles, like congeniality and social media correspondent. It’s so weird and a lot of extra work.

It would also have a pool as I plan to swim more often to help keep in shape along with exercise equipment (I’m sure everyone says this but one can only hope..Lol). There will also be a kitchen on there as I plan to cook and bake more now that I’m retired (the reason for the exercise equipment 😂).

We may be polar opposites, but we get each other what bothers her doesn’t matter to me and what bothers me doesn’t matter to her. I’m dealing with Celiac Disease, other painful G.I. conditions, Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, lots of autoimmune diseases (Lupus, Spondylitis, Sjögren’s, etc.), other chronic infections and diseases and conditions, Mast cell activation syndrome, Lyme disease (and co-infections), major food intolerances, and currently I can only tolerate about 6 foods. I’ve never done a vision board… Although I guess I’ve done a “million” of them “in my head” over the years. My vision board would look something like this… Lots of pics of Italy and Spain (my travel dream destinations), pics of a cooking class in Italy, lots of art and art museums/galleries, pics of me sitting down at a table with my partner, family and friends, enjoying delicious food and a glass of wine, pics of the beach, pics of me on the beach, pics of me walking and hiking outdoors, pics of me running, pics of me doing yoga, pics of me enjoying bakeries, restaurants, farmers markets, pics of me and my partner getting married at some beautiful venue with family and friends, enjoying delicious food, cutting into a beautiful cake decorated with real flowers, lots of dancing, my partner and me dancing to our wedding song (INXS: Never Tear Us Apart) (Note: My partner and I have been together for 31 years and we were planning our wedding back in the 90’s — We had the venue picked out, I had found and bought a beautiful lace dress for under $100, had a veil handmade to match back to the dress (both of which have been hanging in our closet for decades now), had the photographer, etc., when I became extremely sick, was hospitalized, I ended up in a wheelchair, and we had to put everything “on hold”, with the thought that we were just postponing the wedding because I hadn’t yet been diagnosed and the doctors didn’t know what was wrong with me at the time — Little did we know I’d only become worse off — We never got married as I’ve been too sick and we’ve just been dealing with medical crisis after medical crisis — We’ve been living together for about the last 29 years — We’ve owned, and have been living in the same house together since around 2001/2002 — So, we’re basically married, just not officially, and without ever having the ceremony/wedding). Other things on my vision board would be words or phrases such as “no pain”, “freedom”, “happiness”, “live life to the fullest”, “live your dreams”, “goals”, “fun”, “laughter”, “family and friends”. Other things on vision board: Pics of me in our kitchen, cooking and baking away — my passion!! Pics of me cooking for family and friends and hosting get togethers/parties. Pics of me — Volunteering, working at a soup kitchen, working with teenagers, fundraising/walk/run for health research, helping others who are sick by asking them, “What can I do for you? How can I help?” Pics of me — Helping out my parents, cooking for them, driving them to doctor appointments or wherever they need to go, grocery shopping for them, helping them in any way they need help. Pics of me — taking cooking classes, learning new techniques. Pics of me planting and growing my own herbs, fruits and vegetables. Pics of me and my partner taking dancing lessons. Pics of me working in MY restaurant, My bakery, or MY chocolate shop. I don’t know… This is so weird because I could just go on and on… I feel like my life came to a grinding halt in my late 20’s and I’m now in my mid-50’s, so I could seriously fill up a “million” vision boards… There’s just so much going on in my head right now — So many unfulfilled goals and dreams… I’ve never done a vision board, so whatever I wrote, I don’t think I even did it right. Oh well. Did the best I could. Thanks again Julie for this awesome giveaway and for the opportunity. Here’s hoping all of your visions/dreams come true!! 🙏 Happy Holidays!! ❤️🎄

I want to take more time for myself this year. Do things just for me outside of just being a mom.

Finished remodeling this house. Accomplish all I can in a new job I just started. And maybe just maybe get ready for our first grandchild this year. Fingers crossed if there ready. I’m the parent that gave the advise not to have babies right after getting married. But now I might have baby fever big time 🙂

My vision board has two items – zero balance credit cards and a clutter free home. The debt free cards will be easier to accomplish.

My vision board would have books that have been on my TBR pushed up first to read, furniture to inspire new flips, and possibly new states or events in general to explore with my husband and daughter.

Vision board? Never done one, but maybe I need to start!
I’d put pictures if Alaska and Italy on there, my dream vacation spots. I’d put camera with money, for the desire to sell more of my work. A trophy for finishing my last infusion of a med that will help keep my cancer away. The last one is in March. Maybe a pic of my sisters, who I need to mend my relationship with. Not sure what else but that’s a good start!

THE DANGER IN THE DAMAGE

A soldier searching for redemption.
A man addicted to control.
And the woman caught between them…

Ean Shephard knows trouble when he sees it and Olive Creed is the kind of trouble that can burn his whole world down. As Collin Creed’s baby sister, she’s completely off-limits. But her quiet strength, combined with her sad vulnerability, keeps pulling him closer. Shep came to Edge Security to escape his past, but falling for Olive could ruin his second chance and the fragile peace he’s fought so hard to find.

Brose Sinclair has always played the long game. He and Olive are more than just partners inside the shadow organization they both work for, they’re lovers. His absolute authority keeps her on track and Olive likes it that way. But her sudden attraction to their target threatens everything they’ve worked for and for the first time, Brose finds himself questioning whether control is enough to keep Olive by his side.

Olive Creed has spent her life learning to play her role perfectly. She can’t afford to mess up. Not with Brose watching her every move, looking for mistakes. Mistakes she sometimes makes on purpose just to spur on his titillating punishment. But as she starts to fall for her target and her world begins to crumble beneath her feet, Olive finds herself wondering—which one of these two men would truly be there in her darkest hour?

Brose—the one who owns her mind?

Or Shep—the one who wants her heart?

The Danger in the Damaged is a battlefield of betrayal and control, where loyalty is a weapon and obsession takes no prisoners. It’s a best-friend’s-little-sister romance caught in the crossfire of dark secrets and mind games—and this time, Collin Creed isn’t the one calling the shots.

Inside the pages you’ll find…

Enemies to Lovers
Best Friend’s Sister
