COMMENTS ARE WORKING NOW
Welcome to my annual 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS!
If you’re new to this – here’s how it works:
1. Each day from December 1 through December 12 I will put up a new giveaway HERE on my website with instructions on how to enter, a detailed description of the prize, and some stuff about the book or series. Each giveaway is different and each has ONE WINNER. MY GIVEAWAYS ARE ALWAYS OPEN INTERNATIONAL
2. Each giveaway runs UNTIL DECEMBER 13.
3. Winners are CHOSEN and NOTIFIED on December 14. I will be notifying winners USING THE EMAIL USED TO COMMENT ON THIS BLOG – and all winners will BE LISTED AT THE TOP OF EACH GIVEAWAY POST HERE ON MY WEBSITE on December 14.
4. Winners have 24 hours to respond, then another winner will be chosen.
5. ALL PRIZES WILL BE MAILED ON DECEMBER 15. If I’m waiting on a winner to respond and they miss the December 15 mail date, that prize will be mailed when I get around to it. I live in the middle of nowhere so a trip to the post office is a “thing” for me. 🙂 So make sure you’re checking for winners on the 14th.
6. I will send newsletters announcing giveaways on December 1, December 6, December 12, and a Winner newsletter on December 14. I NEVER send this many newsletters in a month so sorry if that feels spammy.
7. You can also FOLLOW MY BLOG. I will also make a blog post HERE announcing ALL WINNERS on the 14th. If you want to follow this blog there will be a form at the bottom of each post to do that. Then you get an email when I POST HERE. I don’t do that often – December is the exception because of the 12 Days and my yearly “Wrap-up” post.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
THAT’S IT! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THIS!
The world is INSANE right now so I’m just trying to spread some cheer and give back to all of you who support me and enjoy the stories I create.

DAY 4
IN EACH POST I WILL HIGHLIGHT A BOOK
TODAY’S BOOK HIGHLIGHT IS THE DIRTY ONES!
THE DIRTY ONES IS A STANDALONE BOOK!
An elite private college, lavish parties, a forest filled with secrets, and a tell-all book about the dark life of eight college friends. The Dirty Ones is a trip into the fantasy world of the uber-rich where you can get lost in their mansions the same way you get lost in their lifestyle.
They said write what you know so that’s what I did. I wrote dirty, I wrote erotic, I wrote the truth.
And then they called me a liar. But it’s not me who’s lying, it’s them.
Our story isn’t for everyone. It’s not even for us.
So if you’re looking for the fairy tale and the stupid prince on his dumb white horse, move along. You’ve got a hold of the wrong book.
This is not your story, this is not your life, and this is not your opportunity to dip your frightened little toe into the dark pool of water and “try new things” and then pull it out and decide… #NotForMe.
When you go in with us you go all in. So make a decision before you turn this page.
Because I’m making one promise with this book.
Just one.
We are The Dirty Ones and this is our truth.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION?
MY ANSWER
Every Christmas Eve I make baked potato soup and my family loves it. It’s very filling and I always make too much, plus it’s served with French bread—but it’s once a year and endure the overstuffed feeling for the sake of tradition! 🙂 We also make the same cut-out Christmas cookies every year, I’ve been doing that since my kids were born – which is a very long time ago now.
HERE’S A SNEAK PEEK OF TOMORROW’S GIVEAWAY!

TEST COMMENT. I didn’t have any problem posting on the other though- so I’m not sure if it’s working…
Christmas Eve was always at the in-laws and Christmas was at my house. Now it’s Christmas Eve at my daughter’s in-laws and Christmas at her house. So I’m looking forward to be heading to Florida on Saturday to start enjoy get my Christmas spirit.
Every year I get the kids a new Christmas ornament to represent something they were into that year. We’ve got ornaments like Harry Potter, My Little Pony, tractors, etc. We also bake dozens upon dozens of cookies to make cookie boxes for the employees, mail ladies, and various other individuals.
Driving to look at the lights with the family with hot chocolate.
Putting my tree up
I go out for dinner on Boxing Day, with all my family which means there’s always at least 20 of us and the meal usually last a good 2-3 hours. The. We all go back to one house for a traditional Christmas party with games, music and maybe a tipple or two 😁
my favorite tradition is all the women in my family get together to make cookies. We have the most fun ever, laughing and bonding, plus all the cookies we eat lol. Look forward to it every year
My favorite thing to do during the holidays is to make cookies with my sister, nephew, niece, and now my niece’s husband. This year my cousin’s daughter is joining us. Like you Julie, we have been doing this since the kids were small. They are adults now. We always have the best time.
Making gingerbread men with my boys, we get the Xmas music on & then while the cookies are baking we have a Xmas disco in the kitchen
Baking Christmas cookies with my kids.
When our youngest daughter was six, I used a Holiday Barbie gift bag for one of her presents.
The following year I did the same (since the bag was in great condition)!
The next few years as well.
When she was 13 all her gifts were too large to put into the bag so I didn’t use it.
After we all opened gifts on Christmas Day she asked where her Barbie gift bag was?
I didn’t realize it came to mean so much to her. Since then, it’s become a tradition that I use the Barbie bag. Even now when she’s an adult. ❤️
Taking the kid to the lighting of the city and the christmas parade
Decorating the Christmas tree. So many memories with every ornament.
Test
We let the kids open one present on Christmas Eve that we get to pick out
My favorite Christmas tradition is family gag gifts on Christmas Eve. We draw names for a Secret Santa type of gift exchange, but they have to be gag gifts.
Candy Cane Martinis with my over 21 sons 🤣
My favor u te Christmas tradition is having a huge family breakfast on Christmas morning after opening gifts. It’s a nice time to reflect and conversate.
I think we’re back in business with comments. So sorry for the trouble guys! Big thanks to Caro at https://gocreate.me/ for saving Christmas!
Hi Julie! I seem to only be able to reply to other comments…
So my favorite holiday tradition is cooking after opening presents on Christmas Day. I cook a meal of ham & scalloped potatoes(from scratch) with broccoli rice&cheese casserole & green bean casserole all of my family’s favorite side dishes & rolls that rise all morning & get baked off when everything is done. Cooking & making pies, cookies & pumpkin log rolls(again from scratch)…yes pumpkin…for Christmas day on Christmas Eve 🎄 ☺️
Baking cookies with the kids and listening to Christmas music plus decorating the tree.
My favorite holiday tradition is taking my kids up to mom’s on Christmas Eve and making homemade pizza for dinner and opening one gift while watching Christmas movies.
Digging out all the ornaments and putting up the trees.
Since my son was a toddler, I’ve always given him gummy bears and lifesavers that look like a book as a stocking stuffer. Last year was the first time I forgot to get them and he’s middle-aged now. He didn’t say anything, but I remembered eventually after the holidays. Ugh This Christmas I’m doubling up. lol
We also have the tradition of decorating cut out sugar cookies, but I think my favorite tradition is making the homemade poppyseed kolache in preparation for “breakfast” after midnight Mass. I have childhood memories of helping my grandma spread the butter and filling over the dough before rolling it up and forming a wreath shape (not traditional kolache rolls, but it’s how my grandma did it). When she passed the tradition continued with my mom, then me, and I have precious pictures of my daughter and niece helping grandma (my mom) to smear the butter and filling with their hands every year, starting around age 3. It’s become a fun photo op of them over the past 18 years, and I love that it connects the generations.
Christmas breakfast and New Years Day dinner. Love being with family.
I bake cookies while listening to Christmas music 🙂
We wrap our stocking stuff cuz let’s face it, unwrapping gifts is fun!
Giving my kids fun Christmas pajamas every Xmas eve and cooking for my family.
We go to my mom’s house for brunch on Christmas Day. Lots of yummy food
To open Christmas crackers & wear the silly paper hats.
I bake for days and we make gifts for family and friends, the kids help as much as they want, but usually abandon me 🤣 We also watch the same two movies every Christmas Eve and have a movie marathon New Years Eve, each picks a movie ❤️
My favorite tradition is going to my great grandparents, now my parents house on Christmas eve and spending the evening with them,my sisters and their families as well as my daughters and their families. One fantastic day of love ,laughter and togetherness .We enjoy a home-cooked meal made by all of us women and we do gifts for all of the kids.
Christmas Eve we go to the candle light service, eat Chinese food and see the lights.
Driving around with my family to look at Christmas lights! We pack as many people into one car as we can and drive around town to find the best lights
Opening the advent calendar with my son
Driving around and looking at Christmas lights in our convertible Mustang.
We don’t really have set traditions but always seem to eat chocolate for breakfast on Christmas morning 😂
WOOHOO! IT LIVES!!! Hahahahaha! My favorite tradition is picking out our family Christmas ornament for the year…unpacking them each year always brings fond memories!
We make Christmas sugar cookies and my dad still rolls out the dough.
Driving around town, looking at all the Christmas lights and decorations, while drinking hot chocolate and munching on cookies. So much fun!
When I got out on my own, I was always broke. I started hand making Christmas gifts to stretch my dollars. The tradition became a tack and I lost the enjoyment because I could one up the previous years. I was out of inspiration and ideas.
In the spirit of a hand made Christmas, I began baking. To this day the cookies, pies candies and mixes are now my favorite tradition for Christmas. No one is ever forgotten and there’s always enough for new comers. I’m able to take a few days off each year to do this and the time is always well spent.
My favorite tradition is baking cookies and making candies to share with friends and family with my mother.
Baking cookies with my 3 sons. Then we go and give some to our elderly neighbors
We don’t really have set traditions but always seem to eat chocolate for breakfast on Christmas morning 😂 I don’t know if this has worked. It says duplicate comment detected but I can’t see it. Sorry if it’s a repeat 🫣
Looking at all the neighbors decorations and Christmas lights and listening to Christmas music
Sneaking the “good” presents under the tree on Christmas Eve so the kids don’t have a chance to peek.
Every fall I buy 2 bushels of apples from a local orchard and using my mom’s treasured recipe, I make 8-10 apple pies that I freeze & later bake for our family’s Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter celebrations. Sometimes my sons are able to help which is wonderful spending time together & passing on the tradition.
My favorite tradition was the kid’s opening their gifts at midnight from mom & dad. They would play for a bit then go to bed. When they woke later there would be gifts from Santa that they asked for from the letters they wrote him.
We don’t have many Christmas traditions but first thing on Christmas day, we go to my brother and his family or they come to us and we open all our Christmas presents..
Christmas eve get together, our family mostly skips big gatherings but Christmas is one everyone (usually) makes time for
My favorite holiday tradition is watching the excitement on my son’s face when he is searching for his elf each morning.
My favorite tradition is going to my husband’s aunts. She will have lots of homemade food. Ranging from soups and sandwiches to homemade cookies and candy. There is a Santa that comes for the kids. We have Christmas pictures done and play games. All while the movie of the night is on repeat. That is usually the Christmas Story.
My favorite holiday tradition is baking cookies with my kids and now I get to do it with my grandkids. Although all of ours kids are grown they still love to bake and decorate the cookies and this a 30 year tradition for us.
Watching It’s a Wonderful Life with my family and going to Midnight Mass
My favorite Christmas tradition is attending the midnight Christmas Eve service with all my family and opening 1 gift at home afterwards
Candy Cane Martinis wit my over 21 sons and daughter in law. (She gets a little crazy and is tea fun to be with) Don’t tell 🤣
My favorite tradition is decorating the tree 💖 🌲 it’s the beginning of the season for me. Playing old Christmas songs, carefully unwrapping the ornaments and reminiscing over memories they invoke.
My favourite tradition is making gingerbread houses with my children and even though they are older we still do it every year and laugh every time it falls down after literally standing for 2 minutes 😄 😅 it’s so worth it though. Happy holidays guys thank you 🎄☃️🎅
My favorite holiday tradition is every year is a night of baking and making candy with my son and now his wife has joined us. We listen to the band Alabama’s Christmas album “Christmas in Dixie” and spontaneously start dancing. All the while singing every song. We put the mini bread loaves and cookies and candies in Christmas containers and deliver to friends and family. Watching my son dance with his new love and her enjoying our tradition makes my heart swell.
My favorite tradition is one I started myself, I found a food company who ells all kinds of things and my family loves getting that as gifts so that makes my gift giving fairly easy.
Baking cookies and Christmas shopping with my mom.
Driving around and looking at Christmas lights
Decorating the tree is a very special time for our family. Our granddaughter always gets to put the angel on the top!
Maybe not my favorite but I’ve been tasked with making my chocolate chip cookies forever lol
Baking cookies for Santa with my kids. Every year we make hot cocoa cookies for Santa, they are 24 and 18 and still love this tradition. I also get them new pjs every year and let them open a few days before Christmas so they have new pjs Christmas morning.
My favorite is having all my family on Christmas morning
Christmas lunch with my family. It’s the best
When my kids were little, we would ride around looking at Christmas lights several times during the month of November, it was my favorite tradition. We also would go to my Moms on Christmas Eve and open 1 present. Now that my kids are grown and my Mom has been gone almost 3 years, we don’t really have any traditions anymore. My kids have new traditions with their families and in-laws now and since it’s just me, I don’t expect them to blow everyone else off just to be with me. If my Mom were still here, it would be different, she made everything so much better.
Spending Christmas Eve with our best friends and playing games.
Baking cookies with my kids
My favorite tradition is the start of decorating for Christmas. Every year on Black Friday all Thanksgiving and fall decorations are put up and the house is transformed into a winter wonderland including the Christmas tree.
My favorite holiday tradition is making sugar cookies with my niece.
Watching Dinner for One with my mother and my daughter!
Cooking the items that we’ve made in the family since my Grandma was alive… cookies, persimmon pudding and five cup salad.
Putting the tree up the day after Thanksgiving. It sometimes takes a few days to get completely decorated, but it’s up. Merry Christmas!
When my son was a baby we started reading “The Night Before Christmas “ as the last activity before bed on Christmas Eve. The kids couldn’t wait until they could read it themselves. It’s a tradition both my kids have past down to their children.
My favorite holiday tradition is that my family and I make a big dinner on Christmas Eve and I love cooking for everyone is my favorite thing to do. And we also play games together and is so fun.
Happy holidays
Martha L
Getting the family in a car with hot cocoa and driving around looking at Christmas lights. We listen to Christmas music and tell stories of past Christmas times. It is so great to recall memories of family and friends.
Game night on Christmas eve with my kids and grandkids
My favorite tradition is being with my nephews since they are like my kids. I just love snuggling with them on the couch and watching holiday movies and playing games with them.
Since my family is no longer big. It’s just my brother , niece, mom and me. We plan a yearly trip or adventure. As my niece is mow 14 it makes then more fun filled. I took her to Universal Orlando this past year and we did Grinchmas and all.
Our Family traditions are making tamales on Christmas Eve. Everyone comes to my house, we play games and drink. The grandkids open their one gift that includes pajamas, hot chocolate, popcorn and a movie. And on Christmas Day we all go to my daughter’s house, open gifts and eat brunch. It’s a busy time but I wouldn’t have it any other way
On Christmas Eve, I pull out the music books and play the piano while my son plays his guitar, and our whole family sings Christmas carols and drinks mulled wine!
I’m all about creating new ones this year! The old ones were all about tiptoeing around a gaslighting narcissist.
We go to church for Christmas Eve services, then we meet up with our extended family and eat dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. As the kids have grown and have families of their own now, the group has grown larger and larger, but everyone looks forward to this special dinner every year! We see each other all the time but this one night is our tradition and no one misses it!
My favourite tradition is watching strongman, it’s not for everyone but it’s not Christmas in our home until strongman begins lol.
It’s a newer tradition, but watching the movie Krampus!
Decorating the tree and opening presents on Christmas Eve.
I love everything about Christmas- I can’t pick just one tradition.
Christmas Eve. At my Aunts house. The entire family crammed together in a very small house, catching up, eating, and having a great time. We’ve done this since I was small. And now my kids are adults and they enjoy it just as much.
Waking up with the family Christmas Morning, eating breakfast in pj’s and watching a holiday movie! Thanks so much for the chance!
After a big Christmas Eve dinner, my siblings and I binge movies. It’s simple, but it’s rare we get to that together so I always look forward to it.
This is a different year since my brother passed away. So being with friends & enjoying their traditions & having a small one of ours also
My favorite tradition is making candy and cookies. We make buckeye balls, Nebraska crunches, peanut butter fudge, peanut butter cookies and chex party mix. We love sharing with family and friends.
I love driving around looking at everyone’s decorations especially at night .
We collect ornaments from everywhere we go and we talk about our trips as we decorate the tree. There’s always Christmas music, cocoa, cookies and a gingerbread house we make and decorate on “tree day”. We make it a family event.
On Christmas Eve we all gather at my mom’s for an open house for friends and neighbours. We make appetizers to nibble on all night. Once it’s back to just family, we open 1 present each ( usually new pyjamas).
I make cookies with my dad using recipes from his childhood
On Christmas Eve, I do the cooking of, mince pies, sausage rolls, pigs in blankets and the ham. Then in the evening we have ham, eggs & chips with a nice glass of wine.
Putting up the tree, alot of baking, sending out cards and Christmas letters
Every Christmas Eve me & my kids get together & stuff ourselves and watch Christmas Movies ( especially Christmas Vacation, our favorite) . We’ve done this many, many years 🎄🎅🏼🧑🏻🎄
We get together with my immediate family on Christmas Eve. Once we leave my sister’s house, my husband, our son and I go home. We have a glass of wine, open presents and watch How To Train Your Dragon. It doesn’t matter than our son is 35. He insists on that movie every year!
When my family and my brothers family all go to my mom’s house and we all make Christmas cookies. Everyone gets involved and it is the perfect family day. Thank you for the chance
My favorite holiday tradition is hosting Christmas Eve supper for my family, kids and grandkids then attending the midnight church service.
My favourite Christmas tradition is decorating the Christmas tree with all those ornaments I’ve collected throughout the years from different countries.
Probably my favourite tradition (and maybe the only one we always do, lol) is, waiting till after lunch to open the gifts from under the tree. As a child this was torture 🤪 but it was cos we had to wait for my grandad to arrive. As an adult, it’s nice to be able to sleep in and have a bit of a chilled morning 😁
Due to certain difficulities, our little family started a new tradition, we ditched traditions. It’s me, I’m the certain difficulties. Seems when I do tradition, everyone will participate to my level of satifaction or will suffer the consequences! They didn’t enjoy that nearly as much as I did.
Now, we sit before the holiday, decide what to eat (pizza, lasagna, meatloaf one year…), put up what decorations we feel like, and sometimes trade gifts still in plastic bags, we much prefer to keep it very simple. And while I no longer get to break out my holiday whip, we do have some pretty spectacular holidays just spending time together.
I bake gingerbread cookies and florentine lace cookies. I spike my eggnog with rum. Now I am ready to decorate my tree while eating and drinking
Making cookies with my daughter on Christmas Eve. She’s 16 now but I plan to do as long as possible.
Thanksgiving Day dinner is always my favorite tradition. Nothing beats my mom’s passed down recipes, especially now that she’s gone.
I always make snack foods on Christmas Eve and we watch Christmas movies and wear matching pajamas. 😀
Making my grandmother’s Scottish shortbread is the one tradition that has past down through the years.
I do new ornaments every year of all the things we did over the year
Hot chocolate and cookies on Christmas Eve night while watching Christmas movies in our new pajamas
My son has high-functioning Autism, so his wits and smarts have always been showcased. Once when he was little, he pondered how Santa’s reindeer could see our house from way up in the sky. He came to the conclusion that if we used glow-in-the-dark glitter to make a makeshift “runway” of sorts in the backyard, that it would help them land safely. So every year, including last year when he turned 17, we would use a neon-green glow-in-the-dark glitter and line a pathway to our house in the yard. At the end of it was always carrots, dry oatmeal and alfalfa for them to munch on while Santa was delivering presents. The funny thing is that the neighbors are completely baffled as to how glow-in-the-dark glitter keeps appearing in their yards every Christmas….to this day they have no idea it’s us!
Family time is my fav Christmas tradition. As my family has grown and loved ones pass away our traditions have changed. We always make pizzelle cookies and peanut brittle to share with family and friends. Wr have recently added a movie day to our traditions.
I love decorating the tree with my mom every year and putting up our favorite ornaments. We also loving baking new Christmas treats while watching Christmas movies . Love everything about Christmas and spending it with my family !
My favorite holiday tradition is taking down the tree when it is over.
advent calendar counting down to Christmas where each night is a new activity . Things like Movie night, game night, make your own sundae night, take a drive and look for Holiday lights etc..
My favorite is meeting with my family on Christmas Eve to exchange presents and eat finger foods/chips and dips/desserts all evening. Then on Christmas Day we go to the movie theater, usually to see a movie released that day, but could be one we all want to see. This all started when I was in my early teens (20 years ago or so) and my Mom was having a hard time that year and simply didn’t have the energy to put into a “typical” Christmas. We put our heads together and came up with this low key Christmas, and it stuck 😊
Making and decorating cookies with family.
One of our Christmas traditions is adding something new onto the Christmas tree that represents something special as a family for the year. It is wonderful when decorating the tree with each item and remember where we got it from, i.e., a special trip overseas, a treasured find or bargain find. Makes for a fun event as a family to do together and be thankful for each moment we have with each other throughout the year too.
I bake the same Christmas cookies that my mom made every year and now my daughter and ope to pass on to my granddaughter in a few years
Ornament making. We make an ornament every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve as a family. My mom’s side anyway. It is like 63 people at Thanksgiving and 78 on Christmas Eve. I love our huge family. We also have a shopping trip to the mall and pictures with Santa for all girls in the family 18 or older. That is a good one too. I can’t choose between these two. Sorry!
Every Christmas Eve we open presents and Santa usually stops by to give the little kids a present
New Year’s Eve we have the most family together and we do a large fondue dinner and follow with game night.
Our family holiday traditions all revolve around food!
I am now the sole food buyer, preparer and server. We have a small family and over the years have added in others who may spend it alone. We start off with Brunch now being eggs benny (veg and plain) NO OPENING GIFTS UNTIL AFTER BREAKFAST. I cook two dinners one with turkey and one vegetarian . Both include my World famous stuffing (lol) then we all chill………
Enjoying the festive decorations
We don’t really have any favorite traditions any more. The only long standing tradition is putting up the tree the day after Thanksgiving.
Decorating for the holidays and seeing the joy in my grandson’s eyes. Little ones make the holidays brighter!
Making sugar cookies with the kids and watching Xmas movies. Merry Christmas 🎄
Christmas movies throughout the month. Night before, open 1 present. Day of, make cinnamon rolls, open presents, watch the parade, make a “feast”, and chill the rest of the day!
Family getting together for Christmas dinner
My family gets together for dinner. Once everything is in the oven we open presents. We watch Christmas movies all afternoon.
Unfortunately, traditions change when we lose the people we love. My favourite part of the holiday was baking with my grams. I would go over to her place the night before, and we would watch holiday shows or movies, and in the morning, we would bake cookies and squares with our holiday aprons on that she made us. In the afternoon, after the best grilled cheeses i’ve ever helped make, i would help her decorate the house, and after she moved her apartment, as well as wrap some gifts. We would play her favourite Christmas music and it always marked the beginning of the holiday season for me. The time when I really felt Christmas was on its way. I’ve struggled with feeling that way since losing her well over a decade ago. But i try and keep that time and that feeling alive by donning her old apron and using her recipes and cutters to make some of our favourite cookies for the holiday. This year we’ve decided it’s time to retire her cutters though as they’re very well used with love. So I’m going to put them on a wreath so that we can always see them in the kitchen and keep her with us every holiday season. Thanks so much for asking that question. Feels nice to remember her and the good times we shared. Happy Holidays! 🎄💕
My mom buys everyone matching pajamas, including the dogs, and we spend the evening doing a Christmas craft.
One of my favorite holiday traditions is going to our Holiday Stroll parade and tree lighting with my family
Baking goodies with the kids and watching holiday movies.
Every holiday I buy one game that the kids, now adults, open in Christmas Eve. We then play it together with varying degrees of success. Some years, it’s a game that will get played again and again. Others, it will be enjoyed later by the only one liked it. Regardless, it’s family time that means the most!
Every year I make my mom’s applesauce cake. It takes me back to my childhood. I also love baking cookies and having friends over on Christmas eve.
opening one gift on christmas eve
Being able to spend time with family, driving around to look at Christmas lights and decorations in our town
We play board games starting December 25th. Whoever wins gets to unwrap a present from their stocking. Makes for good times and the fun lasts for days.
Getting together for Christmas Eve dinner with my family after attending Christmas Eve church services where we sing lots of Christmas carols.
Our family Christmas tradition is to have a big family dinner and then we driving around town to see all of the Christmas lights….then we head to church for Midnight Mass….
My favorite tradition is baking cookies on Christmas Eve.
Gathering with my family on Christmas Eve for food, presents and games.
My husband and our girls always try and have breakfast together on Christmas Eve. Although it’s getting harder now they are both working.
Another tradition I have is making our Christmas Day Pate with my Dad.
I don’t celebrate holidays anymore but when I did as a child my favorite tradition was decorating every inch of my apartment’s living room. Tree, poinsettias, old holiday cards. You name it.
My favorite holiday tradition would have to be baking cookies. Coming from a huge Italian family that has sadly passed away through the years, there are very few family members left. I started baking to help with the stress the holiday season brings when I miss people. My baking has gotten a bit out of hand. I started baking a few items for a few friends and family. Then as the years have passed I have increased how many types of cookies I make and how many people I share the cookies with. I now make over 25 different types of cookies and I share them among 25-30 family and friends. I found that giving a tray of homemade cookies brings joy to the baker and the receiver.
Getting to open one present Christmas Eve, then going to bed and waiting for Santa to come
Making homemade hard tack candy with my mom.
My favorite holiday tradition is after we put the tree up the kids and I all pile on the couch with lots of goodies and watch a Christmas movie 🎥 🍿 🍭
My children open one gift on Christmas Eve and then our family gathers on Christmas morning to open gifts and then hang out until meal time.
My favorite tradition is baking cookies with just my mom and my daughter. We have such a fun day baking. ❤️
My favourite holiday tradition is all going to mass on Christmas Eve and then to the local pub, meeting up with other family members and neighbors, been doing this for years and now kids are older and some grandchildren attend too x
we have a few different traditions but one of my favorites is we make a batch of hot chocolate and grab a snack. then we pick up my aunt (she has vision problems and can’t drive at night. ). we then drive around the town looking at all the pretty lights. we then go home to chilli and oyster stew!
Getting together with my family that lives locally is my favorite tradition. We started a new one this year as my 3 great grandchildren came to decorate the tree. It was fun watching the 22 month old trying to put ornaments on the tree. Hopefully it will be a new tradition.
For the past few years we have been going to yankee candle to watch Santa arrive in a helicopter, then go out to lunch and end the day driving through Christmas lights. It has been my favorite tradition we started with our kids.
We do a huge family get together on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day our kids who now have kids of their own stay home and we go visit each of them to see what Santa brought.
On Christmas Eve, my daughter and I drive all over town to see the Christmas lights.
My favorite tradition is having all my 8 grandchildren together on Christmas.

We open our gifts on Christmas Eve after a lovely dinner.
Lunch with my family
Baking Christmas cookies with my sister and our daughters. 🎄🍪
We used play cards Christmas Day after dinner with my grandparents but since they are gone we have kind of lost that tradition. But I’m going to try and bring it back. But I always make almond flavored cookies with sprinkled white powered sugar. My kids love them. Yum!
Baking christmas cookies with the family
Decorating the Christmas tree
My favorite tradition is on Christmas Eve we play games and bake cookies and just be together!
Every year we have an Christmas Pickle Hunt, where I hide a Pickle ornament on the Christmas Tree and everyone searches for it. The first to find it wins a gift card and bragging rights for the next year. The big rule is no touching of the Christmas Tree is allowed under pain of disqualification. There’s a lot of boasting, trash talk, and posturing leading up to the Christmas Eve contest among the family!
Leaving beer and wings for santa (hes lactose intolerant)
I got a couple 1st I like to make reindeer candy canes to hand out to friends or co workers this year I d them as candy cane pens and did actually candy canes for grandkids. 2nd love to go see Christmas lights with the grandkids saw some new ones this last weekend and they were great had a great time with them!!!

Hiking around for a live tree, and baking special cookies!!
Having the family over to celebrate with us!
Sadly we don’t have a standard tradition. We do open one gift the night before. And Santa brings items and leaves them unwrapped under the tree.
Two of my neices have been coming over a few days before Christmas and help myself and their grandmother make cookies. They are 30 now and love this tradition, we’ve been doing this for many years now. Also, my family started playing bingo when we get together on Christmas Eve. It gets pretty loud and crazy, but so much fun!
selecting our tree
One of my favorite holiday traditions is wrapping all the gifts in one night, alone, behind a locked door, and with a beer by my side. I love being the one to wrap the gifts on Christmas eve, and then place them under the tree, to wait for the kids to open them in the morning.
Making christmas cookies with family and Christmas Day Italian dinner.
My favorite tradition is going to church on Christmas Eve. When I was a little girl our church had many members. There were a lot of us children so we performed in a huge Christmas pageant. We’d sing and read Bible passages and end with the older kids acting as Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus. But through the years our church and my family has diminished in members. What used to be our church’s midnight candle light service has been moved to 7pm to make it more convenient for us older members. Going to the candlelight service (no matter what time it’s held) is my favorite holiday tradition. We sing the traditional hymns and our pastor reads the Bible passages of the story of Jesus’s birth. At the end all lights are turned off and we light our candles and sing Silent Night. It’s beautiful! After church we do as we’ve always done and we go home, eat ham sandwiches with homemade potato salad, and we open our presents. The next day we have the rest of the family over and we celebrate by eating the feast my mom makes every year. Turkey, ham, and all the fixings including my favorite: the potato dumplings and sauerkraut. I remember a time when we had 38 family members attending our Christmas dinner. Now sadly we’ve dwindled to five of us and we’re all over 55. Christmas is most enjoyable when you have little ones to watch. It’s kind of sad when you’re all older and looking back on those years of love and happiness. Enjoy your family whoever that may be to you!
My favorite holiday tradition is a new book for every family member on Christmas Eve
Food traditions. We always incorporate Ukrainian dishes with out Christmas dinner.
Every Christmas Eve we open 1 gift(it’s PJs). Than we dress in our new pjs than watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate all night.
Spending Christmas eve with my parents and siblings
When my kids were little, we had a felt Advent calendar. It was just like the one I had as a kid. Not that they are grown, youngest has it (he’s 30). I also have a Christmas Village I started 25 years ago. It’s not Christmas unless I put it up
I honestly am such a Grinch due to trauma but my favorite thing is setting up the house the night before for the kids
My favorite tradition is to make sausage bread for my family. My Italian Grandmother shared so many of her recipes with me and taught me how to cook. She passed away the day after Christmas several years ago, so making the sausage bread brings such a warm feeling to my heart. Miss you so much Meatball Gram!
Since my kids are now grown. Started new tradition with my son’s family is we do our Christmas on Christmas eve. I fry chicken for our Christmas dinner. Then we open our gifts. Then on Christmas morning we go to our son’s house and he cooks breakfast so the twins can enjoy Santa’s gifts.
Everything about the holiday season is special to me. From decorating to Christmas events. But a favorite tradition is done by my mom. She bakes almost 20 different types of cookies for the holiday. And I taste test!!!!
Watching the kids open their presents and unpack the stockings… Also getting all the stuff ready for Santa (with the kids)… and then playing Santa… We normally make mess around the tree. So much fun
Picking out a single ornament for our Christmas 🎄
Every year we pick out one as a family. We’re hoping when we’re old our tree will be filled with one of a kind ornaments we picked.
I typically bake sweets for neighbors and close friends. I’ve had my grandkids get in on the fun and help me with the baking then send them off like little elves to deliver them. My family also plays some sort of game on Christmas night (charades) but this year we are switching it up for a bottle flip game that you can win prizes for.
I love decorating the house and the tree.
We get hot chocolate and go out for a Christmas Eve ride to see all the lights and decorations in the neighborhood.
I love to watch miracle on 34th street. I watch it couple times a year as well as a lot of christmas movies
Our old Christmas tradition was having our daughter, son in law, and grandkids over on Christmas Day. But since we’ve moved, we’re starting a new tradition of going to our daughter in law’s (son is still deployed) to open presents with our almost 3 year old granddaughter.
Cooking and eating Christmas Eve and staying up to open presents at midnight
Christmas Day is the big tradition day. First we gather at home & open gifts then we go to Mom & Dad’s to have our Christmas meal of some normal items (ham, green bean casserole) & some not so normal (homemade chicken noodle soup, great grandma’s spaghetti sauce).
Drawing names and buying one special gift for one specific person.
My favorite holiday tradition is going to the Christmas tree farm every year to get our tree. We put on our ugly Christmas sweaters, hit the coffee shop drive thru for hot cocoa, and bypass the tree lots on every corner on our way out into the country for the real deal. We cut down our own tree after visiting the animals in the petting zoo area, stopping into the bakery for warm Christmas cookies, and saying hello to Santa if the line isn’t too long. Then we go home and decorate the tree together while having a Christmas movie marathon.
Baking Christmas goodies.come dec 1,everyone starts asking if I’m baking yet. They know they’ll all get some.
Every year I get all my children, significant others and grand children matching Christmas pajamas. It is a holiday tradition then movies and popcorn for the little ones as well.
I love watching holiday movies!
Just family get together talking nonsense.
Seeing the Christmas lights.
On Christmas Eve, we all go to my sister’s house and have lasagna. We’re up to 28 of us, but she still manages to have a sit-down dinner!
my favourite traadition is being with the family Christmas Eve eating great food, playing games and watching the kids get so excited for Christmas morning.
Family gets together at my house , my mom passed away in June , her favorite holiday, we made cookies and her Swedish meatballs, I’ll be making them this year I hope there as good as hers.
We don’t really have one anymore, but back when my sisters and I were all younger and living at home still, we used to open our gifts on Christmas Eve, than Santa’s gifts on Christmas morning. (Because my mom was a nurse, and often had to work.) We’d open the gifts and then drive around looking at Christmas lights.
Decorating the tree while watching Christmas movies and drinking eggnog
Thete are so many! My husband and I always de grateful our tree while drinking champagne and watching White Christmas. One of my favorites!
Being with family and also making and eating Christmas cookies.
Growing up we didn’t have any traditions, but when my siblings and I started growing our family we decided to started a new tradition with our children. It’s been 14 years and going strong. we make gingerbread houses, And I’m not talking about the houses that come in a box already made and you just add frosting lol no our kids have to struggle to keep the gram crackers together so they don’t fall apart 😂. It’s so much fun seeing their faces or their ideas. I just love it.
My favorite tradition is every year my Mom, sister, and I, get together to make whole wheat bread in the shape of bears. We listen to Christmas music, have lunch, have wine, and laugh. Last year my nephew and his girlfriend joined in on the fun, which had my Dad for the first year ever make a bear too. So fun to see everybody’s bear.
Making too many Christmas cookies and feeling the need to eat them daily for breakfast
Favourite holiday tradition is going on a snow walk with hot chocolate
Since my birthday is the 26th of December, we meet up that day instead of Christmas and celebrate together.
Decorating the Christmas tree is my favorite thing to do and when the kids were young they helped, but I truly love doing it by myself. Making Pecan Balls rolled in a ton of powdered sugar. Bringing 5lbs. of marinated Mushrooms to the Christmas party my daughter and son-in-law have every year for all family members has become a tradition very much enjoyed by us all. Christmas day my children and I exchange our gifts and set out breakfast muffins, cinnamon rolls, Danish, Hot Chocolate, and coffee. Christmas music plays all day. Appetizers get set out for lunch and we eat dinner around 4-5pm and then we watch Christmas movies.🎄❤🎄❤🎄❤🎄
I love baking rum cakes for friends and family with my husband for the holidays every year.
Baking cookies with my grandmother and going to the Christmas festivals around town with my family
We have a Christmas Eve party at our friends house every year. They have done it for 20ish years now and this will be the last year we have it there. My BFF passed away in August and her husband decided to do it one more time and then he said that he will decide what to do next year. It’s going to be very strange this year but I am looking g forward to it.
My sister and her daughter, my mama, my aunt, my two daughters and myself always go Black Friday shopping. We like getting all the deals, eating, and talking. We have a great time laughing and just being together. I normally do most if not all of my shopping that day. We look forward to it every year!
My parents come to my house before my kids wake up. When the kids run downstairs on Christmas morning Nana and papa are there to spend Xmas morning with them. It’s my favorite new tradition!
I always make my coffee cake for the guys. It’s a recipe that was handed down from my mom. Christmas morning we will grab a piece of coffee cake and start opening gifts. I’ve also started a tradition of making prime rib for Christmas dinner. Well, I say I started it and I did, but then much to my delight, my hubby decided he wanted to cook it and I make the sides. LOL! He can have it. The boys are now grown and out of the house, but one of my sons and his girlfriend will be.coming for dinner. My other son, unfortunately is in New Orleans, while we are in Vermont, but we will FaceTime with he and his wife.

My favourite holiday tradition is Fondue on Boxing Day. My aunt hosts all the aunts, uncles, and cousins and we gorge on meat & veggie fondue followed by a chocolate fondue (with bananas and pound cake to dip – yum!) Because its such a long leisurely meal, we all have time to chat and catch up. The only downside is you eat so much LOL!
Every Christmas Eve when we return from my husband’s side of the family, we get in our matching shirts I’ve made & watch the original Grinch by Dr Seuss. The latest Grinch movie that came is also beloved by us & is watch also! Last year our shirts were Grinch themed!

We meet early in the day, play games (both board, card, and Scrabble <3 ), do jigsaw puzzles, and eat sandwiches and soup and snacks. At night, we go to Christmas Mass, and even though half of the friend group isn't Catholic, it's the tradition 😀 . Afterward, we watch Christmas movies. It's a whole day of friendship.
My family has a birthday tradition where I bake the cake for them and they are treated special for the day. Can’t tell them no day! It is fun and they look forward to their birthdays for other reasons than presents. It’s more of a game now. They now know when to ask for the good stuff. Kids get creative too. They seem to get me every year by topping the year before and catching me off guard and laughing. I love my kids
My favorite holiday tradition is making cutout sugar cookies and having my kids decorate them on Christmas Eve!
The feasts. Christmas eve surf n turf. Where we do steak and lobster 🦞 and other seafood options like king crab not this year due to None available but shrimp and mussels may be added as well. And Christmas day from a brunch to loaded supper feast of turkey dinner with all the traditional adds plus the Ukrainian feast of perogies with mushroom gravy, cabbage rolls and ham. All spent with all my kids and inlaws. Best part the men and boys tackle the dishes after Christmas feasting. No other day of the year do we ever make that much food. And surprise not a crazy amount of leftovers due to the appetites of the men and boys.
Growing up without a dad, I relish the small tradition my father in law started with me nearly 25 years ago. At the time, I had never tried whisky so he put his arm around me & said it’s Christmas so I have a shot of Wild Turkey to warm my insides before I carve the turkey. I tried it & hated it ☺️but the next year, he set 2 shot glasses out when we arrived & said let’s go daughter. My heart melted & he became my “Pops” & now I love that shot of whiskey with him every Christmas Day!
opening one gift on Christmas Eve

We love going out for Chinese food with our friends that don’t have family around. No one should be alone on Christmas. We always have a great time.
Watching White Christmas and a sit down family dinner with no phones.
The decorations. Christmas is my holiday I love decorating the house from top to bottom. Everywhere you look its Christmas. I usually start to decorating in October and they stay up till February 1. It takes days to put up and also to take down. And because its my holiday I cook the meal for my family and love it.
If I have the time and money I have a small open house with my friends who always stop by to check out the decorations and the food. Lots and lots of food, good friends and Family, but most of all Great times together.
My favorite holiday tradition is to watch Christmas themed episodes of classic television shows and the classic Christmas movies while enjoying my favorite snacks. I give myself permission to eat a little more and to watch a little more television this time of year to unwind.

Everyone has always loved my Mom’s pumpkin pies. She would make 6 at Christmas every year and we never had any left over. She passed her tradition down to me long before she passed away. I took up the tradition of making 6 pumpkin pies at Christmas. Somehow my 3 adult children have talked me into 12 pies at Christmas. I do 6 regular crusts and 6 graham cracker crusts. Again, I never have any leftover pies. They make great Christmas gifts as well. All 3 of my kids know how to make the pies, but my youngest is making the pies with my supervision. My Mom’s pies will live on!
Celebrating on the 24th instead of the 25th
No traditions in this household anymore. There’s things we like to do or to eat or something but we just do whatever feels right. Empty nesters syndrome.

Since my family has passed and my husbands family that is alive lives far away and we don’t have kids. We spend our Christmas day together and we LOVE our tradition! We make eggs benedict for breakfast, put on funny Christmas movies while opening gifts and eating goodies all afternoon. Then for dinner I make a prime rib and play TSO blasting in the living room and light about 20 Christmas candles so my entire house is lit up.

We spend the entire day together as a family with amazing food, crafts, games, etc. It usually start around 9 am and last until the the last ones leave, which is usually around 7 or 8 pm. It is by far my favorite Christmas tradition!
My favorite tradition is a phone call. My brothers and I have continued my moms tradition since she passed. She always answered the phone on Christmas Day by saying “Christmas gift”. The trick was trying to say it before she did. We never did. Now at least one of us gets to say it and we laugh thinking of what a kick she got out of beating us all.
Taking a day (or more) to myself, even if not on the actual holiday to not work and pick a special book to read with no interruptions
Our favorite Christmas tradition is to drive by this ridiculously overly decorated house a couple of neighborhoods over from ours. This house would make Clark Griswold so jealous! The are illuminated things, and sparkling things, and twinkling things, and things that move, and things that play music. It’s a cacophony of lights and sounds with every Christmas cliche being represented all at once. It’s wild and we love it!
Making Christmas tshirts with my kids to sleep in on Christmas eve.

Holiday baking has been my tradition for many, many years. For almost 15 years, cookies were what a friend and I baked. Our most productive years close to 20 dozen. Now I make peanut butter fudge, chocolate fudge, my moms party mix and a couple of different cookies (chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, etc).
We don’t really have a tradition anymore

My favorite tradition isgoing to midnight mass and opening one present when I get home from mass
When I was young we would start opening presents at midnight on Xmas Eve, like they did in the “old country” – we don’t do that anymore, but we do it Xmas morning instead.
I don’t know that it my favorite tradition, but it sure is the longest running… every Christmas Eve I spend the evening watching Christmas movies. And it never fails that my dad finds me to wrap the presents he “forgot to wrap” or that he “just found and had forgotten about”. He’s gotten to the point of just bringing me the wrapping paper and tape.😆
Looking at lights with my family. Love that tradition of ours.
We don’t have any real traditions other than we open gifts in the morning – usually only the immediate family, then we get together in the afternoon with the extended family members and have a big meal/celebration.
Baking cookies with my mom and daughter for the day. We have so much fun, especially with the gingerbread men and women. 😉
Eating yummy sweets, clearing out the old energy in our house by cleaning the house, getting rid of what doesn’t serve us, and saging every room. 🙂
I would have to say decorating the Christmas as a family.
Ever since we were kids we have always watched scrooge the musical version on christmas eve…eating Turkey and Pickle sandwiches and hot chocolate…I think that is the only tradition we have kept..Everything has changed so much since we were children.
Thankyou so much for the chance.

There is a Christmas tradition that has been passed down from my great-great grandmother: A large log would be set aside and drenched with hard liquor, then set aside to season: On Christmas evening, the log would be lightly sprinkled with booze, then set in the fire: Legend has it that loved ones who had recently died would come in ghostly form and sit with their family for as long as the log burned. I am hoping to do this next Christmas.

My holiday traditions, dragging out all the Christmas decorations and putting up the tree no matter bad my kids whine and complain about having to do it they always end up having a good time when they come across the box of ornaments they handmade in elementary school or old school pictures of themselves we have in ornament form. We have a great laugh, well they do. I try not to cry because they’re almost all adults now. We also bake/make holiday treats. It’s just a time where we all come together and there’s no sibling fighting and bickering. I love it.

Baking Christmas cookies and candies with my kids while listening to Christmas music and then making trays for family and friends as gifts
Singing Christmas carols with my family after Thanksgiving dinner! This always kicks off the season. We have held this tradition for years. And for the last couple of years, I have hosted family for Christmas dinner. It is a wonderous time with food, music, game night, matching pajamas, and the runners do a 5K the next morning.
I was raised in a house hold that did not celebrate any holidays in December. So no Christmas or Hanukkah. However I started working for Toys R Us when I was 17. So the tradition I love the most is shopping!!! I know crazy right. I worked 21 Black Fridays with Toys R Us and loved everyone. They closed in 2018 and it broke my heart. So now I go to a big box store and chat with the store employees, straighten items in the aisles and just listen the the hustle and bustle of the day. My partner thinks I’m crazy so dose my daughter. When out this year and spent 4 hours just looking and talking..
Every year I buy a picture prop for our family group pic (18 of us now)! We usually have to take a gazillion shots as everyone groans and laughs! It’s hilarious and fun!

I have two! One: Every year when my cousin and her hubby visit us here in Vegas for Thanksgiving, we do Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway! It really gets us in the holiday mood. Two: my mom and I don’t make a traditional Christmas meal on Christmas since it’s just the two of us. We make her delicious Tuna Casserole and have yummy leftovers for days!

Definitely reading the night before Christmas on Christmas eve before going to bed.

We make Christmas cookies and make a new ordainment for the Christmas tree.
My favorite Christmas tradition is hosting a gathering of family and friends on Christmas Eve. We have family and friends coming to Arizona from several places in the United States. It is a very special time!
We don’t have traditions—mostly because my husband’s dad died at Christmas when he was little & his mum hasn’t celebrated much since. She tried when the grandkids were young but not anymore. So I guess our tradition is trying to include someone during a painful time of year.
As soon as the kids were old enough, we watch as many Die Hard movies as we can in the week before Christmas. We kind of lost our traditions when my grandparents died and Christmas just wasnt the same, so we have made our own about 15 years later.
My favorite holiday tradition is making goodies with my mother. Every year we get together and make fudge, cookies, candied nuts, peppermint bark, and whatever else we decide to throw in. It’s an all day thing!
My favorite tradition has to be be the gathering on Xmas eve. We get together after dinner and hang out watch Xmas movies and before we go to bed open one Xmas gift of that person’s choice. The next morning is breakfast casserole then opening rest of the presents 🎁
Using my Moms Angel topper on the tree, cooking holiday favorites like persimmon pudding and five cup salad. Making Christmas cookies for my adult daughters .
We put on our PJs, make some hot chocolate, and go see the Christmas lights!
Christmas Eve we have a big family gathering at my mother in laws. Then my kids (5) and grandkids (13) come to our house for presents, games, and whatever else we can come up with. Then Christmas day my husband and I go to the movie theater and watch 2 movies. Then I can look at the pictures the kids send of their Christmas day.
christmas eve at my mother-in-law’s house. i have a better relationship with my abusive mom than i did when i was younger, but she’s still really passive aggressive, super judgy, and just a miserable person. her two brothers are always there, and the only way they interact with people is to pick on them. everytime we’re over there they pick on me, and my daughter. so we go over there on christmas, but we leave as soon as we can. my mil is the mother i always wanted. she’s kind and loving, never judgmental, she loves me like i’m one of her own children. so we go over her house every christmas eve, and celebrate christmas along with my sis-in-law and her family. it’s honestly the only thing that gets me in the christmas spirit.
On Christmas eve me and my family join together in our family home and put on our new x mas pyjamas and spend some time together and then me and my partner go home and either make a mini x mas dinner or have take away.. haha no in-between. Then I usually make a cheesecake for x mas day and some soup
My favorite holiday tradition is waiting until evening on Christmas Day to open presents…. anticipation all day, and stretching the joy out to the last possible moment….
When I was a little girl my grandfather was the biggest kid at Christmas. He was such an amazing man. He started the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve mostly because he couldn’t wait. ☺️ it was always something he’d get down on the floor and play with my brother and me. We’d be laughing and giggling. We kept that tradition with our children always something we could all get down on the floor by the tree and play with. It’s something I’ll always remember and hopefully one day I’ll do it with my grandchildren. Thank you so much these are amazing to read. Thank you for this chance! ❤️📚🎄
My Grandma’s Povitica. Yum!
Our traditions are to open up one Christmas present on Christmas. Eve. The present is new, matching Christmas pjs and then we make hot chocolate, watch a movie and the Nordeg app that shares where Santa is delivering presents at. It helps get the kids settled and it’s so much fun to share the time with our children.
Green cookies! Every year we make “green cookies” which are pistachio chocolate chip and are the BEST cookies ever! We are a big Polish family so we do make all the delicious Polish food every Christmas Eve 😀 Fresh homemade food is the best, of course it takes forever which is really I think why we only do it once a year, makes it that much special though 🙂 It is always such a great time!
Baking cookies with family and driving around looking at Christmas lights.
Our whole family always gets together at my grandparents house on Christmas day. We eat until we feel we’ll pop, open presents, and enjoy (and not enjoy some lol) family. Now my grandpa has passed on and my grandma is 90 and lives with me. She taught me how to cook all the favorites so now everyone comes to my house. Seeing all the family is the best present of all!
making new ornaments each yera for the tree
Decorating to get into the Christmas spirit and baking 🙂
Hanging lights and decorating the tree and house
I miss the traditions of my youth. Although no longer religious, I miss Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Life evolves and changes happen. I never had children so no way to build up traditions that way. I guess seeing Trans Siberian Orchestra each year (for the last 15 in any case) has become my tradition.
My favorite Christmas tradition is making cinnamon rolls for Christmas day breakfast
My favorite tradition is our white elephant gift exchange between all the adults in my family
Our holiday tradition has been the same for as far back as I can remember. We have a big Lasagna dinner on Christmas eve, then Midnight Mass. On Christmas morning we all get to together for a big breakfast and exchange gifts.
My favorite holiday tradition is decorating our tree with the kids who are all out of high school now (except 1 she’s almost done) and when we are done our daughter goes back and fixes it because she says it needs it lol then we have hot chocolate and cookies.
My favorite holiday tradition is making a lasagna dinner for about 25 of our friends and family on Christmas Eve. We have been doing this for at least 30 years. Our friends kids have grown up and still come back to our house for Christmas Eve. So much fun!
Baking Christmas cookies
Me and my husband always cooking the holiday dishes together. Finally our 3 years old son is big enough this year to join us. 🙂 Thanks for the chance!❤️
My favorite holiday tradition is making homemade eggnog on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve gatherings is my favourite tradition
I like relaxing on Christmas Eve with popcorn and eggnog and watching Clarence get his wings.
Getting my family together for Christmas eve. A good meal, presents, decorations. Watching my 3 year old grandson open his presents always makes me smile.
A tradition every year i do isnget new ornaments for my kids since the year they were born.
My favorite holiday tradition is my husband I put up the tree together. We decorate the house and just enjoy spending time together while we put up all the decorations.
I’m more a fan of Thanksgiving than Christmas, so I really don’t have a Christmas tradition. But one thing I like to do at this time of year that I have tried to do for the last several years is listen to the entire Handel’s Messiah oratorio. A little over 10 years ago we went to a local church and saw their choir perform the most common selections from it, and it was very moving. Several years after that I found the entire “concert” on YouTube and have watched it there for a few years. I don’t remember to do it every year, but that is my favorite Christmas near-tradition. The music is my favorite part of Christmas-but I really only like the sacred music. Not a fan of silly music that commercializes the holiday.
My favorite Holiday tradition I started with my children was while the Thanksgiving Turkey is in the oven, we put up the Christmas lights outside. After Thanksgiving dinner is all cleaned-up we put the Christmas tree up inside and decorate while we have dessert. Alas, the children have all moved away and have families of their own now. So whichever day at least one of them can come home, we do the same. The 3 of them miss not doing it, so they usually arrive at sometime during that weekend.
Every year since 1988 my family gathers together at my moms. No matter where we’re at in the world. Phone calls and FaceTime calls from those that can’t be there physically. Gifts are opened and there’s complete chaos for about an hour. My mom started this when I joined the Air Force and we’ve had family call in from all over the world over the past 35 years. It’s the one time every year that we are all together.
Putting the tree up the day after Thanksgiving and my 22 and 18 year old daughters fighting over who gets to hang the pickle ornament even though we have 2.
Everyone gets brand New PJs Christmas Eve.
We all gather at my sisters house on Christmas Eve every year and have a traditional Cuban “noche buena” complete with a port roast and rice and beans and other sides plus a sweet and delicious flan.
We started the tradition of Christmas nachos after my parents died. I make a huge spread with all the fixings.
Baking desserts and decorating the house with my daughter.
I enjoy baking cookies and goodies for everyone we know.
We have a huge holiday lights display in our city and we love going and bringing our granddaughters. A very fun family time.
We forgo the traditional food and have Chicken Fry with mashed potatoes, corn, hot rolls, ect. It is one of my favorites.
My favorite Christmas tradition is how we do Christmas Eve. Each year we cook something we’ve never had before. It started with my ex before my son was born ad we spent so much of Christmas Day trying to visit everyone (we live in North Texas and have family all over the state so it would not be unheard of for us to be in three or four different towns/cities all across the state that day). It started with things like alfredo lasagna but as my son has gotten older (almost 15) we’ve started doing foreign foods as well. We have done Russian, Greek, Indian, grabbed a random cookbook off a shelf and flipped pages blindfolded, written dishes down and drawn them out of a hat, etc. Nothing so far has been an epic fail but some have been absolutely delicious.
Baking the Christmas desserts and just spending time with my boys and my brother everything changed for my mom died 2 years ago but just getting back into it
Watching all the holiday movies with hubs and 2 kiddos. All while stuffing our faces with any snack we can find.
My favorite tradition is going to my parents house on Christmas Eve and then my grandparents on Christmas day. We have Christmas at my house the day after Christmas and my children have there’s the day before Christmas Eve. Since my grandchildren are fifth generation living we have alot of Christmases to go to.
My favorite tradition is watching Christmas episodes of my favorite cartoons.
We have every year a tradition in our family where we choose 10 of our favorite memories that year and each kid gets 10 ornaments to draw and write their memory on. Then they get to put it on the tree. I plan to when they’re 18 to give them half of their ornaments for their trees when they’re adults.
We have dinner at my brothers Christmas Eve and then we relax and open presents later so we can sleep in Christmas Day and just enjoy family
Getting together and spending time with my children
My most FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION is going through my holiday baking cookbooks and selecting cookie recipes for my cookie swaps and then spending a weekend baking with my mom.
My favorite xmas tradition is to hang all the ornaments and cards from my grandchildren on the tree and fireplace.
Hi Julie, since my family is spread across the country my favorite holiday tradition is with my chosen family (brothers and sisters from another mother) and it involves gathering together for some lite yoga, breath work, a sound bath and then an amazing brunch. A great way to let go of all that doesn’t serve you and channel in new energy for the coming year.
I love laughing with the family. I have a som and daughter and always make sure there is something fun in the stockings, so we can battle! Like nerf guns or silly string!
Every year we make a gingerbread house on Dec. 20th and display it for a few days and eat it with tea on Christmas eve.
My 5 kids are now adults and living on their own, I created traditions that they still talk about to this day and when they do come visit or we visit them during the holidays, we still do them. Christmas morning after opening the gifts my husband and I would cook a big breakfast then head out to watch a movie at the theater in our PJ’s. The kids would pick out the movie. As they grew older it turned to Christmas t-shirts. We are a blended family. My 3 and my husband’s 2. They were all in elementary school when we got together, except my youngest, she was 4. So, it was important for me to create traditions and memories for them.
We love putting up the tree and watching Christmas movies!
Christmas eve with my kids when they little, putting out the milk and cookies for Santa and the carrots and water for the reindeer.
Making Christmas cookies and watching movies
Driving around with my family looking at light displays.
My favorite holiday tradition is every year on Christmas Eve, we each open one present, regardless of how big or how small, and save the rest of the presents for the big day. We have done this ever since my mom started the tradition when I was a little girl. It helps takes the edge off the excitement for wanting to tear open all the presents and still allow you to keep the anticipation of the upcoming day. This worked really well for years until the one year that my mom purposely misdirected me to my grandma’s gift of socks. What a Grinch thing to do.
I love baking cookies with my mom. My kids now have the recipes and make them with their kids. I just love that tradition.
My favorite holiday traditions are two: Decorate the tree with ornaments I collect from every place I visit (I have a loosely definition of what an ornament should bed I have key chains, post cards, stuffed animals (tiny ones) wool decor, etc etc).
But my favorite tradition (I’ve lived overseas most of my life) is to set up either a call, a video call and now a zoom, set up a time that is not too restrictive of time zones and have a Christmas Eve dinner with my family (we are scattered everywhere). Plus the process of cooking for Christmas Eve is a lot of fun because we share pics and funny videos while prepping the food and always compete to see who made the best dish of the night. It makes me feel closer to home and my family.
It used to be making cookies with my kid to put out for Santa and giving them one present to open on Xmas eve.
They are a young adult now so I try do it with my niece when possible.
So now it’s when we all get together, most of my family, and have our holiday dinner and gift exchange. It’s one of few times we are all together.
Christmas Eve as for my family that’s the main day night rather of all the celebrations and Midnight mass;) my kids love it and I loved it when I was small we spend Christmas with my grandparents and it was so many of us like whole family! And now I try to carry on!
Decorating the tree!
I love driving around, looking at Christmas lights while listening to holiday music! Thanks for the chance to win!
We do a traditional Polish Christmas Eve with all the non-meat fixings (pierogies, borscht, etc) and do our gift exchanges then, too., On Christmas day we’re more modern in our feast of ham (for those who eat meat) and mac-n-cheese. The only gifts ever given on Christmas day are the stocking from “Santa.”
My favorite holiday tradition is every one opening a gift on Christmas Eve after baking cookies, drinking Cocoa, and watching classic Christmas movies.
My favorite holiday tradition is putting up the Christmas tree and all the decorations. ❤️
My favorite tradition is our cookie baking weekend. My kids, grandkids, and others get together and bake our Christmas cookies.
My favorite holiday is Christmas, cliché I know. My grandmother and I used to make hundreds of Christmas cookies, candies, and snacks for all my aunts/uncles and cousins. We’d talk about everything and nothing and spend days baking and laughing. It’s been 11 years without her and I wish every year I could have 1 more Christmas with her. ❤️
Hmmm we dont really have any traditions. I guess one we do is just having a Christmas lunch instead of dinner. We tend to have Christmas crackers with corny jokes!
My favorite traditions is buying a real Christmas tree the weekend of Thanksgiving with my 2 boys and husband then going home and decorating it together. We also always have Coquito (Puerto Rican coconut drink – just like egg nog but made with coconut and Bacardi) Love it!
Watching christmas movies in PJs with hot chocolates, and opening presents at 12 am!
Watching a scary movies on Halloween and eating popcorn
My favorite tradition is riding around looking at Christmas lights with my family
My favorite tradition is making cookies and candy with my herd
Our family’s Christmas Eve is my favourite tradition. Around noon, my sister, nieces and parents come to our house and we start setting out snacks. Any friends who are alone for the holiday are welcome. As my husband and I are both first responders, any on-duty crews are invited to come grab some food (we have containers available if a call comes in!). We sit and chat, remember those we lost over the year, and listen to Christmas music…and EAT!!
In the evening, we go to church for the Christmas service, then all go home to sleep and meet up again the next day!
Looking at the Christmas lights and decorations.
My favorite holiday tradition is baking snickerdoodle cookies.
My favorite holiday tradition is baking cookies and making chocolate covered pretzels with my children and now grandchildren.
My favorite Christmas tradition is spending Christmas eve with my daughter, granddaughters, their spouses and my great grandchildren. Christmas day is also special as it is spent with my son and daughter-in-law.
Mine has finally come to an end … I’ve been scouring stores for years for a nutcracker … or 5 or 6 to give my sons for Christmas each year. I have to admit that I may have gone a little crazy, but they liked them enough to one their names on the bottom so they couldn’t claim each other’s. The display took over the house for a while and sadly my 2 grown sons have declared, enough. Maybe I just buy one and stick it in with the crowd of wooden characters and see if they notice. Party poopers.
We have 2 traditions. First one on the Saturday after Thanksgiving we go to my Nana’s house and have a chili potluck and put up all her Christmas decorations. The 2nd is me and my son always spend either Christmas or New Year’s with my ex in-laws (his grandparents). They have a great relationship with him and still think of me like a daughter. Oh 1 more I’ve started doing is buying matching pj’s for my nieces to open on Christmas eve to wear to bed for Christmas morning.
My favorite holiday tradition is to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas while wrapping presents. It just makes that chore go so much faster when I can sing along to You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch.
My favorite Christmas tradition is taking My Dad who is 98 years young out checking out the Christmas 🎄 decorations and boat parades. Then downtown to check out all the streets lined up with decorations. This year is Special because after doing all these great adventures down here in Florida We will be flying up north to be with my Big Family. There is nothing like a celebration of 20-30 people partying together and checking out all the decorations including a trip to see the sights of NY.
My favorite Christmas tradition is baking cookies. When my sons were little, they would help.
My favorite Christmas tradition is on Christmas Day while we open presents we eat my Gran Gran’s Cheese cloud. It’s made with yummy goodness with LOTS of cheese. Mom used to make sausage biscuits to go with it. Last year I changed it up and my son was not happy about it. So this year I’ll be going back to the original recipe.
My favorite Christmas tradition is making homemade Pierogi with my aunt and daughter for Wagalia (Christmas Eve polish tradition)
Every year I get the kids a new ornament in their stockings they can take with them when they grow up…sometimes more than one.
Making Christmas ornaments with my kids. And spending time with family and friends
My favorite holiday tradition is watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “White Christmas” on Christmas Eve.
We love to get hot chocolate and a snack, pile in the car, and drive around looking at Christmas lights.
My favorite Christmas tradition is wearing matching pj’s with my daughter who is now 24 years old. I started wearing the same pj’s with her when she was less than a year old when I saw the matching set at the Disney Store. Our tradition now is to find the pj’s on Black Friday when we go out together and then wait until Christmas eve to wear them.
I love decorating the house and baking holiday treats. It’s something that helps make our home feel festive and bright and helps my mood.
My favorite holiday tradition and decorating the house. It’s quality time with my husband and son. Ever since my son was little before I got married, we had our own traditions. Each year Santa would bring him a special snow globe, and now that he’s grown I still buy a new snow globe to put under the tree for him even though he knows I’m Santa.
My favourite holiday tradition is stocking get hung and filled. We open them first before breakfast or opening gifts. Gives us time to wake and enjoy our day ♥️♥️ plus then I don’t miss when my kids open their gifts.
My favorite holiday tradition is taking my mini me around to look at all the pretty lights. Especially the ones that are set to music those are the best!
Each year the kids get a new ornament and they’re the first to go on the tree. When they move out, they will have at least 18 ornaments for their first tree.
Driving/ walking around looking at Christmas lights
Our family tradition is to open 1 gift Christmas eve. Only 1 guess as to what it is….. New PJ’s. Then Christmas night my parents make a huge prime rib roast and we have a beautiful meal and do the holiday poppers as we sit around after. It’s always so much fun.
My daughters dance ballet. Every year they perform in the Nutcracker. The first 2 weeks of December are just magical. The production is beautiful and I just love watching my girls dance.
Opening a present on Christmas Eve.
I love how you put this all together.
Thank you
My favorite tradition is having my family over on Christmas Eve. I remember going to my grandma’s house as a child. It was my favorite thing and a memory I always cherish. I try to put out the same candy on the same tree plate she made in ceramics. I love the quality time we spend laughing and joking!
My favorite holiday tradition is making sorrel drink. It’s a Jamaican Christmas tradition and the drink is made with the sorrel buds, ginger, spices, red wine and white rum. Really delicious and I look forward to making it every year
My favorite holiday tradition is having Oyster Stew on Christmas Eve.
Watching Christmas movies.
I am going to have to find a new tradition and I haven’t started that new thing this year. I’m still trying to decide what to do. Every year since Brittany was a baby we have had her an ornament made for the tree. So my tree is full of 21 ornaments.. The last one was her engaged ornament that I actually took to her and it is now proudly hanging on her tree. I love these ornaments so much since she got big enough to pick what was super important to her that year and get the ornament that reflected that year in her life. A set of headphones, fire dept ornaments when she joined as a junior fire fighter, an ipod, she competition shot in middle and high school so I have a shot gun ornament for me tree. Yes, I need to let her have the opportunity to have them if she wants them. She has always said she did but I just could not let them go this year. Maybe I’ll try next year. Your baby getting married and leaving is hard. But I’m adjusting and loving seeing them accomplish big things.
Trimming the tree

My favorite tradition is spending time with my son. There is nothing better.
My favorite holiday tradition is getting time with just my family. Parents use to have a Group home for boys. Being the only girl was hard. At this time of year all the boys that kept in touch would show up at Christmas.
I like the alone time with family plus we all do sandwiches on Christmas eve so nobody has to slave over the stove all day. That time is for Christmas day but we all help out. Plus we each have something to make so it’s not all on my Mom.
A must is to watch White Christmas which is becoming harder and harder to find and watch. I usually have to go and ask Google when it is playing. So many people I know have never seen it.
My daughter and I watch White Christmas and bake sugar cookies,
Helping my mom make the 12 meatless dishes for Christmas Eve dinner!
We always try to squeeze in the best of the Christmas movies 🍿. I also love to bake
My favorite holiday tradition is to make “Grandma’s Sweet Potatoes”! They don’t have marshmallows and instead have tons of brown sugar and butter in order to candy them. It’s a favorite family recipe and we forget all about the calories for the holidays. oh–and they’re a devil to make. TONS of burned sweet potatoes if you’re not careful.
waffles on christmas day
Christmas Eve day,we spend at my youngest sister’s house, baking and decorating cookies. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years and it’s grown into more of an open house where the kids’ friends and our friends will stop by to say hi,have some pizza and decorate cookies to take with them. We have so much fun comparing cookies-the girls are so meticulous and the boys like to see who can make the craziest designs!
The past few years have been very weird for us, so we don’t really have any “traditions” lately
Christmas Eve. It started as procrastination and a tight budget. My husband and I would wait till the last minute to buy the tree, turns out if you wait till Christmas Eve you can get one for next to nothing, then I would spend the entire night wrapping gifts and decorating the tree,. It was exhausting but waking up Christmas morning and the kids seeing the tree with all the gifts for the first time became my favorite memory. Now I have the kids over for Christmas Eve dinner and my girls and Grandsons decorate it for me, it’s a win win.
Going out to look at light displays and playing Christmas Light Bingo with my family.
Going with my grown children to see the Christmas lights is a must. Every year!

Favorite holiday tradition is baking Christmas cookies with my nephews.
Baking with family and sharing memories
For the longest time, I love the mystery of who left and gift bag full of new pajamas at our door each year. Sometimes we would come home on Christmas Eve and find a large gift bag waiting for us. Other times, the doorbell would ring and nobody would be ther, but new pjs would be. It took years for the kids to figure out that it was me. Now that they are in their 20s, simply playing board games and laughing at ourselves is my favorite.
This has been a tough couple of weeks for us. My marital unit had to have his big toe amputated last Sunday due to vascular issues in his leg. He had a procedure to open his femoral arteries but it was too late for the infected toe. So what we’ll be doing is kind of up in the air. Usually he and I exchange stockings on Christmas Eve and go for a Christmas brunch at a family home with children and grandchildren.
I have an Italian mother that sadly doesn’t cook as much any more, so going to our favorite Italian market to pick up Christmas dinner and some Ricotta cookies is my favorite new-ish tradition.
Christmas eve pizza
My friends and I (our kids all went to kindergarten together) come together once a year to have a baking marathon for christmas. This year we spend 8 hours making lots of treats. It’s a lot of fun, because some of the kids (they have all finished school) still come to help and eat :-). We tried to recall how long we’ve been doing this and we aren’t quite sure. Must be around 15 years now.
I have none, I just like spending time with my family

Decorating the tree, we have lived all over due to military and I always put up my tree, This year though I added my mom’s ornaments since she passed.
We like to go driving and look at the Christmas lights. Sometimes the other family members join us.
Baking cookies with family
Getting together with family and opening stocking presents. Then celebrating my sister’s birthday
Family Christmas Get-Together – grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, children, and babies.
My brother has MR. So every Christmas Eve I send a special letter to Santa and he delivers presents a day early. His smile is the best !
Family get together 😊
I’ve had so many traditions over the years some I still cling to but some have been replaced as I’ve adapted to the emptiness of my nest. I’m close to my children and grand children but they don’t visit home often…which means I can wrap gifts with the music as loud as I please while sipping on a Santa’s Little helper- my new favorite tradition !!
Recipe- 1 T candy cane syrup (El Guapo) 2oz booze of your choice (I’m a whiskey gal) 2 dashes of spiced cocoa bitters (I use El Guapo) poured into a mug of hot cocoa, generously topped with whipped cream. Puts the Merry in my Christmas gift wrapping !
My kids have gotten an ornament (some years a couple of ornaments) for things that represent them that year- each ornament has a box with the explanation for that ornament and why they received it. Each year when we put up the tree, each kid has to read each story before they hang their ornament. Everyone has a ton of laughs as we relive our memories!🎄🌟
We make Christmas cookies every year and give them as gifts.
I make coquito. Its a traditional drink during the holidays from PR and I keep the tradition here in NY.
Every year, my husband and I gift eachother a new ornament representing the year (whether it’s a trip we went on, buying our first house, etc). Then when we put up the Christmas tree, it’s like walking down memory lane.
We buy a new Christmas ornament every year to represent the past year.
Making Christmas cookies with my boys, then sitting down to watch a Christmas movie!
Helping my oldest son grill the Turkey on his pellet grill he saved up for(he has Asperger’s)
This is a two-part answer, because what we used to do is over and what we do now is different. Our boys were 8 and 10 when our daughter was born. So we had two separate childhood eras in our family. For about 25 years total, we would get together with other kids and parents from our neighborhood and go Christmas caroling, share food and drink, and then Santa would stop in and hand out small gifts for each child (that had been dropped off and labeled in advance by their parents). We loved it! Now my kids are 20-30 years old, so we don’t participate in that tradition any longer. So our new tradition (with the daughter who still comes home during breaks from college) is to read Christmas stories together in the same room with classical music or Christmas jazz playing in the background. We also love to bake together. We sometimes play card games or other games from childhood. We love to drive around looking at Christmas lights as well. There are so many things worth writing about that I couldn’t limit it to just one. 😉
My favorite Christmas tradition is driving around looking at all the holiday light decorations.
Baking. Every year me and my family bake all types of cakes or pies that’s usually made during the holidays. My husband does the pies and me and my daughter make the cakes. We are sous chefs for each other as she is older now and does most of the work. All except fruit cake no one in my family eats it lol.
If I say not having a holiday tradition is a “tradition” will you hold it against me???
My family loves Christmas lights. We will drive around enjoying them all. We tend to have a lot of lights set up around the house. My son, who has autism, loves the lights.
One of my favourite Christmas traditions is our annual local card/present delivery. Myself and the 4 kids would load up into the car with our Christmas jumpers and hats, with Christmas songs playing and go around the village and local area delivering our Christmas cards and presents to friends and family whilst looking at all of the festive Christmas lights etc. This year it’s down to just myself and my youngest (17) as the older 3 are at University or living away from home now. Maybe I’ll have to take the dog or let the Hubby come along 🤭
I always baked with my Mom and after she passed away my daughter and continued the baking and now we have my 8 year old granddaughter bake with us.
There are no longer any “kids” remaining, so there is no longer any getting together.
Making Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve with the grandkids 🥰
My favorite holiday tradition is making my grandmother’s Christmas cookies leading up to Christmas. Every time I pull out their recipes and get busy with mixing, rolling, and baking I can feel both of my grandmothers in my kitchen with me. The cookies taste amazing too. The cream cheese pastry horns and the cinnamon star cookies are my two favorites.
I love baking cookies with the grandkids.
I love having family over & cooking Christmas dinner. I have not done a traditional Turkey the past couple of years. We bought a beef tenderloin (usually enough for 8-10 people). I love watching people open my gifts – it’s so much fun watching them open my gifts & see their happy faces (or sometimes shocked)! Having family together is a joyous, fun time!
We always buy a new Christmas tree ornament every year and have Boxing Day ‘tree’ presents to extend it for another day.
Making mince pies.
My favorite holiday tradition is baking cookies with my kids. Growing up, I always baked Christmas cookies with my Granny and I love that my kids now ask to do this with me each year.
Holiday Tradition usually involves Minnesota Sushi (pickles wrapped in cream cheese and pastrami (or corned beef) and a brown sugar ham with Pineapple. After we stuff ourselves, we exchange gifts then have pie.
A few days before Christmas Eve, my mom, my daughter and myself will make all kinds of cookies. On Christmas eve my dads side of the family comes over for the 13 dishes of fish for the Italian fest.
I would have to go with decorating the tree as it becomes a family thing and we spend time decorating and just do silly things while decorating. It’s a way of bonding and just letting lose with each other.
Baking cookies with the 5 generations of women in my family. 94 years young to 20 years old. Always a fun time.
It’s a newer tradition, but we decorate sugar cookies with my niece and nephew on Christmas Eve to leave out for Santa.
My favourite holiday tradition is honestly spending it with my family. I am fortunate enough to still have my parents (91&86). I don’t have a large family, but what I do have counts. Also, my son and sis that I make an apple pie because it’s tradition… Therefore I am not allowed to buy any fresh apple pies from any store lol. I enjoy doing this for him. And I am teaching him how to make an apple pie.
When our kids lived at home, it was opening one gift Christmas Eve before going to midnight mass, but now that they are all married and have their own families, we are only able to get together one day to celebrate Christmas. So, our newest tradition (still working on it, lol) is starting a Christmas puzzle when the first of the family arrive, and each person helps put it together over the course of our time together!
I love the day of putting up the tree and decorating. I remember where I got my favorite ornaments. many are from my sister over the years and I remember each Christmas of us together.
Baking and decorating Christmas cookies, making gingerbread house with my family & Making our own ornaments.
My favorite holiday tradition is making cookies with my kids.
My favourite holiday tradition is binge-watching tons of holiday movies with my family while stuffing ourselves with junk food. Lol.
A newer tradition is decorating Gingerbread Houses with the grandkids. Only been at it for about 10 years, never gets old!
My favorite Christmas tradition is game night at my aunt house. Every year we get together for Game Night with the entire family. The house is full with love as we pair off and compete at games that my cousin either created or brought. What a blast we have every year. I also love the food my aunt cooks and the desserts are delicious once a year we all over eat and enjoy everyone company so it is a sacrifice we all enjoy….

Hard to choose a favorite tradition, but probably hanging ornaments on the tree with my kids. We all have our own ornament from every year since birth so they are full of memories.
My favorite tradition would be cooking and baking
We have a tradition to brake the bread with every one individually whan you wish them all the things you want to wish them, health, money, success…
The best part of it is to listen to children wishing…- my 4 year old son eg” grandad I wish you that you don’t go to jail” or” Gran I wish you had less wrinkles” ,
Putting out all the Xmas decorations & putting up the tree! Christmas Eve having dinner with my family & opening gifts
watching favorite classic movies, playing with new toys, and laying around in pj’s all day on Christmas.

I love the time after the kids go to bed and my husband and I have time together getting everything ready. Then in the morning when we wake and spend time together.
go to see light shows
We always go out to dinner at the same restaurant for Christmas eve.
We do a progressive dinner with 3 other families! It’s a long Evening, but it’s a lot of fun and good food.
Baking, decorating and wrapping gifts with my momma.
My favorite holiday tradition has always been celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve. We would open our gifts and have our big dinner on Christmas Eve because my grandpa’s birthday was Christmas Day and my grandma always made sure to celebrate his birthday. Even after he passed we still had our Christmas on Christmas Eve.
My favorite holiday activities include singing carols, making and decorating cut-out sugar cookies like I did with mom and grandma, and reading to my grandkids.
I come from a large family and we always have a large family Christmas… all cousins, aunts, uncles… Every year we do an ornament gift exchange. We all stand in a large circle with our ornament then in the middle my grandma would read the Christmas Story from the Bible. Every time she would say “and” you would pass the ornament. After grandma passed, we continue the tradition, all taking turns reading the story. My collection of Family Christmas ornaments are my favorites!
We are a family of traditions and if we miss any of them or try to change them, there is a chorus of complaints. They are all my favorites. Before Christmas we go to our local historical site where we participate in activities that were common in the late 1800s. We also bake lots cookies with everyone helping on cookie day. Then Christmas Eve we have party with our family and my daughters’ in-laws family. We have our big turkey dinner and play games. Then Christmas Day we all get together again to celebrate my husband’s Christmas birthday and exchange gifts. We put out our favorite foods that we just snack on all day as we play more games and the grandkids invite their friends over. On the 26th we stay in PJs and just veg all day. On the 27th we go to the imax theatre to watch Polar Express.
Our favorite holiday tradition is bring food, and honestly just being a family. We don’t have much of one left❤️❤️❤️.
Hi Julie
I love to bake mince pies. My mother taught me as a child and I know my dad appreciates these since she has passed as it is a little reminder of her. x
My favorite Christmas tradition is simply getting together with my kids and grandchildren! Nothing better
I love watching Christmas movies and spending time with family. I would like to start creating new traditions as well. This year we have been perfecting paper snow flakes.
My favorite favorite was making swedish meatballs with my grandmother. She’s passed this year so meatballs will be bittersweet. Second is meatloaf dinner ala A Christmas Story with a competition for mashed potato creations.
Making caramel pecan rolls with my mom every year!
Making cookies and desserts with my daughter and nephews. My daughter and youngest nephew are 3, so they are really going to enjoy it this year.
Christmas Eve boxes are a favorite tradition too. New Christmas pj’s, a book, and some snacks for a family Christmas movie.
Watching classic Christmas movies with my family.
Ever year the kids get to pick out a new ornament and they are the first to go on the tree. When they move out, they will have at least 18 ornaments for their first tree
Watching A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve and the joy of watching my daughter open her presents
My favorite holiday tradition is going out to see the lights. My grandmother used to take us years ago. We would drive through the neighborhoods and see all the lights. We would go to Shoney’s afterwards for cocoa to warm up. We still love the lights. And now I can share them with my son.
Watching A Christmas Story on Christmas day, eating tamales and watching the kids (not really “kids” anymore) open presents!
Not sure if we have any traditions now that I think about it… Growing up my grandmother always had to have a real Christmas tree and we would decorate it and place a few things all around the house. Does eating a specific dish count? 😂
Pork shoulder with either mashed potatoes and or mac and cheese.
My favorite holiday tradition is having all our family together and spend the day together!

Getting together with my two sisters and all the nieces and nephews to make Christmas cookies and candies! Thanks so much for the amazing giveaway!!!
This might sound silly but every year when we decorate for Christmas we get an order of Nachos Navidad and an Apple Grande from Taco John’s. This fast food is indeed festive and gives us the energy we need to get all the decorating done…plus, it doesn’t taste too bad either.
Thanks for the great giveaway and Happy Holidays!

My favourite holiday tradition has to be gathering my husband, our 3 children and their partners and going to our favourite spot on the jetty at the river to go crabbing. We take a hamper full of goodies and eat fish and chips while everyone takes turns pulling up the crab nets and squealing while trying to catch the crazy crabs running everywhere. It’s always a laugh and they are super yummy to eat later with crusty bread and fresh crisp white wine 😍
My favorite Holiday tradition is picking out our Christmas tree. I grew up with real trees and I love them. I’v cried over them when I was pregnant with first child. when we had kids in the house we got the fullest trees. Now we are empty nesters and the sticker shock is too much, we are scaling back. Serious sticker shock this year. I still don’t want to switch to an artificial tree. Charlie Brown tree here we come.
My favorite holiday tradition is having a feast with my family on Christmas eve.
I always program the car radio to the Christmas station right away, baking cookies, and making a spice cake are favorites every year.
My favorite holiday tradition is watching holiday movies!
Growing up, food was a huge part of every holiday. I loved to cook, bake, and eat!! I loved cooking and baking for my family, even as a young girl. As I got older, I became even more passionate about cooking and baking. After receiving my degree in Art History, I had every intention of going to Culinary School. I wanted to become a pastry chef. Long story short, I started to become sick with a lot of infections, began to lose a lot of weight very quickly, and just overall, started to have a ton of health problems. I went from doctor to doctor, in search of answers, all the while becoming more sick. I’m 5’4” and got down to 89 lbs., even though I was eating a ton of food. Nobody could figure out what was going on with me. I finally saw a doctor who discovered that I had Celiac Disease (along with a whole host of other autoimmune diseases and other health problems). This was back in late 2003/early 2004. I had to go gluten free, and then due to other health problems, I had to go dairy free, egg free, yeast free, soy free… And the list goes on. Needless to say, all of the things I loved to cook, bake, and eat, were not allowed on my new “diet”. However, I was always very creative with food, so even though I couldn’t replicate the things I absolutely loved baking for the holidays previous to my Celiac diagnosis, I created from scratch, really tasty cookies, pies, brownies, dessert breads, etc., that were free of gluten, dairy, egg, etc. I was actually planning on opening up my own business, catering to people with special dietary needs. However, going gluten free only helped with a few of my symptoms and I just continued to get more and more sick. As the years went on, more and more diagnoses started to pile up. At some point, I just became too sick to cook or bake, which was absolutely soul shattering. The holidays are actually a very difficult time for me, because I can no longer cook or bake or even eat the foods I once loved to indulge in, during the holidays. Over the years I’ve developed tons of sensitivities to foods, and I have terrible reactions to almost all of the foods I once loved to cook, bake, and eat. On the bright side, I can still eat dark chocolate, which I love. If I could no longer eat chocolate, I would probably go insane. Lol.
Christmas Eve dinner
Thanks for the chance!
When my mom, aunt, and uncle were kids, my uncle asked why they celebrated Christmas. My grandma explained it was Jesus’s birthday. My uncle insisted that Jesus needed a birthday cake. From then on, my grandma made pineapple upside down cake every year and called it Jesus’s birthday cake. My grandma and uncle are both gone now, but my mom still makes pineapple upside down cake every year.
