DAY 5 – 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS – 2025 – CREEPING BEAUTIFUL

  • Giveaways, JA Huss

Welcome to my annual 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS!

If you’re new to this – here’s how it works:

1.   Each day from December 1 through December 12 I will put up a new giveaway HERE on my website with instructions on how to enter, a detailed description of the prize, and some stuff about the book or series. Each giveaway is different and each has ONE WINNER. MY GIVEAWAYS ARE ALWAYS OPEN INTERNATIONAL

2.   Each giveaway runs UNTIL DECEMBER 13.

3.   Winners are CHOSEN and NOTIFIED on December 14. I will be notifying winners USING THE EMAIL USED TO COMMENT ON THIS BLOG – and all winners will BE LISTED AT THE TOP OF EACH GIVEAWAY POST HERE ON MY WEBSITE on December 14.

4.   Winners have 24 hours to respond, then another winner will be chosen.

5.   ALL PRIZES WILL BE MAILED ON DECEMBER 15.  If I’m waiting on a winner to respond and they miss the December 15 mail date, that prize will be mailed when I get around to it. I live in the middle of nowhere so a trip to the post office is a “thing” for me. 🙂 So make sure you’re checking for winners on the 14th.

6.   I will send newsletters announcing giveaways on December 1, December 6, December 12, and a Winner newsletter on December 14. I NEVER send this many newsletters in a month so sorry if that feels spammy.

7.   You can also FOLLOW MY BLOG. I will also make a blog post HERE announcing ALL WINNERS on the 14th. If you want to follow this blog there will be a form at the bottom of each post to do that. Then you get an email when I POST HERE. I don’t do that often – December is the exception because of the 12 Days and my yearly “Wrap-up” post.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

THAT’S IT! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THIS!

All prizes this year are self-care book boxes filled with holiday and luxury items

NOW LET’S GET ON TO THE FIRST GIVEAWAY!

MY ANSWER

DISCLAIMER – CLAUDE AI WROTE MY ANSWER AFTER I RAN THE MANUSCRIPT THROUGH IT FOR A MARKETING REPORT.

I just thought this particular aesthetic was pretty fun when I read the analysis.

So this is what Claude pictured when it ‘read’ Creeping Beautiful…

VISUAL VIBE

Think Gone Girl meets True Detective Season One shot through humid Louisiana filters. The aesthetic is decay and beauty intertwined—Spanish moss dripping like secrets, swamp water reflecting distorted faces, antebellum architecture hiding modern horrors.

Muted greens and murky browns punctuated by shocking moments of red (blood, berries, danger). The cinematography would favor tight close-ups of eyes (trust issues), hands (violence/tenderness), and reflections in water (fractured identity).

Imagine David Fincher directing a southern gothic with Jessica Lange’s color palette from American Horror Story: Coven—everything looks expensive and rotten at the same time. Cassette tapes, fireflies in mason jars, childhood swings that witnessed adult atrocities.

The movie poster: Indie’s face half-submerged in dark water, eyes open, with three male silhouettes reflected above her.

^^
I thought that movie poster vibe was amazing because it makes Indie into an alligator… and she lives in the swamp, so it’s pretty fun. 🙂

My book vibe is vivid sharp and thought provoking. It makes me think on if only I was standing in this universe, I may never return to my own. It’s fantasy and reality but not in my lifetime. (My imagination isn’t that good, glad your is). It’s reach for the stars or the spell books or that cute hunk next door, it’s new and eye-opening costars. it’s all so eclectic and mixed emotions it’s never boring. As long as it’s not my mundane reality it’s refreshing and exciting. It’s all the Laughs and tears and OMGs. It’s All the feels and dreams all wrapped between to covers of a new world.

I like dark with lots of spice, I like a plot but will still read a book without one. I always try to finish every book no matter what. Since I was a kid I have always admired the way writers could write in a way that you could visualize exactly what they were describing.

That AI blurb was pretty accurate to what I was picturing when I read Creeping Beautiful! That’s trippy. My book vibes change by the day, but are usually dark, dangerous, I picture lots of forest green, deep purples and navy blues when the pictures in my head have color. I hope that makes sense.

I us AI to help me structure and compose my book review always based from my notes, so I actually asked “Alex” (that is what I call him 😂😂😂) and because he know what I have been listening to he helped me with this.
“My book vibe is dark romance with gothic edges, mafia, vampires, witches, morally grey characters. I love spice when it drives the suspense, immersive narration (especially accents), and cliffhangers that keep me hooked. (But you like to binge complete series if they have cliffhangers) Even in twisted plots, I always find the humour.”

Pretty bang on. Missed maybe like strong plots and books that intertwine

Yall. I’ve been watching Yellowstone recently and thought to myself I’d love to read about a gorgeous Native American man with those long pig tail braids down the front and he’s actually a Native American God or maybe some type of shapeshifter. Or maybe not maybe he’s just total alpha male like Kocoum from Pocahontas. And he meets a damsel in distress and they fall in love. But there has to be such good plot bc I need depth with my spice. I haven’t read about any Native American bad asses and I fear I’m missing out.

I would have to say, currently my “vibe” is warm summer days in a small town. House set off the road backed up to a national forest. A town with one main street, lots of cool little shops, everyone knows everyone, but it’s a tourist town so this lends to lots of strangers swarming, and the most likely suspects when someone starts stalking the single mom who runs the florist shop. And her lifelong best guy friend who has secretly been in love with her all along insists on staying with her to keep her safe.

While I love dark visuals, and I wear a lot of black, I love colorful books and sweeping views. As a reader, I need the gorgeous cover (and the story) to grip me so much I can’t bear to leave it on the shelf. Couples in romantic clinches, one-color dominant covers that set the mood, and something significant to the setting in the background.

My book vibe changes with my mood I can go from dark, twisted and dirty, too sweet fantasy, too cheesy romance. I’m a sucker for a pretty hardcover with artwork that doesn’t give away what type of book I’m reading. I love when it’s got a cover that doesn’t have a sexy guy on it but it’s so dirty it’ll make you blush in public and nobody knows why.

The cinematography was such a part of the movie. It doesn’t have to be sinister just description of deep jeweled tones. Just put that in a MC or mafia setting and I’m good to go. The darker the better with a little bullied damsel in distress thrown in.

One day I might want a sweet country romance with some sexy cowboy and then the next I might want a thriller or a dark romance. Let’s me honest, in my real life I would not have a sappy romance with some overly sweet guy. I like them right, tough and bad, just be good to me, so I like reading it too. But sometimes I don’t want any romance at all in a book.

Im a series girl but the more crossover and connection with characters the better I need to be left guessing about those conecti9ns and how they effect the plot and right now I am more dark and smarty but the smutt can’t just be there for its own sake it has to still fit in

My book vibe is kinda all over the place. I’m a mood reader so it solely depends on how I feel. Sometimes it’s dark so the aesthetic is reds black and white. Sometimes it’s playful so yellows and pinks and purple. And sometimes it’s just calm so neutral tones.

Mysterious, dark, with a heavy plot and very atmospheric. Cover? Preferably with no couple on it, but truly, that doesn’t really matter!
Thank you for the chance, that’s definitely one of my favorite series by you, if not ever!!!!

I had to read some of the other comments because I have not heard of the terms you used for the question. I don’t know who Claude is nor did I really understand a lot of what he said. The world’s changing and I seem unprepared.
To take a stab at an answer I like dark romance with tearjerking conflicts that lead to HEAs.

It honestly depends on my mood, sometimes dark is to heavy for my life at that time, others it’s just right. I also live strong fmc, small town mysteries. Really I’m all over the place. I like it all.

I don’t have a certain “vibe” I prefer, I just lean towards a good twisty plot, good character development, and some sort of redemption (not necessarily a HEA)

Game of Gods

GODSLAYER

Spark is light.
Spark is power.
Spark is deadly.

Tyse never asked to play the Game of Gods, but Delta demands loyalty.

With Clara at his side, Tyse is thrust into a brutal world of augments—humans forged to serve and destroy. Each step forward pushes them closer to becoming something more—a force Clara can feel but doesn’t fully understand. A future that terrifies her as much as it draws her in.

Day by day, the man Clara pledged her loyalty to becomes more and more a stranger. But in the Game of Gods, survival demands sacrifice.

Clara has already done that once—she’s certain she can do it again.

Jasina and Finn left Tau City in ruins, vowing to end the Extractions by destroying every god’s tower. But the train line hides dark truths. Forgotten people cling to survival. Towers rise from the ruins of erased cities. And deep in the shadows, a godlike AI watches, weaving its own agenda.

Jasina has always been the strong one, the leader. But the train line holds secrets that cut deeper than she’s prepared for. Truths about spark. About the gods. About herself.

And Finn—the man burdened by his failures—is rising to find his strength.

But can Jasina ever fully trust him?

Godslayer is an epic, spicy, and angst-filled Romantasy that begs the question … how well do you really know your God? And how much are you willing to sacrifice to save him?
