Welcome to my annual 12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS!
If you’re new to this – here’s how it works:
1. Each day from December 1 through December 12 I will put up a new giveaway HERE on my website with instructions on how to enter, a detailed description of the prize, and some stuff about the book or series. Each giveaway is different and each has ONE WINNER. MY GIVEAWAYS ARE ALWAYS OPEN INTERNATIONAL
2. Each giveaway runs UNTIL DECEMBER 13.
3. Winners are CHOSEN and NOTIFIED on December 14. I will be notifying winners USING THE EMAIL USED TO COMMENT ON THIS BLOG – and all winners will BE LISTED AT THE TOP OF EACH GIVEAWAY POST HERE ON MY WEBSITE on December 14.
4. Winners have 24 hours to respond, then another winner will be chosen.
5. ALL PRIZES WILL BE MAILED ON DECEMBER 15. If I’m waiting on a winner to respond and they miss the December 15 mail date, that prize will be mailed when I get around to it. I live in the middle of nowhere so a trip to the post office is a “thing” for me. 🙂 So make sure you’re checking for winners on the 14th.
6. I will send newsletters announcing giveaways on December 1, December 6, December 12, and a Winner newsletter on December 14. I NEVER send this many newsletters in a month so sorry if that feels spammy.
7. You can also FOLLOW MY BLOG. I will also make a blog post HERE announcing ALL WINNERS on the 14th. If you want to follow this blog there will be a form at the bottom of each post to do that. Then you get an email when I POST HERE. I don’t do that often – December is the exception because of the 12 Days and my yearly “Wrap-up” post.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
THAT’S IT! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THIS!
The world is INSANE right now so I’m just trying to spread some cheer and give back to all of you who support me and enjoy the stories I create.

“Unique story and Top Read 2021”
Cort van Breda has won 35 death matches as a fighter in an MMA circuit so deep underground there are no rules and only the winner gets out alive.
They call him the Sick Heart.
They say he’s a shameless monster.
They say he’s a ruthless killer.
They say he’s as twisted as the man who owns him.
They say a lot of things about Cort van Breda.
But in our world violence is money, and money is winning, and winning is life, and life is the only thing that matters.
Except… he wasn’t meant to win that last fight.
And I wasn’t meant to be his prize.
But he did.
And I am.
And now his sick heart owns me.
WARNING: This is a sweet love story adrift in an ocean of evil. It is about two survivors dealing with their darkest secrets while they fight to change their lives. It is for mature readers only and has descriptions of deeply disturbing situations. There will be pearl clutching.

NEW RELEASE IN 2023
SICK HATE
Irina van Breda escaped the hopeless life she was born into and started a brand new one in America all by herself. She has everything she needs—a condo in South Beach, a new accent that doesn’t betray her dark origins, a brilliant best friend, and an easy life of walking the beach and feeding the gulls.
But she is merely existing—until Dead-Eyes Eason Malone appears, asking questions. He knows who she is, he knows where she came from, and he’s got a plan for her. A plan that could help him get over his own tragic beginnings.
Irina and Eason are on a collision course with the truth—and when they finally come to terms with what really happened to them as children, it just might shatter them both into millions of pieces.
Sick Hate is the second book in the Sick World Series. It is a standalone but new readers should start with Sick Heart first if they want the whole story of Irina’s past.
What you can expect inside the pages of Sick Hate:
*DARK Past
*Friends to Lovers
*He Falls First
*Slow Burn MF
*Touch Her and Die
*Sick World/Evil Bad Guys

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SELF CARE ITEM OR EXPERIENCE?
MY ANSWER
The horses cure everything everything for me. I get on and ride down the road, and the world just goes away. But… aside from that, if I had to pick one self-care item that everyone (pretty much) can do, it’s a bubble bath. I have a huge tub. It’s not that pretty and it’s got those stupid jets in it–which don’t even work anymore. So it’s not one of those glamorous tubs you see on Instagram or anything. But it holds like 70 gallons of water and I can practically swim in it.
These products I’m giving away in the 12 Days are almost all from Margot Elena, which I LOVE. They are super pricey–like ridiculously pricy. So every time I order from them I feel massive guilt. BUT–if one is going to take a self-care bubble bath–and one is ME–then I want some really nice bubble bath!
So I get the Margot Elena Bubble Baths and that’s the best self-care thing I do for myself.
Today’s prize for Sick World is my favorite of all of them because it’s got two things I love – the Let Them Eat Cake Lotion and the Kiss-Kiss Lip Balm. Tokyo Milk is a flashy brand for Margot Elena and all the tins and stuff, all the packaging, it’s so beautiful. Sometimes I will just buy a little lip balm because I love the packaging so much. And I don’t throw it away, even though I have no use for it, I just can’t bear to throw it away. It’s too pretty.
Also, the Tokyo Milk brand is musky – a nice scent that has sex written all over it. I like a lot of sweet scents. And florals too. I’m not usually drawn to the musky ones. But I LOVE this one.
So whoever wins this one — I’m jealous!
HERE’S A SNEAK PEEK OF TOMORROW’S GIVEAWAY!

Definitely a massage and a fancy lunch…not something I get often, but wonderful when it happens!
Love to read in a quiet house. Would love to soak in a hot tub but have to make due standing under hot water in the shower to just decompress.
Cucumber mask and a bath bomb soak.
I enjoy my monthly pedicures. I enjoy a massage when my pain level gets beyond bareable.
I enjoy my monthly pedicures.
I love to read! Books are my self care “sometime” Oh and throw in a massage and its perfection 🙂
I love to get pedicures 🩷
My Hemp Lotions.
As a new mom, it’s become harder to find time for myself. But audiobooks are my lifesaver. I can pop one headphone in and do chores, chase my so around and when I’m nursing. It’s the only way I keep sane. Haha
As much as I hated ballet as a kid, I always feel better after class now. There’s so much that goes into even just standing up properly or walking that there’s no room left in my brain to worry about anything else.
Self care is something I should focus on. In general it comes in the form of a nap.
My self-care is regular mani/pedi’s. It gives me a few hours of nothing to do for anyone else and gives me reading time as well.
I love Kiehl’s Microdermabrasion scrub. After that and moisturizer my face feels so smooth and nice.
My Favorite selfcare is getting a Pedicure once a month , also reading
Taking time to read is my ultimate self care.
My selfcare is getting a massage–90 minutes of pure Zen, babeee!
Selfcare is pedicure and manicure
My favorite self care item/experience would have to be wine and cuddling with my favorite dog! I know I’m not supposed to have a favorite of my pack of 8, but anyone that knows me knows without me saying who my favorite is. He quickly becomes anyone who comes into contact with him favorite as well. Reggie is just a special guy. He’s a three legged rescue pitbull/staffordshire bull terrier mix that had some sort of bad accident when he was 8 months old resulting in the loss of his leg. I worked in rescue at the time and our group pulled him from the shelter after they operated on him. I was the lucky person to bring him home and it was just love at first sight, he was not going anywhere 😂. 8 years later he’s still the bestest boy anyone could ever ask for. His cuddles are the BEST self care experience!
My favorite self care item is my Tarabusi Creek body scrub. It makes me feel like a new person.
Favorite self care is a nice hot bath with bath products (right now I’m really enjoying Origins Ginger) and a good book.
Definitely a massage and manicure.
Self care for me is puzzles, reading and music! I love to dance too 💃🏽
I love a massage but get these rarely, reading is my escape on a daily basis
My selfcare is also taking a bubble bath. I also like to light some incense before I soak in the tub. It’s wonderful.
My self care through the warmer months is my garden, still needs lots doing to it but it takes time as I end up sitting watching the buds on my feeders. In winter it’s knitting but has to be e something with a pattern and all year round it’s reading……….just one more chapter ❤️
Taking my dog for a walk to my favorite place. Fresh air, exercise, good company and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world
I’m a lip balm addict! They don’t even have to be high end, just within reach when I need it.
My favorite self care experience is a hot bubble bath with a good book and mug of tea.
My favorite self-care item is one of those electric callus removers. It’s done wonders for my feet. I didn’t realize how uncomfortable calluses are until I finally got rid of them. Never letting them come back.
My favorite self care experience has to be Reiki. I always feel centered and calm after a session.
My best self care I do for myself is just giving me time to breathe. I’m in pain all the time so just stopping what I’m doing and breathe for a minute helps.
I’ve always wanted to do a self care on myself like a message or facial but I feel guilty spending money on me.
Also, my Grandson helps me with self care he gives me time to enjoy life and not think of all the stress I have in life.
My new favorite self care this year has been learning how to drain my lymph nodes. I have been obsessed with watching videos and learning about it. It has been a game changer for my allergy and sinus congestion and I rarely have to take any meds which has been my goal. Thanks for the chace, I love Tokyo milk!
My favorite self care is massage. I’m not a touchy person, so it feeds my soul in a way I didn’t think was possible. It allows me to check out for a while and get in touch with my body. I’m lucky there is a good massage school near me with cheap massages that I can indulge myself without too much guilt.
My favorite self-care items are face masks. Sheets, creams, peel-offs, all of it. I have an embarrassing amount of each in my bathroom closet. They all target something different too.
My favorite self care item is a face mask. Slap it on and give me 20 minutes of peace and quiet and that’s all I need during the week to make me a little better.
Moisturizer. I’m late to the game on this but moisturizer is a must have for me. It’s the ONE item I will spend a lot on for good quality.
Other than that, bubble baths & books are my indulgence for self care. It relaxes me & is good for my mental health.
My self-care items are crystals, specifically rose quarts, and black tourmaline as well as essentail oils. My self-care experience is movement, stretching, exercising.
Sleep was always the first thing I sacrificed to the time gods. Once I stopped doing that and prioritized getting at least 7 hours in a nice bed and maybe a sleep meditation, life got dramatically better. I became more resilient and more capable, more able to care for others. Shit sometimes still happens, but I was surprised by how regular I was able to keep my sleep once it became the first priority instead of the last.
Sick Heart is one of my faves and I have saved Sick Hate for my Christmas break from school which starts today!
I like to take a long bath while listening to an audio book.
Foot massage. My sore feet love them.
We don’t have a tub in our bathroom, just a shower so I will occasionally buy a shower bomb or shower steamer and just relax in a hot shower with the beautiful scents. Lush has some really good ones that I usually buy while I’m staying at Planet Hollywood for the LoveNVegas signing.
Self care for me is a hot tub and a good book. Or my recliner and a good book. I like to just shut the real world for a few and get back to me.
My absolute favorite self-care experience, besides time with my bestie or my mom, is to go to the lake and look for beach glass. The sounds of the water and waves is so soothing and the simplicity of looking for glass calms and quiets the mind. I’ve also started to get into puzzles lately. It really helps calm my mind and body.
My favorite self-care “thing” would be good smelling hand lotion. I only buy the more eco friendly products that are low on chemicals.
My favorite self care is a daily walk outside around our neighborhood. It’s a bit over 2 miles. This walk helps me to clear my head of stress and to get my thoughts in order to begin my day. As long as it’s not raining, I’m walking.
Making time for myself to read a good book. 321 was my first of your books,, and now I’ve read them all. I’m amazed by the way your mind works and the wonderful tales you tell. Thank you
Self care for me is relaxing while sipping a hot beverage and reading a book.
I am terrible with self-care but as I enter my 40th year I am trying to be better. I really like to just loose myself in a good book world. To walk away from the craziness of my house and just enter a different world is totally therapy for me.
My favorite self care is getting a pedicure spa and a manicure. It’s really the best feeling. Thanks for the opportunity!
My puppy, is the best medicine. Was diagnosed with Cancer at the beginning of the year & lost all my energy, feeling a lot better & getting my energy back & Tommy is helping with the best cuddles.
My favourite self care is taking a good book and soaking in the tub!
It is so dry in Colorado. I am not a fan of “stuff” on my face, so I don’t moisturize like I should. Until I found Bamboo Earth. My self care is taking the time to pamper and moisturize my face with Bamboo Earth products.
I love a pedi and mani. It’s just so nice not to have to do it myself. A day being just plain lazy. Hang out in bed or on the couch with a good book is great.
My favorite self care items are always food and books! Food items change with the season for me, it’s whatever I crave at the moment, could be a well known comfort food or something new. And I’m always looking for a variety of romance books to help soothe my soul 🙂
Any form of retail therapy is my go to!!
I love Rose water. I spritz it all the time on my skin for the feel and smell of it.
Starbucks, I treat myself to at least 1 latte a week.
Horses are my answer again 😂 I’m rubbish at self-care in other ways. Horses magic away the stress without even trying so they will always be the answer 💗
My self care is tea, a book and alone time on the sofa. Well, the dog is welcome for snuggles but that’s it LOL!
Hello Julie, my favorite self care item is coconut oil or lotion right out of the shower. My skin can look scaly without the added moisture.
My husband takes the kids and I go for an hour massage.
My favorite form of self care is walking and listening to music
Selfcare for me is super important because I have so many health issues. I love to ger massages and facials. Mys skin gets so dry and it really helps. I love getting manicures and pedicures.
My self care item is, and always has been, a book. I read to escape and alleviate stress. The mentally alone time is what I need to face “real life!”
My self care is a little bit different. I cuddle my Guinea pigs. I have one that loves to tuck his head right up against my neck under my chin. They are expensive little furry potatoes. But if it has to be something actually care related it would be bath and body works. I love some of the scents they have and usually tend to get the whole set.
I go to the Y for a water aerobics class. Heated pool. Friends. It’s the best
My self care item is, and always has been, a book! The mentally alone time definitely lowers my stress, and the escape from reality gives me the energy to address the demands of “real life.”
Self care for me is a good book and some quiet time.
My favorite self care experience was a massage. It felt so good!! I also make time to get together with my best friend of 47 years. We go to dinner, or to get our nails done, or go to the local cat shelter and spend time with the furry babies.
I haven’t been able to do this as much as I’d like lately, but I’d love a day where I could get a chiropractor adjustment, a hot stone massage, a pedicure followed by a good, savory meal. Once my bones and muscles are relaxed and my belly is full, I’d settle in bed with either a horror movie or a good audiobook and relax until I can fall asleep.
For me, I need to see and hear the ocean, it’s an automatic stress reducer and I always feel better afterwards.
My self-care, that I love more than anything is giving myself a facial. I also love being in the hammock with a good book and a glass of sweet, iced tea. I live for that.
I love mani/pedis, trips to the hair salon or massages but those aren’t very frequent. A good coffee, a great smelling candle and quiet time when a book works most of the time.
Reading is always my go to self-care. Second in line is the monthly wax.
My favourite self care item is my silk pillowcase from Blissy. I did extensive research and this pillowcase is exceptional! It’s not only cooling (perfect for hot flashes), but it also helps prevent hair breakage & bed head as well as stops those terrible morning face wrinkles! I turned 50 last year and that was my gift to myself and it’s worth every penny spent!
Getting a Mani pedi and a spa day
I also love soaking in a bubble tub. I get a massage sometimes, but my favorite is probably just sitting in the Florida room with a glass of wine and a good book. With a “Do Not Disturb” notification to all the fam.
When I was working I would get a monthly massage. It is amazing how much a regular massage can help. I will start these again when I’m back to work. Currently it’s baths. I bring in my kindle and soak and read!
My self care is reading a good book! If not that than I like playing in paint shop pro with music going.
A nice long bath with candles and music. I also really enjoy a facial.
My doodles are about as good as I get for self care. An semi annual pedicure is nice. LPN 40+ yrs buzy doing care
Reading a book without any interruption lol
Taking a long walk on the beach is my favorite way to decompress and simply breathe. There’s nothing quite like it. Thanks xx
My favorite is a pedicure, it’s a luxury to me and I enjoy it. I very rarely get them. I make a mess when I paint my nails so it’s exciting to have a professional do it. (I absolutely love Sick Heart!)
I don’t do it often enough but I love going for a massage. It feel totally indulgent!
Reading! I love to cuddle on the couch and read . It’s a great escape!
My favorite self care is getting my nails done. I like having my nails and toes done monthly. It makes me feel nice and together when I can look at my nails done all pretty.
Wow;! self care – I love to hide away and read. Live in other worlds and just go on an emotional roller coaster ( not my own)
I love a good facial scrub!
My favorite self care is a body serum and body cream. I finally found one that firms and hydrates. It makes my 65 year old self feel good.
Mine is reading! I love to get lost in a good book.
Reading or listening to audio books, wine, and long bathes.
I really don’t have a fav self care j i have to use stuff that is unscented and for sensitive skin
Getting my eyebrows waxed. I hate plucking and always feel like an entire new person walking out.
As a busy mom of two children, it’s hard for me to find time for self care. One of my favorites is to just sit down and listen to a book knowing that it’s okay to take a break from the laundry and dishes and Chaos of motherhood. If I had money, my favorite thing would be to get a massage every week. But that’s in my other life. Lol
Sunbathing and listening to an audiobook. Don’t get to do it this time of year though ☹️
My favorite is being able to curl up in a chair and read with NO interruptions for an hour or two, that is absolutely heaven to me.
I’m a huge fan of Rosemary and Olive oil 🙂
I love being able to relax when getting a manicure or a massage.
My favorite self care is facemask, wine and a good book.😊 And silence. Silence is everything with a 3 years old. Pure gold!😄 Thanks for the chance!❤️
my self care is severely lacking. sadly I put my kids wants and needs before my own. but I love getting pedis with a friend.
My favorite self care item is my jade roller!!
Getting a mani/pedi and just sitting on the front porch with a book or listening to nature.
My favorite self care is either reading or diamond painting. Occasionally I like to take hot baths with scented Epsom salt and just relax to take my mind off everything.
I love going for a long walk(with my JA Huss book playing).
I love getting massages and facials. I treat myself a few times a year to each.
Love audio books and an occasional pedicure.
Getting my nails done or buying a new book
Definitely a girl’s night out! Sometimes you just need to take a night off from being a mom, wife and employee and just drink some wine and vent with your girlfriends!
A bath and a good book…the perfect escape!
I recently discovered Hero cosmetics. I had just used them before for their tiny patches but I learned they have this whole supply of cleansers, body wash, etc w moisturizers that include retinol and having used Proactiv for a number of years, I would say that both are pricey, but the Hero products appear to work much much better. And in a relatively short amount of time. (At least they did for me.) The Retinol Rescue is one of the products I truly love & there’s a specific moisturizer for beneath one’s eyes that I’m probably the only one old enough to need that. But I find it really soothing.
My go to always for self care is reading. I read anywhere from 4-6 hours a day and then my husband and I enjoy our time together. After 49 years of marriage these books help make our sex life better than it’s ever been.
I love going on th St Johns River on my cousin’s boat. It is very calming for me. I also get on a lounge float in my pool and blast some music
My favorite self care experience would have to be taking my dogs for walks on wooded trails, nothing better for clearing the mind!
My favourite self care is getting a pedicure. Always makes me feel special.
I went to massage therapy school, so nothing beats a good massage. I also like to just have quiet time to write but I’m a homeschooling mom of 3 who are all in sports AND other activities, so quiet time is a rarity. 😂
I find it very relaxing to go on my friends boat for a cruise up the St Johns River. A lounge float in my pool works well also
My favorite self care is definitely a night out with just my husband and I. I know it’s not what most people would say but to me it feels like “selfcare”. We don’t get lots of time for just the two of us between his work schedule and out kids lives.
I have a few self care favorites! My go to–cuddling w my dog blaze! I also love to take a bubble bath and read and lastly I have an amazing massage therapist and when I can afford it–I will go for a 2 hour massage w fire cupping!!! I suffer from migraines so alot of my self care is just trying to get through the pain!
Spotify and a pair of headphones. Music is my escape and allows me time to live in my own world for a little while.
Listening to music and reading.
My go-to self care experience is cuddling with my cat (she LOVES snuggles). When I am seated or lying down, she comes and sits on me and starts purring, and even if I’m having a bad day, she makes me feel better. Not glamorous- but she is a marvelous being.
Going out eat , or shopping, getting my hair done , or even watching a good movie …
My self care is reading or hanging out with friends when possible. Just anytime to myself is great.
Taking me time and saying, this is what I will be doing today regardless of what else is or isn’t going on around me.
I fail at self care. Before I clicked on your blog I was literally thinking about some self care that I really need to get back in my life.
One thing I do that is some self care is read. I read pretty much every day, but I also really enjoy pampering myself with pedicures and bubble baths; but I never do it. I have wanted to get a full massage for years but I feel guilty ponying up the money to do it. And I never ask for it as a gift.
I fail, but I know self care is so important
My self care is reading for sure! Reading helps takes the stress away by taking me to another place. I love pedicures and that is my luxury self care which i didn’t do often at all.
Not something I am good at unfortunately. Being the sole income due to a disabled husband and raising 3 kids, and the another once the first were grown. Left no time for ME. I was always working, driving, shopping, cooking, Cleaning just generally never stopped. During covid, I made reading a priority and it’s was the mental vacation I needed. Then the last 7 months I have been going to get mani/pedis and have been enjoying that time just for me. I know it’s not huge but for me, it really is.
My self care go to is listening to 70’s music…namely Bread, Grassroots, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Three Dog Night…with a dose of Barry Manilow and The Carpenters.
Definitely the sound of the waves. The ocean calms me, relaxes me, and soothes me to my core! Since I don’t live by an ocean; I have a sound machine that I listen to. It helps but it’s not the real ocean.
My favorite self care item is a massage, girls night put with friends, Getting my nails done or just taking a nap!
My favorite self care is always reading. There are times reading is my life raft. I love manicures also, but don’t get them very often.
My favorite self-care is a hot shower a nice relaxing day to myself where I can get my nails done or do my hair
My favorite self care is reading or listening to audiobooks
Golfing and hanging out with my friends
My self care is on my 2 days off work is laying in bed all day with the sun shinning in my room, and ready a book it gets me out of my head and life and it’s so relaxing completely, that is my self care when you can afford to do a spa day or nails and toes done!
My favorite self care is to get an occasional massage. They make my body feel so much better afterwards and less tense
I love going to get a pedicure and manicure
For me, my favorite thing is to sit on the porch of our cabin with a cup of coffee and my earbuds listening to an audio book crocheting. I know it makes me sound like I’m 80 but I’m really not.. It’s just so peaceful and relaxing. I feel like I’m in another world and nothing can bother me. I get so engrossed in one of your books that I can sit there for hours. There have been times that I’ve had to turn the lights on because the sun has gone down and I don’t want to stop listening. By that point I’ve switched to a glass of wine. Thank you so much for all of the great reads!!
Pedicures are one of my favorite ways of practicing self care. If I’m going all out, a massage is great too. But my daily self care is reading!
A long, hot soak in the bath with Epsom salt with a wonderful smelling wax on the warmer, followed by a face mask.
My way of self-care is reading. It lets me leave the stress of the day to day and immerse into an entirely different world. I love seeing the worlds, people, and events in my head play out as I’m reading. It’s my escape and my happy place.
Moisturizer, listening to music, and reading are mine. I feel good and they make me happy.
My self care is a hot bath and a good book. As far as self-care experiences. I like to go to Sedona Arizona for a day or two every year or two years rejuvenates me.
My self care is every 3 months I get my hair cut and colored. Also reading takes me away from the madness of this crazy world
Candles and a bubble bath and face mask
My self care I guess would be reading or doing a crossword for 30 mins before bed to wind down
My self care is getting a regular massage. I used to have migraines and the massages helped with them.
Nothing unique to this group! A very long hot bath with a kindle and/or an audible book. I like the bath jets on mostly to drown out any house background noise. Clears my mind of responsibilities and loosens up tight muscles.
My regular self care is reading or the occasional mani/pedi, but my ultimate self care is going to a concert. Live music just feeds my soul and brings me so much joy. I have zero musical talent (seriously, I can barely play the radio), and am amazed by the talent of musicians and am grateful for their generosity in sharing those talents. Much like I greatly appreciate that you share your writing talents with all of us crazy fans.
This may sound a bit crazy but my favourite self care experience is setting out on a journey in my car, handy snacks next to me, sat nav guiding me to my destination and, most important of all, an audio book telling me a wonderful story. In fact Sick Heart this way, as well as many more titles from JA!!
Honestly for me it’s reading! I love having some quiet time to myself and enjoying a good book!❤️❤️
My self care is a cup of coffee and a romance novel or cheesy movie on Netflix. I lock the doors turn off my phone and just chill for a couple hours.
I love getting messages.
Taking a long hot shower with a vapor fizz bar that gives off a nice lavender scent.
My self care would be a good book and my dogs.
The Sick World is stunning! I’ll never forget the ending of Sick Heart!
My favorite self-care would be a massage or a walk in nature. I haven’t done either in too long. I guess that’s why I feel down. Thanks for the reminder. I’ll get up and go outside for a walk after I finish writing this.
Hi Julie, it’s hard to pick a favorite as self care has become a big part of my life, so here are a few – time with a select group of friends who are all healers in their own way, alone time, travel, massage, reiki, napping and spending time on a ‘local adventure’ with my dog.
My favourite self care thing to do is at 6am every morning before anyone is the house is awake I take the quietest most peaceful shower I’ve ever had. Happy holidays guys 🎄☃️🎅♥️
Having the house to myself. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen often 😕
My self care is traveling down to Alabama and seeing best friend of 30 years. We go to the beast, kyacking, boating, or just sitting together on her front porch catching up on life.
I love having Reiki sessions on myself. This is a way to balance my energy and helps with healing.
Massages are my biggest form of self care and I’m really bad about making the time for them if I’m being honest.
My favorite way to self-care is wearing cozy pajamas, sitting on my favorite chair, drinking a coffee and reading a good book. Ahhh, bliss.
Self care is something I have a hard time doing for myself, but when I do I Love a great massage!
I actually have two self care things. The first is spending time with my 3 great grandchildren. I feel as if their love refills my heart & soul. The other is my 4.5yo Rottweiler, Jaxx. He’s my companion and gives unconditional love no matter what or how I feel. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone!!!🎄🎅🏼
Bath time with a book and a glass of wine
I love talking little getaways with the kids. Watching get to swim in the pool and having a good time always makes me smile. I also love hitting the casinos 😉
Thanks for the chance 💕
Manicure/Pedicure – always just makes me feel better all over each time I see the way my nails look.
I love pedicures and Epsom salt baths.
I started doing Pilates at a new studio down the road. I don’t think I am any good at it but I feel better afterwards and I feel a little stronger.
A Chinese foot massage… it is intense and an extraordinary relief…. especially when combined with the hand massage that goes all the way up your arm to your shoulders! Sigh…. ; )
Having no one else in the house which doesn’t happen as often as it used to. My son works from home more than he’s in the office. I just love how quiet the house is and I can do anything I want which includes singing my heart out and dancing around. Oddly enough I also enjoy shouting at the top of my lungs. It releases something.
My dog makes me take a step back, slow down, and enjoy life. When I need support, he’s by my side. He does something silly when I need a laugh. I think he knows my moods better than I do.
Turning music up super loud and just being
I’m not a primping person at all, bare minimum. But I regularly get my eyebrows done. It feels so decadent 🤣🤷🏻♀️
I love make-up. Always makes me feel better when I look nice.
Baths with Epsom salts and bubble bath and bath bombs combinations are good for me. Also book regular therapeutic massages using my works health benefits to pay for them
Testing myself to a mani/Pedi or massage.
My favorite self care or experience is reading and writing books for fun.
I love to take a hot bath and put on a face mask while listening to my favorite authors and narrators!
my favorite self care indulgence is getting my hair and nails done
Omg, I get the horse “thing”… when I was pregnancy cranky my hubby would say “go visit your horse” <3.
No horses now, but front porch looks over our 25 acres…. Holds flowers in summer.
Great for reading or a cribbage game.
I meet up with a good friend once a month for a day hike – we both feel such a weight lifted from our hearts after spending time together enjoying nature!
I enjoy sitting on the deck with my dog Riley and just relaxing.
My favourite self-care experience is reading. I LOVE reading especially romance!! My kindle tells me that as of today I have read so far 873 books. So yes, getting lost in a romance novel allows me to destress and relax and a bubble bath is just cherry on top 😊 I am so very happy I found your books thank you so much for the many hours of reading pleasure JA Huss!!
At this age my favorite self care item is my wax pot.
I had my first facial about a month ago, and it was heaven! I plan to get many more in the future. Thank you for the chance!
I love taking hot baths with hemp seed oil Epsom salts.
A long hot shower
Pedicures at the salon with gift cards my family gives to me for my birthday!
Every Friday afternoon, as long as I’m able to wrap up work early enough, I grab a book and a large coffee from Starbucks and enjoy an hour or two of relaxation getting a pedicure at my local nail salon. It is my favorite self-care activity and the best way to kick off the weekend for me!
I love to read!! It helps me escape from the daily grind of life!!
I love scented body wash/lotion/spray! I layer it up, ha! Happy holidays and, thanks for the chance 🎄
Sitting and enjoying either my morning coffee and a book in the morning before the family gets up or a glass of wine with my book in the evenings when I can hide from said family!!
This might sound weird, but my favourite self care thing is actually either going for a new tattoo, or barring that cost, getting myself some sugar hair removal. It’s somehow cathartic for me. I find if i go in either place stressed or anxious, by the time I’m finished, it has all melted away. I think it’s the physical act of removing or changing something on my skin, or possibly the pain sensation that seems to relax me. But when money is tight or i’m passed the point of reminding myself to take care of me, it can be difficult to swing financially. I actually haven’t had a tattoo session since before the pandemic, but i dreamed of one the other night and let me tell you something. Even imagining the act helped. So maybe it’s time to pull out my not yet inked designs and see about changing that. With sugaring, there’s the added benefit of not having to shave for five or so weeks, plus it helps eliminate the process altogether in time, and as someone who now struggles with lengthy processes, it’s a welcome service. But it too costs a lot so i guess i’m just gonna have to save up and get it done again soon. Such great questions so far. Can’t wait to answer more. Thanks for all you do. Happy holidays! 🎄💕
It’s too easy but for me it’s audiobooks. As someone with misophonia IT.IS.CRITICAL that I be in charge of what goes in my ears. Audiobooks have given that back to me. I got into them about three years ago and since then I usually have at least one earbud in at all times. I can’t express just how much my quality of life has improved. ❤️
Curling up with a good book and escaping to a world of make believe.
My self care includes reading! I’ve surpassed my yearly reading goal. I’m at 304/300. And the year is not over. I also enjoy going to get pedicures with my daughter. Spending time with my family also helps recenter me each week.
Reading for sure. I started reading this year and it has been life changing for me. I may go a little overboard board at times lol
My self care is exercising and reading
My favorite form of self care is getting dolled up! Something about it just makes me feel better about myself
I like getting a massage.
Quiet time with a good book and coffee scented candle. Long hot shower.
I love reading, it takes me to places and seeing things I otherwise wouldn’t go to and see things I wouldn’t be able to see.
Bath with bubble bath or Epsom salt and essential oils.
Definitely curing up with a good book and allowing myself a couple hours of quiet alone!
I love a good pedicure!
A nice long hot bubble bath is my favourite self care thing to do
I love taking long hot baths, sometimes with a bath bomb
I love a good bubble bath too! One of my favorite things to do. A good book and some nice hot weather. Usually with just some salts. I don’t usually splurge on expensive salts or bath products, but I can just imagine how they would make you feel!
i’m not very good at self care, so i think my most important self care item is my best friend badgering me to take a damn break every now and again
Pedicure! Love getting the hoaves cleaned up and painted.
Favorite self care is reading and crafting
My absolute favorite self-care item(s) are audiobooks. They are a complete splurge and they give me the impetus to take my walks, and I need all the help I can get!
My self care is a medi/pedi and reading a good book. Or just like yourself I too love getting on the back of my horse and letting the world float away.
A massage!
– Betul E.
My self care is lying in a hot bubble bath for an hour or two, scented candles, a glass of wine and a good book.
Definitely a nice massage! Thanks so much for the chance!
Simple self care for me is reading a good book (like Julie’s, of course). However, after a really awful day, I just cuddle with my dog. Then I read.
Reading, running, and sitting in my car when I get home from work! The “me time” alone in my car is the best. I read (physical or audio) , listen to music or take an uninterrupted nap. Highlight of my day!
Massages!!!
Reading, in any form, is my escape. If I’m busy running around cleaning, shopping, or taking care of life in general, I’ll listen to an audible book and Connors my tasks. If I’m not in the mood to do anything, then I’ll own av physical book or my kindle. That’s when I take time to stop and do things for myself. If it’s a new book and I don’t want to be disturb, I put a note on my she shed for that term then all to F off because momma is reading and ya’ll can take care of yourselves! Lol lol my youngest child is 18, so I know they don’t need me every second of every day. I love that books can take me anywhere I want to go, without having to leave my home.
My self care is either audiobooks or music. I love to sing but can’t hit any key 🤣 So I turn up the music and just sing anyway.
My first favorite thing is spending time with my kids and grandkids ❤
Second is reading; now that my kids are grown and I’m retired I’ve been able to read most anytime I want!
I go and get a mani/pedi every few weeks. This helps relax and center me again. Than I also read to.take myself away from reality for a few hours a day.
I like getting massages.
My dogs have been a god sent. My husband and I have been married for 20 yrs and gone through so much. They have gotten me through my depression, anxiety, and arguments with hubby. Needless to say they have saved my life and kept me going.
My absolutely favorite self care is sitting out on my deck in the evening, listening to music and looking out to the forest I am blessed to live in. On a good night I will add an Al Fresco manicure or maybe a face mask.
I like to light a candle and get lost in a good book.
For the first time this year I treated myself to a massage. I’m 57 and never had one before. It was delightful and I’m trying to commit to going at least monthly to relax my body and mind.
My favorite way to fit in self-care is to take a random day off work every couple of months and plan to just read for the day. I don’t do any sort of chores and I usually only go out to get something to eat so I don’t even have to cook lol
My favorite self care is a pedi, and then a quiet night in front of the fire with a good book!
As a solo Mum of 4 it’s hard to get a break but I love to unwind with a really good book that helps me escape for a while or snuggle with one if my 4 cats or 2 dogs. Kids are all teenagers so no longer like to snuggle anymore.
My friend gave me a gift for a relaxing massage after the birth of my son. It was so relaxing I fell asleep on the table, leaked milk over their massage table and I may have passed gas when I woke up! Funnily enough I haven’t been back since!! So now to relax I just curl up on the settee and read a good book with a lovely cup of tea!
I love swedish massages, but don’t treat myself nearly enough!
🤔 chiropractic adjustment followed up by a deep tissue massage and a long soak in the tub.
My favorite is getting a massage but I rarely get them because they are so expansive! My practical answer is I cuddle with my dog or I put on my noise cancelling headphones, put on my favorite music and shut out the world for 30 min 🙂
Self care, what is that? lol! It’s hard sometimes to find time for self-care, but I LOVE to read and so after I finish all my daily to-do I try to sneak in some time to read before bed. Added bonus if I have my comfy blanket and light some candles.
I get my nails done sometimes, and it makes me feel empowered for some reason and I like that feeling.
My favorite self-care is getting a professional facial peel. Skin feels so soft and smooth. Luxury for me!
My favorite self care item is my e-reader. I am a devoted reader, and I would be lost without a way to easily read anytime I want to.
My favorite way of self care is a pedicure. Not only is it relaxing but it’s a good way to spend time with girlfriends and catch up.
A good book, nice drink, cozy place to sit. Decompress from life in my favorite worlds.
Reading takes my stress away I can stop overthinking and worrying for a while. I used to have a huge tub as well nothing fancy and I loved taking bubble baths we moved about 5 years ago into the country and this house has a smaller tub but recently I have started taking bubble baths again and I love how relaxing they are. I will have to check into that bath but I am the same way every time I spend money on myself I am like I could of got my kids this or that or did this my kids are grown so now I am trying to do more for me.
My normal go to for self care is to read a book, cosied up in my oodie and the house being quiet. Sometimes I need to move to regulate myself and for that, I do a Poundfit class by Pound, Rockout, Workout. The absolute buzz from that gets me through 😊
My self care would be hanging out with my sister. We always have fun and most of all laugh a lot.
My Self care must
DARK CHOCOLATES: I need some daily to keep my mood calm, still having hot flashes & Dec. 5 I’ll be 62!
I take a bath with lavender epsom salts every night before bed.
Watching a movie in a hot bath is always my go to, just to relax and take time for myself!
If I hadn’t of read your post I would have had a difficult time thinking of what I do?
We have jets in our bathroom tub, but I don’t use it as much as I should!
Other than that, I use the breathing app on my watch.
Great skin care products that enable a long, hot soak in the bath tub.
Recently had my first ever facial and I’m gonna have to make it a regular thing…
Pedicures! I get one every three weeks. That’s my pampering.
My cat Cali is my everything. When I’m sick in bed she sits vigil on the bed and follows me everywhere. When I’m depressed, she’s the one tapping me with one claw on the shoulder and meows in my ear (literally) and when she knows I’m feeling good she wants to play. If it wasn’t for her watching over me, I would be a lonely soul at home. My friends call her my therapy cat.
A pedicure! The massage chair, the warm water and occasionally they offer wine…heaven!
Going for a walk and listen to an audio book
My must have self care items include books and skin care!
Taking a bubble bath and reading a good book.
That’s funny, I have a fancy tub with jets that I seen to clean but never use. My favorite self care has to be Jafra Royal jelly. I’ve been using it for years and I absolutely love it. A nice massage every once in awhile is also a favorite. Especially because I have a girl who is great. Very therapeutic. LP
Pelvic floor therapy. I advocated for myself and it’s the best thing I could have done. It’s helping with my pain tremendously.
I love sipping on coffee with a good book in a hammock or a hot shower.
Spending time with my dog is the most theraputic thing I can do to take care of myself!
I like going to get a pedicure and a message for self care. A day out with my best friend for lunch and shopping is also fun.
I love to treat myself to a salt float. It’s so relaxing.
My favorite self care item is my wand. It gives me exactly what i need and never lets me down!!
My self care must is AUDIOBOOKS! Like, this is one of those things that if my husband did the math for how much I’ve spent on audiobook library I think he would stroke out. I have nearly 1300 audiobooks and even if you calculate the cheapest cost for all those books it is a number I don’t want to think about. Regardless, it is my escape and I love it!
Reading and long walks are my favorite self care activities.
Favorite self care item of mine is to be able to listen to audio books on my way to and from work. Since I work 1 1 1/2 hours away, it is a great way to wind down and relax.
Reading a good book in a hot bubble bath (I can be in there for hours!). Chocolate and either a soft drink or wine are an absolute must.
My favorite self care activity is getting a manicure and pedicure. I don’t do it often, usually do my nails myself, but going to have a professional do it is heavenly to me.
My Guinea pigs and my heating pad I guess
My favorite is a pedicure. I’d say a bubble bath but our bathtub sucks lol
Audiobooks! Definitely Audiobooks. My favorite thing to do is escape reality for a little while and get lost in fictional worlds. I do this daily. Mostly in the form of audiobooks, but occasionally I read. It’s more convenient for me to listen vs read. I sometimes have difficulty focusing on tasks or actual work and I have found that if I listen to audiobooks while I work, I am more productive. I discovered audible in 2020 or 2021 and have nearly 700 titles in my library. (which only includes books I’ve purchased. Books that I listen to free either via the plus catalog or kindle unlimited are not included in my library). Over 60 of those titles are yours! I can’t wait to get new ones!
I would have to say, a nice warm shower with moisturizing, good for your body soap. Then it’s all about the moisturizer and the right amount. The serums and creams for the face that fade to brighten, blend to lightening. Then a cozy place to curl up and relax.
Hi! Self care for me is anything in bed… A movie, reading, eating, whatever. Getting completely off my feet and zoning out. For me, I need to shut my brain off to really relax and I can only do that if I am horizontal lol. 😀👍
My favorite self care experience is when I have nothing pressing to do for the day and I can just stay in my pj’s and read all day.
My favorite self-care activity is anything in my bed. Reading, watching a movie, eating, whatever. I can’t seem to really unwind unless I am completely off my feet, so I loooooove just hanging out under the covers!
Reading in a bubble bath
My self care thing I like to do is wait until everyone goes to bed and stream movies that only I like and cuddle with my 30 pound cat. Of course eat chocolates.
My favorite form of self-care is and always has been diving into a good book, whether an old friend I’m reading for the umpteenth time, or a new find I can’t wait to dive into. Books–the ultimate self-care! <3
Mine would be getting a manicure. I’ve only gotten a few in my life for special occasions, but I really love getting a manicure.
The best self care in the world is the Finnish sauna! It doesn’t matter how tired you are, but afterwards you’ll feel just so energized and relaxed. In Finland we alsohave a saying along which women are at their modt beautiful right after visiting a sauna! With wet hair, no make-up and rosy cheeks! If you compare the sauna with swimming naked in the lake at the summer house, NOTHING can beat that!
My favorite self care things are brushing my teeth or exercising or meditating. Sometimes when I’m really stressed, these things can be hard to make time for. Having clean teeth keeps me from stress eating.
I love getting manicures but to me self care is sitting in a cozy sweater with hot cup of tea during the early morning or at dusk outside.
i don’t wear makeup or color my hair…buttttt i have to have my Aveda skin and hair products. they start out my day and end my evening before bed. so calming for me
My favorite self-care experience is a nap.
My favorite self-care experience is getting my hair cut every 8 weeks!! Nothing special, no color, just getting a nice cut regularly from my hair specialist that’s taken care of me for 30 years now. 😆 I’m pretty low maintenance so it doesn’t take much to make me feel better. I like bath and body works lotions, candles and laying on the beach too.
Every 6 weeks my sister in law and I go get our hair cut and highlighted. Very relaxing, we talk and enjoy our visit with our cousin who is an amazing beautician.
A nap
My self help is to take a nap when I need it! I also relax by reading a good book. Get my hair colored every couple of months, I’m 69 but I still don’t want gray hair!!
My favorite is getting out and taking a walk.
My favorite self care thing is reading! There is nothing more relaxing than curling up with a good book. I also love that my husband gives me back rubs and doesn’t complain about it. My dog is also relaxing. I love how excited she gets when I get home. It is a good comfort to have her near and I love it when she sits with me or snuggles.
Reading is my self care. I read a lot of different books. It is my own world to just relax.
I don’t really have a self care routine but my family knows that I enjoy my personal time and they are pretty good about giving it to me, mostly because they know how I get if I don’t get it! HAHA
My favorite self care is going for a hike on a nearby river trail. I am able to decompress and release all stress and feel such a sense of peace. I’d go everyday if I could.
My favorite self care is getting in a tub with hot water and sitting for 10-15 minutes. It makes all my joints feel good after. Then moisturize with both lotion (including hands and feet) and face cream.
My favorite self-care is going for a 90 minute massage and then coming home to an empty house with no other obligations for the day. I’ll light candles, put on “guilty pleasure” TV (e.g. Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team) and eat junk food while drinking wine!
My favorite self care item is my jetted tub in my master bath!!
Self care to me is getting outside. My dad always says to get outside and get the house smell off of ya. I find it works. I love being with the horses and cows. This last summer I just started sitting outside to read with the chickens. I called it my chicken yoga and everyone commented how relaxed I seemed after spending a couple hours with them. I love birds in general. I also love good smelling lotions. Some thing in the rosemary or lavender family. Those scents just relax me. And I always say a good face mask can fix almost anything. 😉
A hot beverage and a great book do wonders for the soul
My favorite self care is going to my she shed and reading or listening to my audiobooks away from everyone else. It’s peaceful and totally relaxing.
I don’t really have a self care routine but I do love to go outside and relax with the sound of nature. Thank you for the chance 🥰
Does it count to say reading? I need to read everyday or I start to feel this anxiety creeping up so it has to be part of my self-care routine. I generally read in a quiet room, fan on to block out ambient noise and just tune out the real world for a bit.
Honestly… just hiding away and reading.
Escaping into a good book!
My favorite self-care is listening to gospel music.
My favorite indulgence is a nice soak in a hot tub with an engrossing book.
Reading is my self-care, always and ever. <3
Getting a massage is my favorite self care thing to do 🥰
I make sure I have at least half an hour of alone time per day, if possible, to lay in the bath and read.
My favorite is to do a full body massage followed up by full body scrub every 6 months
My favorite self care thing to do is to get my nails done. I go every two weeks during my working season. Makes me feel all sexy and grown up (ish). I take them off after season cause living on a farm, I destroy my nails on a daily basis. So for part of the year, I feel pretty. 😉 I would love to take a bath but I got a tiny tub for now, working on a big one.
Wow! You are really making me think with these things. I would have to say bath bombs. Although I don’t use them often. My tub isn’t very deep. I’m hoping when we remodel I can find a tub deep enough for my (*)(*) and toes to be under water at the same time. 😅
One of my favorite self care experience is sitting on the beach, reading a book, my toes in the sand, and listening to the waves. My other favorite self care experience is a total body massage and facial. I completely relax and forget about everything when doing one of the above.
My Navage,I haven’t had a cold in ages! Thanks 🙂
In my top three of favorite reads by you! I don’t know if this is considered self care, but I would say my husband. He is my light and is my mind and soul therapy. He is there for me when I just need a hug.
Getting a facial at the spa!
Going for a pedicure!
Gardening is my favorite self care activity. When I got sick several years ago, it was a tremendous help in my mental well being through that, and I still feel the same way today. I love growing my food and I likely won’t stop gardening anytime soon.
One of my most favorite pampering events we do is on Mother’s day weekend with my Mom, 3 other sisters and my 6 late teen neices. We start the day off having breakfast with homemade sourdough French toast with sausage, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit salad and either coffee ☕️ or hot chocolate 🍫 made from scratch. After we do this we have station areas set up for massages, manicure/pedicures or hair cut/coloring as we have a beautician in our clan!! Lol
Anyway we do this throughout the day while enjoying each other’s stories of life. We cut up and laugh and just enjoy each others company. Later on in the afternoon we usually order in dinner and watch movies together ❤️ because it usually turns into a slumber party, and the ones with small babies have them dropped off so we can cuddle them for a while before putting them to bed and we watch movies or talk about memories of the past until we all fall asleep on our makeshift beds or pallets we’ve made for the night. My Mom loves this so much 💗 with all us girls.
My favorite selfcare is getting a pedicure.
Believe it or not but reading is my go to relaxation treatment. I love reading romance and let my mind just absorb the book and let go of my stress.
rocking out to music of my youth
My self care is my Kindle Unlimited subscription and frou frou coffee.
My favorite selfcare item is my glass foot file….a close second is my eyemask & earbud combo.
My favorite form of self-care is a scalp and sinus massage. I have migraines and chronic sinusitis and those help the tension in my head go away even if it’s only for an hour or so.
I love when my husband rubs my back after a rough day.
Laying on my heating pad and reading
Something I do to relax is coloring super simple coloring pages when I’m anxious
Listening to my favorite music and reading with my favorite drink.
My absolute favorite self care is my daily morning and evening skin care routine with a scented candle lit. It is so relaxing and makes me feel refreshed.
Books!! I love to read and add books to my collection. So far this year I have read 228 books!
Daily dose of gym work and definitely the nightly hot tub soak.
Books. Reading always calms me and transports me to different places.
A walk in the woods and a hot bubble bath afterwards is some awesome self-care. The woods help me find my peace.
when i go for a facial is my favorite self care thing to do.
My favorite self-care is relaxing and reading with a good book.
Reading is my self care. And maybe a pedicure with foot massage if I’m going all out 😉
Reading is my go to self care. I do have dry hands, so hand cream is also a big self care item.
I love taking a relaxing bath soaking w/Epson salts and bubble bath. I put my earbuds in listen to my library play list on Spotify and read my book on my kindle. Love it just the best was to unwind!!!
I like to go get my nails done. 🙂
I like getting my hair done.
my favourite self care experience is massages, they just allow me to relax completely into my own body
love skincare product for self care, favorite are Inkeylist skincare
My favourite self care is to just sit and watch the ocean, it just calms my mind and enables me to breathe. It is especially good if there are dolphins or whales to add to the beauty of the ocean.
My self care is to walk on the beach! I love the way the sand and waves feel on my feet.
I haven’t really been doing self care…..I haven’t had time
I enjoy everything funds permitting .. nails, eye lashes, travel… but my my go to, no matter how much money I’m making, whether I’m traveling or sitting home on the couch vegging out is reading. I love getting lost in a whole new world, all the stressors of life just become non existent while I’m living life in my fantasy world! Thank you Julie for sharing your twisted fucking mind with us by bringing excitement, mystery, twists, agony, tears and joy to this hectic world we live in! May you have a Merry Christmas!
My favorite self care is a massage and after that it’s soaking in a hot bubble bath while reading a book.
Listening to audiobooks is my self care. I belong to 4 different audiobook clubs to get the best deals possible. Otherwise I have bought some self care items for myself for Christmas a Solawave wand and face steaming machine. Look forward to these!
Mani pedis with wine and massage’s. Followed closely by bubble baths and a good book ❤️❤️❤️
I love getting pedicures and manicures. I don’t get to often but it’s definitely a nice treat
I don’t love massages in general but hot stone massages are in a category all by themselves. So wonderful, loved every minute of it!
My self care is relaxing and reading.
My favorite self care is to read books. It helps me relax and feel better
A pedicure!
I have feet that grow a third skin on the heel so definitely pedicures. I will just sit and relax and watch the goodness happening.
My best self care is to curl up with my kindle or audiobook and love on my pups. I’ve got two boxers who both think they are lap dogs. One is 80 pounds. But you can’t beat doggie cuddles
My favorite self care is sitting in a massaging chair while getting a deluxe pedicure done & drinking mimosas!!!
Oh Happy Feet!!!
Julie, the Lip Balm sounds smacking good!
Love to walk in the woods just after a rain
My favorite self care experience is my monthly massage. My daily go to is listening to an audiobook at the gym.
My favourite thing to do to take care of my mental health is read or listen to audiobooks, the escape into another world helps me destress and relax.
I also love listening to music and become lost in my favourite tunes,..a bubble bath is nice to.
Thankyou so much for the chance xx
My self care is just having some time to myself. I read, watch a movie or play my Nintendo Switch. But I would really love to get facials and foot massages. I’m on my feet a lot so that would be wonderful!
I would have to say gardening, chopping wood or mowing the lawn. That may sound silly, but all those activities take me out of my head and bring me a kind of peace I don’t find other places. To top it off, they are all good exercises as well!
A massage and a soak in the hot tub is just what the doctor ordered. And of course snuggling with my animals afterward.
I like to take a bath and read it’s very relaxing
Quality time with my sister. We talk through everything going on in our lives, watch chick flicks and veg out.
a bubble bath
I’m living near the mountains so a brisk winter walk in the amazing views followed by a bubble bath and a book. Getting into comfy jammies and fuzzy socks, with a coffee and a blanket with that book it’s a perfect day! It doesn’t happen near often enough but it’s amazing when it does. My husband and I are both first responders working shift work. The relax days are my bubble along with my family. Thank you so much for all you do and this chance. ❤️📚🎄
Riding my motorcycle while listening to audiobooks or music. Just letting the wind blow my stress away.
Reading and eating ❤️
I read and take naps. The older I get the more I enjoy naptime!
Llistening or reading books or music. I enjoy gettting a manicure and pedicure. Hanging out with my dog Memphis.
Reading is absolutely the best self care to me!
A cup of hot tea and reading or listening to an audiobook after a long day at work. It’s the only way to end the day.
Having a nap when i need to have a nap.
I LOVE when I drive to or from work, I listen to an audiobook and just go to a better place than the drive. It is my favorite time of day!! I also LOVE when I get a chance to talk to one of my grandkids!!
A hot cup of tea and a book are what I grab for self care.
Crocheting and listening to audio books. It help center me and shut out everything around me.
Reading is my go to self-care. Nothing better than getting lost in a good book!
It’s been to long but a whole spa day… mani/pedi, massage, facial, etc!
Love to take bubble baths and read 🙌🏻
Omg! I’m super excited about this one! Grateful to enter any but Sick Heat is the only book of yours that I haven’t read yet 🩶 Listening to music, reading, and meditation are my favorite self care things. Helps so much 🩶
My foot spa .. I am on my feet constantly for over 10 to 14 hours a day so my foot spa I absolutely love lol
My self-care consists of lots of little jars of creams and serums and lotions that make me feel good – soft, smooth – such a nice feeling to relax – and its just ‘me time’.
I love bath & body works lotions 🙂
My fav self care experience are Mani-Pedis
I go get massages those are my favorite selfcare things i do for myself
Listening to music along with face masks & at home mani/pedis
My self care is reading or going out with friends
Audible. Podcasts.
Mani/pedi with son.
Massages. New favorite with my sister in law. It’s our date 🫠
My self care is sitting and making things out of resin both epoxy and UV. It has been my sanity for this whole year.
My self-care is usually getting getting a pedicure and getting my nails done. I absolutely hate doing my own nails I’d rather somebody else to do it and they look perfect every time. I also like planning trips and cruises with my sister-in-law.
For self care I love just listening to audiobooks and using products like Korean facemask its so calming. LOL
My favorite self care is reading and listening to book because it takes me to another world for a little while.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SELF CARE ITEM OR EXPERIENCE? Time alone to pamper with an oil hair care treatment and a self mani-pedi. I love trying new lotions and nail polishes.
My self care begins with me taking a bath in our tub with bubbles and staying in as long as I want and getting my nails done and just reading one of your books.
Sometimes my self-care is a walk in the forest, other times it might be playing my drums. They both fill my cup on different ways, get me out of my head, and focus on the beauty or the rhythm.
I love to do spa day with my niece at home. They love to get facial and their nail done. I’ve been doing spa day with they were baby’s.
All-time fave self-care activity is cuddling up with a cup of tea and reading a good book 📖
I love curling up on the sofa or bed and reading uninterrupted for hours!
Hi Julie!!! My first self care is to read. Meditation doesn’t work for me. Never has but reading…Oh my, I’m in pure heaven.
My second self care is the beach, for over 25 years I worked at beach destinations and I NEVER took the time to appreciate what a blessing it was and how lucky I was. Now every opportunity to watch a sunset is everything to me.
And my third and fourth are Frida, my Yorkie dog and playing Padel (I’m obsessed).
That’s all for now. Thank you for doing this Julie. Thank you for taking the time to care for your fans. It means a lot.
My favorite self-care treat is to get a mani and pedi every month. I relax and feel pampered.
my favourite self care experience will always be going to the spa. I rarely ever do it though because it’s so expensive… but to be able to get out of the house, and into a place that is designed for relaxation… there’s nothing like it!
I love a massage. That would be amazing. My other self care is just curling up with a book and losing myself in it.
I always get a glass of Merlot and a good book. Spending time by myself. Best self help ever
My favorite self care treats are actually when I go to physical therapy. I am physically disabled and it’s so helpful to get massage and ultrasound therapy to help my body get just a little bit of pain relief. Thank you so much for these awesome giveaways!
My self care treat is to go out to the lake and row either by myself or in a quad or in a 8 person boat. Just being in the boat and enjoying nature, cutting through the waters brings serenity, joy and peace to my mind. And the camaraderie of team mates rowing as ONE
My favorite self care is to FaceTime with my grandsons. The joy I get from them, well theirs just no words. They fill me up!
For me, emotional and spiritual self care are more important than just caring for my body. A well balanced diet, exercise, and all the lotions and potions in the world can’t help me if my mind is stuck in a dark place, so finding joy and being grateful are the base of my self care routine. But once my mind is in a good place, I love, love, love Le Couvent des Minimes Honey & Shea Nourishing Hand Cream.
I take naps! I generally only sleep 3-5 hours a night, so when I am feeling really overwhelmed or just need a break I will take a nap.
I enjoy reading with a glass of wine on my deck.
I always enjoy scented candles, lotions, and body wash…they soothe me.
Getting lost in a wonderful book is my favorite mental self-care. A good foot massage is my favorite physical self-care indulgence. My sewing shop is my favorite all around escape though!
Over the years my self care has changed as I myself have changed. When I was a young single mother, it was taking my daughter and myself weekly to a cute family owned Italian restaurant and splitting an Eggplant sandwich and watching a miniature train set run around on the built-in track set out from the upper walls of the room. We talked and laughed, and then went across the street to go see a movie. As time past and circumstances changed, it was to take my son to the park and make VCR movies. Then when he was a bit older on my day off from work each week, I’d pick him up at school and we’d go to the Dragon House where he could buy Comic books, DC & Marvel collectable cards and figurerines. Then off to a Mom & Pops Asian restaurant to eat his favorite foods & mine too. Such great self-care. Now in my golden years self-care is seeing and visiting with my children, loving on my soft, furry, cats, reading or listening to a JA Huss book and a really great lip balm!❤🎄❤🎄❤
I love to read in a bubble bath and relax.
My favorite self care is relaxing with a good book and snacks. I also love me some fruity smelling lotions (cruelty free)
I like sitting in my car and listening to music. Even if just for the duration of the song, I feel like my mind and body are at peace
My self-care is definitely massages and pedi and manicures. I love doing these things and it’s so relaxing !
Self-care isn’t my forte, most days, I’m lucky to even have the energy to take a shower and brush my teeth. Buuut, sometimes I do treat myself to the full pampering. Hair, lotion, nail polish, facial scrub.
Also, **NSFW** but….
Mr. Buzz buzz sometimes does the trick too…if you know where I’m getting at (nope, not ashamed at all for posting this)
actually resting and doing nothing is the best self care thing, though I do feel guilty
I love swedish massages, but I definitely don’t treat myself enough!
Reflexology has to be my number one self care, but a good long walk is best for clearing the head and putting me in a better place especially if I have a good audio book x
My husband and I go out to the woods and target shoot. We bring the dog, find a spot away from everything and spend the day. I actually love to sit and read while I am out there too. It is very peaceful. Long hot baths are wonderful but I only get treated to those if we are on vacation and there is a nice soaking tub!!
There’s a few….
Cuddling up with a good book, tea and my fur baby
Great sex
A message
A slumber party with my girls
My favorite self care experience is to run and nice hot bath with all sorts of fun bath items for my skin, bubbles, bath bombs ect. Pour myself a nice hefty glass of wine and listen to classical music!!! With 2 kids, a full time job, and life’s day to day it’s nice to try to have a moment to myself and just decompress a bit. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!
Honestly its going to the gym. Its good for my mind and my body. I definitly dont make enough time for it. I always feel like a million bucks when i get done and come home to shower and get into some cozy lounge clothe
Favorite self care is soaking in my clawfoot tub. The hotter the better. Like a solid 2hours is the average 😂
My ultimate self care is always sleep it gives me so much and its my favourite escape other then reading
My favorite thing is to read it calms me and gets me to my happy place.
I don’t really do anything for self care the past few years….I seem too busy caring for others. As I sit here and reflect on it, it seems sad and something I would like to change. Thank you for putting a spotlight on it.
There are so many…. Getting my hair done every 2 months, Getting a facial every week or two…. Getting my nails done… But my favourite…. Reading a good book in bed drink a large cup of coffee!
I have a neurological disorder which means my body constantly feels like it is on fire or, muscles are tearing, or bones are breaking so my favorite form of self care would have to be a hot stone massage or visiting my chiropractor.
Reading I love relaxing with a good book and do so daily to unwind for the evening.
My absolute self-care treatment would be a massage. I have migraines a lot and my husband bought a massager a few years ago to help me loosen up my muscles. It helps so much but when I use it to just relax, it is amazing. The feeling of just lying there and having your troubles melt away along with your tight muscles is fantastic. I swear when I watch massages on tv or the movies, I can feel the tension rolling away, LOL!
I love to find a quiet spot and read. With my coffee candle. Long hot showers.
I love to sit in a darkened room with scented candles burning, reading a book on my eReader. ‘Nuff said. 🙂
My favorite self care is going to get a facial. It doesn’t happen often enough, though.
My self care experience in 2023 is taking a nice hot shower ( cannot experience a bath because of injuries). Then super warm flannel PJ’S and fuzzy socks on a cold winter nite down here in South Florida with candle lit and electric fire place going with a great book and a nice drink. And read and read.
Full body massage with hot stone.
My jetted tub would be mine favorite self-care item.
Getting my nails done, reading and being outside!
Most recently…Doing my nails. It just makes me feel better.
I unfortunately don’t have time for self care unless it’s a quick shower.
I like to read in color, especially when stressed.
I like to read and color especially when stressed.
A long hot steamy bath with candles and smelly bath salts!
I get an entrainment, low force adjustment every week. It helps my mental/emotional state as well as keeping me moving nicely.
The only self-care I do consistently is getting my hair colored (aka gray covered!) I always feel better about myself when I leave the salon.
I’m a periodontist and spend all day doing surgery on patients, so regular massages and chiropractic visits are an absolute necessity for me.
But to keep my sanity, I have read. It is the best escape from patients’ hatred and fear of all things dental. 😂
A shoulder massage or a manicure.
I don’t do a lot of self care things. I like alone time to read. That keeps me sane.
Books!!! My reading time is the only time of the day that I get to escape from everything!
I definitely make sure my toes and fingers look pretty all year long. I might live with my hubs and two college age sons who could care less. But they make me feel good.
My favorite self care experience was when my parents took me on a cruise a year after giving birth to my youngest son. My husband stayed home with all the kids.
I got to swim in the hot sun in the beautiful clear blue ocean.
Is was so nice not to have to take care of someone for a week but myself.
I have three favorite self-care things and depending on my mood (and sometimes budget) depends on what I do. 1) curl up with a good book, my dog and wine or hot chocolate. 2) treat myself to a date night and do it right. Dress up and go out to dinner and a movie. Sometimes I even invite my friends to join but will still go even if they don’t. Also, these are separate from date nights with my hubby. 3) go get a message.
My self care consist of a mani/pedi every 2 weeks. I love setting in the massage chair and let it massage my upper body while she massages the legs. And I just started using a daily moisturizer that is so light but yet makes your face feel soft and moist. It is by Laura Gellar and it is called Spackle.
My Aloe infused fuzzy socks. They feel so wonderful.
I watch movies that make me feel all the emotions. I find it very cathartic. Some of my favorites are Rudy, Sistrr Act 1 and II, Love Actually, Pretty Woman, Any of the Avenger/Marvel Movies☘️

At least once a month I will lock myself in my room and have a me day. Read a book, binge watch some TV or give myself a facial. Just a little something for me.
I love lighting my scented candles and sitting on my comfy lounge and reading my book. It is the prefect ‘me’ time and as I live in a busy house, I cherish every minute.
For my self care I usually book myself into a spa for the day. I do this once a year for my Birthday or the week before Christmas.
Also, I love to binge watch any comfort series of Netflix and get some reading in as well.
I don’t need much to relax, just some peace and quiet and some good entertainment to make me at least momentarily forget about my life😌
Meditation everyday is my self care!
Books, games on my iPad, and pedicures with my husband.
When I get to escape my life for a day. I don’t work I sleep at a hotel, I don’t have to see or talk to anyone. I usually get a massage and/or pedicure. Maybe shop, listen to audiobooks and just decompress.
Reading, word games and taking time to exercise.
I go for a massage with this former physical therapist who does an exceptional job. She’s extremely busy so it’s a treat when you can get into her schedule.
taking long baths!
My self care things are creative, meditative type things like repetitive work in the garden, taking care of my fruit trees, etc. It’s work but it my safe space too. I thrive in nature. Also, I like to do crafts. Right now my go to craft is carving little people and animals from wood, but I go through phases of my favorite craft of the month or season.
My self-care is mostly reading books, doing Dimond paintings and last but not least movie night with my babies.
My version of self care is a good book and a blanket cuddled up with my dogs. I also love lotion. I live in NH and it’s cold out right now and my skin gets dry so I love fruity lotions to perk me up 💗 and either hot tea with lemon and honey or hot chocolate.
I call getting my nails done my therapy
Definitely a bubble bath. Relaxing
My favourite way to self care is balnket forts and a book
My daughter gave me a massage one year for my birthday, and I loved it. Unfortunately, I have not had one since then. My go to therapy to help heal my mind, is reading. I escape into the story and the characters that the author has woven. Reading calms me and helps me to leave behind the chaos and stress of my every day life.
Taking a nap.

A book, a cup of hot black coffee, and a fire…instant self care!
I take a bubble bath. I guess that would be my self care
My self care is time spent at our cabin in the mountains of West Virginia. It’s not a fancy cabin. We’ve been building it since 1993/1994. It’s finally out of the rugged phase, but nowhere near luxurious lol. But it’s more about being in the middle of nowhere, sitting around a fire, & gazing at the stars. But since I live a 10 hour drive from our cabin, my go to self care is a long soak in my bathtub, candles lit, & a good book (sometimes a traditional book, & sometimes an audiobook so I can close my eyes). Sometimes I splurge on the fancy suds, & sometimes it’s my old standby Dr. Teals!
My favorite self help is getting a room on the beach alone.(I live in Florida so the ocean is all around me.) I indulge in room service, relax and read. Good quiet, alone time.
My favorite self care item is essential oils.
When I married my husband (2nd marriage for me), we opted for just a simple ceremony in front of the fireplace at the restaurant we had our first date at. I told him I’d rather spend the money to build an outdoor flagstone fireplace and patio with a pergola. I envisioned rustic wood, curtains held up with rusting rebar and tied with thick jute rope, and lights hanging overhead. I wanted to be able to sit out there under the stars in the woods after I got out of my hot tub. I have really wicked bad arthritis so everything hotter is better. … but there is something so soothing for my soul when I lay back and drink in the stars while sitting in the dark by that fire. The woods speak to me: owl hoots, the crinkle of leaves under a hoof, a squirrel tail swish, and then that gut wrenching scream of a fox pup that sends my mind into the woods imagining one Huss’ books … Meet me in the Dark or In to Her maybe. Covid came and made us all stir crazy – my husband and I used the time to build my space in the dark just as I envisioned it.
My pedicures are my favorite self care. I work 8-12 hours on my feet and it allows me to just sit and focus on nothing while I am getting pampered.

My favorite self care item is Color Street dry nail polish. I have been using and selling this product for 4 years now, and I’ll never go back to a salon for my nails, every once in a while I go treat myself to a good pedicure but with Color Street I’m able to do it all at home for only $14.
Just relaxing in a comfy chair and reading. It’s my happy place and helps all the yuckies seem less yucky.
Probably working out. It gives me peace even though some days I don’t want to do it.
Massage and a facial are the best way to pamper yourself
A nice hot shower and favorite scented lotion usually coconut vanilla afterwards or a walk in the evening as the sun sets.
Lately, I’ve been really into doing diamond art. It’s so relaxing to do in the evening while we watch TV. My self-care thing I love to do is the Dashing Diva nails. They are so easy and make your nails look so fancy.
I find a calming and satisfying feeling when I do crafting. My favorite things are designing t shirts and decorating old ballet pointe shoes.
I haven’t done much for myself lately but I was thinking about getting a massage, it has been a long while.
An old foot massager I use. I need some help with self care.
Thank you
My hot tub. It’s inflatable and tiny but I love it!
I think one of the most relaxing things in the world is a Pedicure. I rarely have the extra time and money to spend on getting one but they are such a treat when I do. You walk away relaxed and a cute pedi!
My favorite self care item is my electric razor to shave my head.
I have a very bad back so hot baths are my best friend one days it takes my breath away and I can’t get it to stop hurting so bad. However, my favorite thing to use with those baths is the most amazing Epsom salt product ever made. It literally feels like sand and it all dissolves so you don’t feel like you have salt in places it doesn’t need to be. Scentsy makes the it. Or they did until they discontinued it but are bringing it back at special times. Never fails. You love something and it suddenly is gone. Good thing I stocked up a little but now I am so stingy with it it’s not even funny.
Thanks for the chance.
Massages whenever I get the chance!
I love to take a hot shower and use new skin products, mostly body scrubs and body oils and I like to lay on fresh bed linen and read a good romance novel. I like young adult, erotic, and suspense romance mostly. I usually end up falling asleep though after the first couple chapters lol.
I personally like to get a cup of coffee or hot cup of tea and sit on my front porch before anyone else wakes up just to collect my thoughts before the day starts

Books are essential for my well-being. (And the well-being of the people who have to be around me.)

Going for a long walk by myself.
Reading and a glass of wine or crocheting, and a glass of wine or knitting, and a glass of wine, or watching TV and a glass of wine. Maybe it’s just a glass of wine!

My favorite self care action depends on the day and what I need to refill my well. Sometimes its reading and not feeling guilty because I have 5,000 other things to do; sometimes its taking a long bath and playing Animal Crossing; sometimes its watching Youtube- my kids have gotten me into this and I have found some creators that make my day, like Bailey Sarian, Alexandria Ryan, Poppen Attelier and Plush Time Wins; sometimes its getting through my emails and sometimes its just watching cartoons and movies I like.
Retail therapy also helps, like buying the shirt that I like or the really comfortable hair scrunchies even though they cost more than some other ones. So, it varies.
My favorite selfcare thing to do is to sit with a cup of hot cocoa and some snacks and read with a candle burning in the quiet of my living room
Sitting and reading without interruption for a whole afternoon.
Curled up in bed with my cats reading.
Hot bath with a bath bomb
My favorite self care item is a big mug of strong Earl Grey tea (w/cream and sugar) accompanied by a book. I find that this is my most successful method for decompressing and re-energizing. I love to curl up on the couch with some tea, a comfy blanket, my French Bulldog Bisous, and get thoroughly lost in a story.

I love having a bath with lavender Epsom salts while reading a good book or listening to music.
Monthly manicures and bimonthly pedicures.
Taking a bit of time for me. Read a book, surf the internet or what ever just not being obligated for just a while.
For my anxiety it is crocheting. I crochet blankets that I donate to our local Children’s Hospital where out son had his two heart surgeries. Lately I also find going to the gym 3 or 4 times per week is becoming self care for my body, mind, and spirit. With each time I go to the gym I get stronger. I feel better physical and mentally and I am losing weight as a bonus.
I went through a huge lush cosmetics obsession in 2016. I still very much love bath bombs and a good book for self care. Maybe some wine.
milwaukee, wi – on my list to read
Self care for me is reading while snuggling under a blanket with my cats.

My favorite self-care activity is reading…the moment I can sit down, open a book, and disappear from my life into another world is the most relaxing, calming thing I do for myself! Now, if the book relaxation doesn’t work, I book a full-body massage!…sheer Heaven!!

i cant even answer this lol. its been so long since i just had a day to do nothing and relax without kids, dogs, my job, counselors, four oaks, all contacting me or appointments. off the top of my head i would say reading. when i get super stressed i usually throw in ear buds and block out my world be immersing myself in someone elses lol.
I don’t really do self care. The closest I come to it is listening to my audiobooks. I really should care for myself more. Id love to go get a mani/pedi and a massage!

My favorite self care is exercise and face masks. I always dread walking but once I get started all my cares and worries seem to fade. I enjoy the face masks because they make my face feel so good afterwards.
Soothing music and a book
My favorite self-care experience is all of my farm animals. It takes awhile to care for them all but it’s very relaxing and I do talk to them all! People wonder why I think doing all that hard work is relaxing. Animals are the greatest gift we were ver given and we, as humans, do not deserve them. They are beautiful and innocent creatures and if I can make them feel as loved as they make me feel, then I’ve accomplished my goal!
If I’m not at work, you will find me reading or listening to a book. There is nothing like letting your mind wonder through amazing different worlds!
I love using steamers & bath bombs at home, they smell so good and are relaxing
Monthly massages. Makes the month so much better.
Favorite self-care: Silencing the phones, alarms, putting my feet up, and turning on a great audiobook.
Reading is my happy place.
I don’t particularly do self care. I know I should but reading and my playlist that I crank up in the car is about it for me
My favorite self care is getting to snuggle in my favorite chair to binge watch some tv or losing myself in a good book.
Exercise, it is a great stress reliever.
Listening to audiobooks books! I love to read, but never have time to just sit and read. Being able to listen to different stories keeps me grounded!
I am only able to do this once or twice a year, but I thoroughly enjoy nice mani/pedis.
Listening to audio books on my travel to/from work.
My most monthly facial. Sure I get my hair and nails done, but the facial is my favorite indulgence.
Definitely a massage. One of my best friends is my massage therapist. After every massage we have cocktails and girl time and it is so good for my soul.
Cream for my heels, they become dry and crack.
Mani/ pedi
sleep
Self care item or experience… I’d say sitting by with my eyes closed and meditating. The blank mind does my body good.
Books! but also face masks.
I love a good smelling lotion- change scents with the seasons and my fav lip gloss from bath and body…Bare Mint Shimmer🩷🩷🩷
Self-care for me is reading while cuddled up under blanket, bubble Baths and music!
Self care? Besides reading, I am a huge fan of bubble baths and deep tissue massages with hot stones.
Drawing always re-energizes and re-centers me. I can focus on one thing as I draw it and block out the rest of the world. It connects me to the present and all my other thoughts dissolve.
For me it’s a pedicure! It relaxes me and gives me time away from all the “noise”
My friend got me some wonderful goat milk hand cream. I absolutely love it!
Silence. Exercise. Music. Books. Meditation. Long showers. Massages. Back scratches from my hubby. Hugging my kids. Laughter. Cozy Earth sheets/comforter/duvet. Soft blankets. Fuzzy socks.
Sorry. I can’t just list one. 😊
Painting my nails once a week and painting cute decal stickers on top of them.
Listening to audiobooks is my favorite self care. They keep me sane and happy.
As typical as this may sound reading a good books or listening to an audio book is my main self care. I deal with health issues I have to maintain with medication (nope no cure)so books is my mental health escape.
My favorite self-care activity is spreading great smelling lotion on my skin.
Aside from reading, which is basically vital to breathing, a good massage is what I’d consider excellent self-care.
Crafting, it calms my racing mind and helps me destress.
Painting my nails. I love trying new colours or colour combinations to jazz up my hands.
Self care is probably swimming while listening to books or podcasts. I just get into my own zone and do my thing.
My favorite self care item is just going for a walk with my dog around the block.
My biggest self care is reading and/or listening to audiobooks, very closely followed by cooking, I love to try new recipes and test them on the family.
I try to read at least 30 minutes every morning before work and 1 hour before bed.
My favorite self care experience is more like a guilty pleasure and it has to be a toss up between going to New Kids on the Block concerts/cruises or going to see Thunder from Down Under in Las Vegas. Both are extremely fun and take me to my happy place.
Reading a book with tea and cookies.
Reading daily even if it’s just for 10 minutes. I also just got my first Reiki Session done which really helped to balance me so I want to add that to my self care list!
My favourite experience or self care would have to be going back & joining a gym. I even roped my husband into going too. It’s sometimes hard to get ‘motivated’, but at the end, I’m sore, but I feel amazing! I’m also proud of myself for ‘jumping back on the treadmill, the weight machines & pumping the free weights’. You go girl!
Definitely a bath!
Self care for me is just some alone time. I like to just crawl in bed, get under the covers and read a book.
I have two favorite self-care items, my therapeutic spikey ball and my Ashley Black mini fascia blaster. My body gets sore, including my feet. The ball keeps my feet going all night and the blaster helps me make it up to my body when I do more than my muscles wanted to do. 🙂
My self care is pedicure, manicure and reading a good book.
I have two that I really enjoy doing, either picking up a book to read or coloring. When I do either one of these, it just releases everything and I am content.
I’m not going to lie, my favorite self care are my dysport injections. They give me just that little boost of confidence that I need in my late 40’s.
Once a year I like to treat myself to a massage.
Self-care this year was purging all of my worldly items from my 32 year marriage. Life is too short to be cluttered. Now my mind is decluttering. Truly is / was the best thing I did this year.
My self care is time alone at home reading!
My favorite self care item is my kindle. I love to relax and de-stress by losing myself in whatever story I am reading!
Having a massage is my favorite luxury.
Face masks, foot baths and scented body creams.
My favorite self care is a massage.
Wow I have to say I’d really love to win this one because Sick Hate is one of my favourite books by you and the Tokyo Milk skincare products sound really yummy! 🙂
Okay, so my favourite self-care experience is indulging in a good cup of coffee while losing myself in the fictional world. Reality can sometimes feel suffocating and I always regain some sort of clarity and peace after a coffee/book session. I think it is very important to do something you love and chill out whenever you feel like life’s crashing down on you. That’s my take on self care. 🙂
All of my problems get solved with a nice long soak in the tub. Bubble bath, bath salts, muscle soak, bath bombs – I like them all! Anything with a nice scent – and bubbles are always a plus!.
Hi, Merry Christmas🎄. I have one particular self care item that I really like. It’s Honeysuckle Peach Spritze at Bath and Body Works, but of course because it’s something I enjoy it’s now discontinued😢. In the spring, summer, and fall I spend as much time as I can in my flower gardens. I have MS so this can be difficult sometimes🤷🏼♀️. My greatest love though is reading. My Kindle goes with me practically everywhere. If I’m doing something where I can’t sit down to read I turn on the text-to-speech. I’m a book addict. My TBR list is outrageous💗
I will be honest I do not self-care everyday, every week, or even every month. I put everyone first before me. That is just who I am. However, when I go away on vacation no matter where I am going (visiting family, friends, cruise, an island, or even a staycation at a hotel, etc.) I take one day to make it all about me which include a 90 minute signature massage, manicure, pedicure, eyebrows and a wonderful lunch; sometimes I invite a friend or family member to accompany me but the majority of the time it is just a day of bliss just for me to enjoy being one with myself. Highly recommend everyone take a day for themselves!!
I enjoy my time with my dog Gunner and just reading a good book.
My favorite self care is a few days alone at the beach. I live in the Tampa Bay area so I don’t have far to go. I indulge in room service, quiet reading time both in my room and on the beach, and evenings in the bar or restaurant.
Sadly enough I don’t have any kind of self care item or regiment that I follow, it’s something that I struggle with
This year I discovered and fell in love with Jeffree Star skincare – it’s my go to now.
Art or dancing seem to be my go to self care. Art allows me to be creative and not think of all the to do’s and dancing does the same but also is exercise. I do love bubble baths if I can’t do the first two.
I just love listening to books on Audible. I spend way to much time and money!
Working out.
MERRY CHRISTMAS JULIE 🎄♥️💚
Thank you so much for doing this extremely generous giveaway every year 🩷🥰
I don’t really have a self care item, but when I need a reset, I lay on the couch and love on my pup 😍 Sometimes I’ll also watch a good movie or one of my favorite tv shows. I MOST DEFINITELY read!! Reading is very self soothing to me 🩵

Getting my first ever facial – wish I would have started getting facial way earlier in my life
Mine is my favorite soap😉❤️❤️.Thanks for the chance.
Getting a massage. I have some serious back, hip and shoulder problems. I need to have several surgeries, but I’m honestly terrified of going under the knife to get things fixed because when I had my gallbladder taken out, it was supposed to be a outpatient procedure but I ended up in the icu for a week, so I’m terrified of that happening again. A great massage takes away so many pains and just totally relaxes me.
My favorite self care item is going on boardwalk at Shaker Nature Center and forest bathing – being around essential oils released from the trees.
I have my reset or do nothing days. I stay in my pajamas and read or binge-watch tv.
My self care involves getting a mani every 2 weeks and a pedi once a month. My nail tech has become a close friend and confident. She also supplies me with my favorite skin and hair care products because she gets them at her cost at the beauty supply store. I think every woman benefits from having some girl time with her friends too.. I go to lunch or dinner with my friends or my daughters at least once a week. Lastly, my reading time is sacred to me and it’s a huge self care activity.
My self care moments are the moments I get alone, able to curl up with my current audiobook. Be it soaking in a hot tub or curled up under my electric blanket.
My sef care time is getting my nails done and some quiet reading In my new library. Perfect
My favorite self care is time alone. Bonus if it’s reading at the coast.
Favorite self care item is my hot tub. I love sitting outside with a drink and the stars.
Favorite self care item isn’t an item per se, it’s my gym membership!
I have been trying to work on my self-care the last year. Every night after my daughter goes to bed, I try to spend an hour just reading and relaxing. It’s not always possible with every thing that needs done. Bubble baths and a good book are my favorite forms of self-care.
Music, reading And cooking always relax me
My favorite self care experience was when I went to the spa for a half day with lunch. I had a facial and body scrub. I sat in the meditation room for a while. It was great.
Lighting a candle, listening to music, reiki and meditation 💜
My self care is curling up on my couch and reading a good book or watching tv shows
My travel water pick is my favorite self care item. I’ve used it for 2 years now and no cavities!
My favorite self-care activity has always been reading a book. I’ve been doing this since I was seven (which is why I had to get glasses at age 10). And I’m still doing this 71 years later (although the books are now e-books).
I love to get my hair cut and sometimes get highlights. My favorite self care products are hand cream and lip balms
A massage. Especially a foot massage.
Of course, being home alone and reading a great book! Also, very relaxing going to the beauty salon to get a haircut.
My favorite self care experience is cuddling with my cat, which happens daily, no matter how hectic it gets. I think it brinks us both joy and confort.
My self care is my manicures and pedicures I looks forward to them every month 🥰
I’m someone who doesn’t deal with the cold well, so after being out in frigid temps I pamper myself by putting on my softest, furry, sweater and turning my electric fireplace on high. I think make different flavored hot cocoas or a variety of flavored steamed milks. I just sit there and close my eyes while there’s silence surrounding me. It’s the absolute best way to heal myself!
Thanks for the awesome giveaways and Happy Holidays!
The Scarf Princess
Time at the beach, enjoying the warm weather, looking for shells, watching the waves roll in. The sound is so relaxing.

My favorite self care is listening to audiobooks while doing jigsaw puzzles on my kindle while on my favorite recliner with comfy clothes and yummy snacks and drinks!
My favorite self care experience is spending time out in nature like the woods and even better going camping especially by myself.
I love taking time out to pamper myself and do facials, nails and coloring my own hair .
Don’t have a favorite
My favorite self-care experience is a full day of beauty: hair cut & style, massage, facial, waxing, and mani/pedi
Getting hair done. I am more than capable of doing it myself but my hair stylist gives it that special and professional touch. She’s the best.
Hands down, cooking ans eating.
My favourite self care experience is getting my nails done. I can sit back relax and be in my own world and then to finish off I come hm to my crazy house and play with my one year old puppy ❤️

Hi there,
I recently was told by my Physical Therapist about Solfeggio Frequencies Music and it has been amazingly helpful in relaxing my stress and nerve pain. With the music playing, I enjoy a soak in a bath or a long steamy shower and sometimes add a face or hair mask to my me time.
My favorite self care is a massage.
I’m homebound and essentially bedridden, due to chronic illness and pain. Listening to audiobooks (especially yours, Julie) really help to distract me from the pain and all of the other symptoms I live with. For me, audiobooks are an absolute necessity in my life… They are #1 for me, in terms of self care. #2 in self care are “Grampa’s Garden” hot packs. I’ve got every size hot pack imaginable, including their body blanket. My partner is constantly putting them in the microwave to heat them up for me. I put them everywhere, head to toe, to help ease my pain, at least somewhat. #3 would have to be chocolate. I don’t eat too much of it, but I enjoy some dark chocolate everyday.
Go to the nearby beach at sunset.
A good book or audio
Thanks for the chance!
Getting my hair colored. I get vivid colors and I feel most myself when my hair is bright and beautiful.
I have this awesome vacuum thing that sucks stuff out of your pores. It works really good and can remove blackheads and pimples too!
A cup of tea, flavor/type varies often, and a book while cuddled up in the recliner or hanging out on the deck.
Curling up with a good book either in my library or outside somewhere.
Having a little down town in the tub either reading, listening to a book or jamming out to some good music.
Mine is reading 📖
Lying in a hammock between two trees on a cool day with a blanket and my Kindle
Hi Julie, self care experiences are reading and watching cooking shows. They relax me lol.
My favorite thing to do for self care is to go once a year to a book signing event! It’s my happy place where I meet amazing authors and other book lovers like me!!
Just some quiet reading time while laying on ice for me!
Thank you so so so so so much for the years and years of enjoyment you have given me through your books!! And thank you for the chance to win!
I hope you and your family have the happiest of holidays!!!!

Getting g .y haircut. I love getting it washed.
I am actually just learning what self care is but my favorite is a warm bath, with candles and a good book. So far anyways
